I am currently reading through the Thunderbolts series. I like it and I'd like to share the experience with some of you anons here. I'm currently past issue 75, but for a read along, I'll start from the start of course. I don't know how good I'll be at reliably doing this everyday until the series ends or for how long, but I think it'll be neat and I do have scans for all the way up to issue 174.As usual for any read along, feel free to comment at any time, but please do not post images in the middle of an issue being uploaded. So, without further ado, let's get to it.
ENTER... the Thunderbolts!
>>146461595Take a drink every time they explain how songbird works
Brawl at lady liberty.
>>146461785That's probably a drink every issue at that rate.
Big letters mean big damage.
These villains have now gone too far.
Damn. Atlas is pissed.
They're cheering.
Heroes are gone? Nah, I'm thinking heroes are back.
Spider-Man is here to give the first issue a bump. Oh yeah, and some jobbers too.
Final page of issue #1 and the shocking reveal.
Okay guys, so I didn't realize that 4chan would limit me to a single post a minute, which for doing something like this, really slows it down. A lot. Issue #1 is a longer issue. Most are just 22-23 pages, so it wouldn't be as bad as today, but that's still a lot of time to eventually upload all of these. I initially thought I'd be uploading 3-4 issues at a time, but not at this pace. So if people want to read along I'll stick with this, but it's likely to be limited to 1 issue a day.
For tonight though, I think I can still do at least 1 more issue.
You know, I've never actually read the Onslaught event.
>>146461850Eh, the Statue of Liberty has been damaged and repaired after super-fights before. It's fine.
Final page of issue #2.
I powered through another issue for tonight since it was the first day, but this is it for now. I'll have another issue for all of you tomorrow.
>>146462080I wonder if he had terrible initial proposed names the rest shot down. Like Comet Halley, Mach-1(German pronunciation), Cuckoo, The Machineperson, and Big Man.
Interesting series.
This is all-around awful.
>>146461418Are you going to include Fightbolts or just skip it? Also it's nice seeing the real Thunderbolts until Civil War fucks the concept over forever.
Basically I'm glad Ellis got driven out of comics entirely as punishment for turning Thunderbolts into Marvel Suicide Squad.
>>146462963You can pretend to be a superhero right now.
>>146462963Fightbolts? I don't know what that is.
>>146462676Why?
>>146462977he needs to finish Fell
bumping for OP
bump for t-boltsf for their movie that has not a single thing from the original
>>146464823I didn't even know there was a movie.
>>146463082After Thunderbolts #75, Nicieza is replaced by John Arcudi and the book is retooled as as being about a black dude OC who's an ex-villain trying to earn moneh and fame in a fight club. The book has these Maxim style covers and the only actual Thunderbolt character who shows up is Man-Killer of all people for like an issue. It lasted 6 issues and may as well be non-canon. I suspect it was a Jemas idea because, well, it's a very Jemas idea.Basically after #74 it's best to just skip to Avengers/Thunderbolts as it continues the actual story and written by Busiek and Nicieza. Then New Thunderbolts/Thunderbolts until Civil War, then Zemo: Born Better to finish off the (again actual) story. Only post-Nicieza stuff worth reading is Parker's run.
>>146465936Oh and also just to indicate how non-canon Fightbolts is, the third omnibus volume which collects everything from #64 through Born Better completely omits #76-80.
>>146462080I actually read the T-bolts recently, and I remember checking out the onslaught event afterwards out of curiousity, but the whole thing felt like a huge mess.
