>>146646812I like Hilda’s pastel coloured artstyle it gets from the books. Overall it feels like it took the most beautiful pages from the books and made a 3d setting for them out of it. Also the tiny elves are very cute, they hardly even appeared in the books despite their prominence in the show. I wanted to see more of Trollberg in S3, it’s a much more interesting setting than Tofoten and the wilderness. I also really liked David and Hilda’s growing friendship through S1 and 2, like in The Spareow Scouts and The Troll Rock david doesn’t seem to care much about her but she grows on him a lot after The Nightmare Spirit to where she softly replaces Frida as his best friend. My biggest gripes about S3 is not enough Trollberg and Kaisa didn’t show up, I still want to find out what the 5 cut episodes were.

Watching it right now. I'm getting through Hilda and the Mountain King. It's great!Fascinating thing is that the original source material only had six issues. The first three are covered in tthe first three episodes. The fourth is covered in the 1st season finale, the fifth is covered in the 2nd season finale and the last is covered in the following movie.Several episodes are written by Luke Pearson himself, and he enjoyed the experience so much, he decided to continue beyond his work and make a 3rd season.Funny thing is, all his 3rd season stuff is original material. And he didn't bother to make comics out of them since it would've been a tough act to follow. So instead he made a prequel series "Hilda and Twig" with a much younger Hilda. I wonder we can get a chance to look at it.

Hilda's probably one of my favourite characters I've come across in years. She has a great design, a really fun personality (I like that she's not some sort of perfect angel), and I just feel she'd be enjoyable to be around.All the seasons have been entertaining too. In the last episode of the animated series, Hilda went from "Lost in Paradise" to "Paradise Lost" in that final episode of Fairy Hyperborea, which I thought was a nice conclusion to the series. The story really synergizes with the themes of holistic paganism and Scandinavian mythology, making it a comfy series to watch. Hilda is very much like a little girl, prone to making mistakes and being short-sighted, which adds to the charm. It’s a solid 8.9–9/10; it's really good

The story is certainly something different, as in it aims within its world yet can accomplish epic things with it anyway, from the lindworm to the Mountain King and that society of witches just to name a few.Obviously each episode has its own type of pacing that ranges from slow yet meditative (like when Hilda and woodman get trapped in that magic house once) to quick and urgent yet whimsical, particularly in that Jorts episode.The writing is fairly good, my favourite times mostly being in Season 1 and 3, when the characters really surprise each other with their secret perks and distinct povs, as well as how much they had evolved since each passing year.Idk, Hilda just seems like an all right show for me as is. The animation is a rare case of making an art out of tweening, which I've only seen in McCracken's more recent works.It's cheerful sauce.

Hilda went through some redesign process to give her her own "look", because at first she looked too much like Moomins and not her own thing, I like what he eventually settled on which was designing all the colors in the book to be pastel which when the show got made they adapted into everything else, it makes Hilda's colorscheme unique
