Around Peter they have no problem of reimagining his supporting cast to the point they're unrecognisable. "Modernise" them. Basically do anything and everything as long as it's keeping true to the source material. Two seasons ended up being a full 26 episodes each and the third was like 10 episodes or less and the final episode ended with a huge crossover with the Avengers fighting Venom. The one before Spider-Man 2017 was Ultimate Spider-Man and I never could get into it because it was too juvenile. Apparently that one finished. Like with no cliff hanger either
