On a whim, after following the creator on twitter previously, I decided to pick up Hellaween and absolutely fell in love with the book. Super glad it looks to be continuing past Book 2 and definitely reads as a show pitch at times. Hell, this would probably do phenomenal as one of those independent, Glitch-like web series. I enjoyed the sequel book but the first one is better. Spellbent has a lot going on and doesn't let the characters or story shine as bright as the first one. You can also tell some dialogue is written like how the writer thinks rather than what the characters would say at that age. But still, overall a very good series.

It's an alright book, and they're both fun reads.
