In the comics, he acts a lot like he's abandoned the wants and needs of normal men to be Cobra Commander 24/7, and he's also usually disdainful of Destro and the Baroness having a 'workplace romance'. The most I can see is him having a secret mistress who was assigned to his personal guard so there'd be a reason for her to be around him, rather than openly having a consort everyone in Cobra would know about.
