The only reason we have babies and don't immediately kill them is because that would spoil the aliens' food. Every once in a while the aliens wipe out humanity (and our sheepdogs, the superheroes) to turn us into food and medicine. The last time it happened the Greek gods were our superhero protectors and they kept Zeus' head as a trophy. But the bad guy thinks simply harvesting everyone is boring and organizes an alien safari to hunt humans for sport.
