>this made millennials and boomers piss their pants laughing in the 90s
>>
did you forget gen xers?

The 90s were awesome. Everything is gay and immigrant now. The 90s had diversity. The good kind. Diversity or styles and genres. Nowadays everything in /co/ media is homogenized. The same shitty style, the same shitty "action comedy" genre. Everyone tries to be subversive in order to be unique. Heroism and goodness aren't played straight anymore because all the "creatives" are jaded millennial hipsters. Showrunners and aspirants are narcissistic and want to tell you their story through their work, but they are dull and unlikable people. The mundane has poisoned everything. You can't have anything fantastic beyond rainbows and witches. You can't have jokes in case they offend the advertisers. You can't have boys' shows because in theory unisex appeals to more people, plus masculinity is evil now. Electric guitars and drums in /co/ media have also gone extinct.
To all you industry people, animators, writers, showrunners and management, I say this. You killed your host medium and now I will watch you die as entertainment.

People still find it funny
>>
>>145515260
Makes me wonder: what would happen if Comedy Central never existed but MTV continued on with animations and what not? How would that go?
>>
>>145515580
You are right. I have nothing to add as you took the words right out of my mouth anon. But how did it get this bad?

9/11 and the economic booms and busts of the 2000's really fucked things up.

Still does in current year.

Everything else is uppity fag slop so yeah

Hell, I'm giggling like an idiot just by looking at Beavis' face.

>>145516205
We wouldve had Downtown Season 3 and Undergrads Season 2
>>

most zoomers do

>>145515260
Watch the episode where they get stuck in a pipe and tell me you didn't laugh.
>>
Still does.
>>
>>145515260
I preferred the earlier seasons B&B when they were druggy delinquents who were deliberately fucking up shit. Having them become retards who do nothing but laugh was funny at first, but then got old and really repetitive.
>>
I feel like Beavis and Butthead is the only show where even the diehard fans haven't seen every single episode.
>>
>>145517470
Because most of the early episodes are lost/shit quality. Judge hated the earlier episodes (rightfully so, Beavis and Butthead going off model was the least of its problems) so they'll probably never get HD remasters ever.
Friday Night and Way Down Mexico Way are my favorites though.
>>
i'll piss my pants right now
>>
>>145515260
Still does. Fuck I love Beavis and Butt-head.

Based. You know S&P and the twitter crowd will never let something like it ever air again.

Kino. I love shit like this.

I mean like the original fanbase is old as fuck now so they most likely don't know where to find all the episodes online, and not too mention there has never been a dvd that has all the completed seasons. Even the later seasons have never been released fully on dvd.
>>
>>145518068
Wow. You'd think MTV would give a fuck but I guess not. They are the same company that cancelled Downtown after all.
>>
>>145517465
do you think the turning point away from this was the Comedians controversy?

Weird how that happens. For as much as people here screech about either Boomers millennials or zoomzooms destroying america or whatever I've never once seen them mention Gen X. Unless they're just misattributing Gen X with boomers.

What's the best way to watch Daria and Beavis and Butthead with their original music?
>>
>>145519714
There's an encoded mega link for Daria that still works if you look for it on Desu. Don't know about Beavis and Butthead.

The short of it is that cooperation with Japan in the 90s and 00s brought in great profits to the industry. Cultural shift made millennials into hipsters. Hipster shows and ideas became a success, because they were fresh novelties back then. The millennials eventually entered the workforce and the industry. Corpos let them do their thing with the extra money. But their hipster ideas were anti-profit.
-Mock the extraordinary and excellent.
-Utilize the boring and mundane.
-Tell "deep" stories.
-Use unconventionally attractive (ugly) aesthetics to be more novel.
-Draw for your own life because you are relatable and have struggled and are overall God's gift.
-Be supportive of the weird and the outcast because they are fresh, unappreciated and you feel them.
-Be vehemently anti-merch because capitalism bad, man.
Between this and the recession, companies lost a bunch of their money. So they started streamlining their productions and doing reboots instead of experimenting with new things because experimentation is risky. But companies are slow to catch on to trends or course-correct. By the time they started realizing that the hipsters were killing the projects, the millennial showrunners had networked or established themselves as the voice of the marginalized. So the companies started implementing other means of cutting costs. From merging roles and outsourcing to Korea, to using AI. This is where we are now. Indie is trying new stuff and succeeding or failing. Thanks to the internet weebs have cut the american middleman and are consuming japanese media and merch from the source.

I'm emotional about the state of media in general. Media shape impressionable people, who in turn go out and shape the world. Shitty media shape shitty people who shit up the world. And I have to put up with their shit. And when I return home and try to unwind with a game or a sitcom or a cartoon or a comic or a movie or music, I get shit in my eyes and ears. So fuck em.
