Previously, on "Scourge Victim Storytime":>>146308815We covered Melter, Ringer, Enforcer, Cheetah, Mind-Wave, Black Abbott, Hellrazor and Rapier. But we're not even halfway done showcasing these guys, so as long as anyone's still reading, I'll keep going. First on the menu will be Submariner #27, featuring Commander Kraken
Next up, we got a twofer: Titania (later Lascivious) and Letha, along with Thundra, Poundcakes and Screaming Mimi, go up against the ever lovin' blue eyed Thing
Letha would later die at the Bar, but Titania died before then, so here it is
>>146342487it's a good thing she had no soap to drop
>>146341829Someday in the future he changes his looks completely and goes up against Iron Man.
>>146343643Indeed he does....and I really hate the redesigned look. The original look is best. Anyway, from Grapplers plural to Grappler singular. Its Savage She-Hulk #18And while I'm doing this one, I wanna put something to a poll with you guys...When I get to Bird-Man II, his one and only appearance is kind of a nothing where he's taken out in like the first few pages and the issue is mainly about fighting his boss. So, do you guys want me to story time it anyway since he's still a Scourge victim, or will I cheat and find a story with Bird-Man 1 and the original Ani-Men instead?
Last one for tonight. Ms Marvel #14, featuring Steeplejack
>>146342415>2/3rds of her original teammates were killed by Scourge Joining the Masters of Evil has a sadder feeling in retrospect. One of them even uses the same codename as a dead friend.
ANd that it!How did Ms Marvel recognize Steeplejack when he doesn't look like the original? What was Dracula doing here? And Carol's dad things his daughter has a shapely tookus and doesn't care who knows it.Night all!
>>146344306I have this nagging suspicion that Titania II's creation is directly responsible for them icing Titania I.Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Secret Wars happened BEFORE the Scourge shit, so we had two Titania 's running around at the same time
>>146344600To be fair, Mary is miles and leagues away the better Titania
>>146344610Not saying she isn't. Just saying that you can probably place the blame on her for Davida's death in a meta sense.
>>146344635Oh for sure, they even went out of their way to totally reinvent Titania 1 when they brought her back to life then did nothing with her. Always interesting/funny when the successor to a mantle eclipses the original like Blizzard/Donald Gill did
bumping for readers
>>146343923Leverage.
Nice.
>>146341492Gotta love real Namor
>>146344306It's a little surprising thry didn't just kill ALL the Grapplers. The entire team was all on the same tier of obscurity, Screaming Mimi was the stupidest looking one and Poundcakes was just another generic strong girl like the two that did die
Bumpgood stuff want to read
Anyone looking forward to any specific upcoming villains?
Please stay bumped until I can get home from work
>>146352439OP hereI'll be continuing in the next couple hours, either here, or if this thread gets archived, I'll link at the start of the next thread like I did with this one.
>>146344448>What was Dracula doing here?Tomb Of Dracula was a pretty successful comic at that time but it is an odd cameo.
>>146341492i've seen enough hentai to know where this is going
>>146342415Subtly foreshadowing D-Man coming out as gay decades later.
Tonight I'm gonna do Captain America #318, a story in which TWO men will die...but first, I will introduce you to both of our victims. So let's begin with Invincible Iron Man #160...featuring Death Adder (and the Serpent Squad)
>>146344448I actually just read this comic earlier this week and I couldn't believe how shameless the Dracula cameo was. There wasn't even an editor blurb saying go check out what Dracula's up to in his book. And yeah, its bizarre that's how Mr. Danvers nags his daughter.
>>146344311>>146344448>>146353059>>14635367400 on the "random encounter" table
Hope you enjoyed the trip to the zoo. We're now going to roller disco with Blue Streak
>>146353675>That fucking expression
Put a pin in this chick, we'll see her again...
So, did you guys like meeting Death Adder and Blue Streak? Good...time to watch them die.
Press to pay respects.1 down, 1 to go.
Great new costume, Streak. Shame its the first and last time you'll wear it...
The end. Such a waste to give Blue Streak a cool new look just for this to happen. Might as well have left him in the disco gear.
>>146353623Death Adder is so fucking cool, shame how wasted he gets after his death and resurrection
>>146354721He DOES have a great design...don't know why he gets crapped on.
>>146353649I will say despite how overdone it is by future writers I like how ever though Tony's mostly recovered he still worries about falling back into alcoholism in a fairly well done way.
>>146353707Assuming the speech bubble is coming from Anaconda in second panel since Death Adder is mute
>>146353758poor gorilla but pretty badass of Death Adder to one shot Kerchak there
>>146353800Roland looks kinda cute and goofy just holding that flask with squinted eyes
>>146353841wow, Pepper used to look really dynamite before Paltrowification
>>146354232wow, been so long forgot when Beast was actually a good character
>>146354391It's kinda sad how they highlight Death Adder having a best friend or how before he dies he saves a life even if it's for self serving reasons.
>>146354443not being aroused in Wasps presence? ha liar
>>146354480The Bar with No Name is such a classic and top tier marvel location, genuinely one of the best additions to the street level setting
>>146354946I think it's just being a niche character sadly, shame as yeah he's easily one of the most distinct and cool of the Serpent Society. Guy should be getting into claw fights with Wolverine and Black Panther if he didn't see the cab driver to the netherworld.
>>146353675>Muffy CuddleShe does porn, doesn't she?
>>146343767>So, do you guys want me to story time it anyway since he's still a Scourge victim, or will I cheat and find a story with Bird-Man 1 and the original Ani-Men instead? If he's just in a few pages of an issue, I'd say do a full issue with the original, and the few pages Bird-Man II was in.>>146354717>Such a waste to give Blue Streak a cool new look just for this to happen. Might as well have left him in the disco gear. It's like they were making a point that they could take some lame villain and revamp him into something cool just so you'd care when they killed him.
>>146344759>Always interesting/funny when the successor to a mantle eclipses the original like Blizzard/Donald Gill didI'm not really sure that's accurate, he's survived longer, but the first Blizzard was a solo villain most of the time, Bizzard II usually worked as part of a team, and his entire gimmick was built around being a rookie supervillain who was kind of a loser. Even when he wasn't a rookie anymore, he was still usually a loser, his whole thing is being almost endearingly bad at being a supervillain.
>>146357286yeah but I mean as a character people like him much more, he's used in almost all the adaptions that use Blizzard as a character and generally speaking even if he's worse at being a villain he's just better fleshed out.
>>146354443Screw Marvel for sabotaging bro NamorAND for screwing over Herc
>>146355277He said not around, never said he wouldn't be aroused
>>146357461>he's used in almost all the adaptions that use Blizzard as a characterThat's mostly true, aside from the 60s and 90s Iron Man cartoons. The Blizzard in the 90s Iron Man cartoon was meant to be the original, though it was only made clear with the action figure IIRC. Wikipedia incorrectly states this was Gill.I also just found out there are three later versions of Blizzard who were just in one story each, and one of them somehow appeared in a Spider-Man cartoon. I guess someone retconned Blizzard's appearance in Silver Sable's book into being a different guy because Donny Gill isn't usually a killer. And in fairness, people do tend to like characters who are alive and around more than predecessors who've been dead for years and don't get used, same as how people tended to like Helmut Zemo more than Heinrich Zemo even before Thunderbolts.
>>146358108It's kind of funny how EMH's Zemo is clearly a merger of the two but mostly just Helmut with Heinrich's name in execution, when first watching was waiting for reveal that it was his son pretending to be his dad.
>>146341492bump
>>146359358That's the sound a person makes after hearing Justice is Served
>>146356858>I'd say do a full issue with the original, and the few pages Bird-Man II was inSo be it
Ok, I got a half hour to kill, so as requested, we'll cheat and do the first Bird-Man just to get a story out of it, and then I'll dump what little existence Bird-Man II actually had. Marvel Team Up 25I considered doing X-Men 94 or 95, but Bird Man didn't say or do much in either issue
This version of the Bird-Man (and Ape-Man and Cat-Man) would all die in Iron Man, when Spymaster blew up Count Nefaria's base with them in it. They'd get replaced by a new Ani-Men in Daredevil 158...and the new versions would last about five pages before Cat and Ape were killed, and Bird Man sent to jail to wait for his Scourging.
So anyway, here's Bird-Man II's entire career...
And that's it for Bird-Man II (technically he did show up for a page or two at the end of the previous ep for a cliffhanger of them smashing in to the office, but that's not where the action was)
>>146361879>x-men 94 and 95Dragonfly is mai waifu
