That said, it didn't perform poorly at all, it cleared over 500M in the box office which puts it in the middle for Pixar overall and beat Wreck-It Ralph that same year. But the merch doesn't move at all, and Merch is king for Disney. It's why Cars got all those sequels despite it's performance and critical reception.
