I would've honestly not minded Arcane being a one-off season show if I knew the continuation would be this disappointing. The ending of S1 was a proper climax of the entire plot up to that point. Sure, it was a cliffhanger, but it had a message and a satisfying conclusion (aside from Viktor and Jayce's plotlines).S2 is just all over the place and disregarded characters for fan service. There is no satisfaction for anyone not looking for AO3 material.

Honestly, I liked S2. I’m also glad Riot has the balls to state that League characters can be killed off.I do think it should have been split into two seasons. Acts 1/2 alone could have been its own season, and Act 3 with all the shit that happens could have been its own season.However, Riots only animation studio is basically just Fortiche, and they had to start that shit from basically scratch. I genuinely think Riot didn’t know that Arcane would be this popular when they set the two season limit.At the end of the day, Arcane is marketing for League and its overall universe. Arcane is the springboard for all of it. As far as rewriting the season goes I would definitely extend the focus on Singed. The season opener would be a flashback of Singed and Orianna, perhaps him reading her a bedtime story about yordles. Amanda is right, the first scene matters for setting the tone of the whole season. Obviously Warwick is the crown jewel. He is the pivotal emotional tool to use against Jinx, Vi, and the viewer. This season would heavily benefit from delving into Singed and Heimerdinger’s background, even paralleling them to Jayce and Viktor. Loris, Maddie, and Steb don’t exist. Jinxers don’t exist and Sevika doesn’t have that ridiculous redesign. We can go on and on about what the core content could be but we all agree the Vi/Cait/Jinx plot needs to be properly streamlined and Warwick properly showcased. Now for the ending stuff. I would like Orianna to show up as a Deus Ex Machina. She must touch Viktor for the kino shot. Absolutely doesn’t overwrite what Ekko did, just another moment to tag on in the final battle.

Season 2 is still kind of odd for me. Looking back with the knowledge accumulated from these threads and other online sources, a lot of the scenes and pacing makes sense, but watching it without that knowledge at the time was a confusing experience and some elements even felt cringe. This is to say; watching it wasn't fully enjoyable but looking back it's pretty good. Didn't have this issue at all with season 1. Anyone else feel the same?
