I've already said it a few times but the only one of them who's storyline important is Calico. Simone said in the early interviews that Jitter was her favorite so she'll get random scenes where she does things and Deathdream will basically never shut up because he's Japanese Ragdoll. Ransom serves no purpose whatsoever, has no interesting look/power/personality/story. I don't give a shit about Deathdream either.

And I still don't know why Jubilee and Kurt are in the book when they do absolutely nothing. Like even >>146722405 I thought "Okay, Jubilee finally gets to do something" but nope, Beast does. I guess the implication is that she freed him but that would mean it was off page so she still effectively did nothing. But at least she had like 3 pages which is more than the single panel Kurt got. There are too many characters in this book and Simone doesn't care about 3/4 of them.

1) Xavier bought a huge surplus of Adamantium so that Logan could get the full Weapon X process repeated every time he died and got resurrected because they knew that it would be necessary for X-Force's operations
2) Laura died and got resurrected by the Five. During the process Proteus used his reality warping powers to give her a full Adamantium skeleton because all he knew was that they were resurrecting a Wolverine and he assumed they all had full skeletons of the stuff

Right. People were mad that Cyclops would attack a kid, but this ain't some random toddler, he's a mutant and Cyclops doesn't know what powers he has and he was ready to charge at him over nothing. Even Logan told him to stop and he didn't listen.
Rogue's doing a terrible job training these kids. They are doing the same thing she often does: charge and hope for the best. She can pull that out because she's invulnerable, but the kids aren't. And if they aren't yet trained, they shouldn't have gone.
Problem is Simone is too involved on writing those kids, but not only they aren't that interesting, they can't fight and she's not smart enough to write Rogue making plans. Even if she got Logan (a former soldier) or Gambit (a known strategist) doing the planning, Simone's too dumb to make them do anything aside from what they are doing now. She's not interested on writing a good story for the X-Men, just creating her own OCs.

I think it's an attempt to do something about that terrible time when she told Gambit she didn't want kids (despite he has said he wants them) because she had a rough childhood. In a past number, she said she felt them as her own kids and a few people have said they hope both Gambit and Rogue can adopt them.
But honestly, is Rogue even capable of taking care of kids? She's unstable, stubborn, and her current mental state is unwell. 90s Rogue, I see her having a family with Gambit and being happy. Current Rogue shouldn't even own a pet.

To be fair, they just then teleported in and suddenly one of their two objectives was right there and raring to bring down the gates before any recon or planning could be conducted. Then there's fact that anyone is going to look like a drooler compared to a Cyclops with a jet ride to figure things out and two telepaths to coordinate. It's still would have been more interesting to see a genuine infiltration with this group, but this whole event seems mistimed and rushed as fuck.

Yeah, that's my main annoyance with this. You have Gambit on your team and you waste him by not using his skills as a thief because you don't have the brains to write him like this. I had to reread this issue and it reminds me how many characters they've appeared to reset since the fall of Krakoa. Storm? No more hot NASA astronaut to peg on Mars. Cyclops? No longer leading a heroic team of X-Men on missions to save the world, he's back to being warlord leading a strike force. Magneto? Took until recently for them to apparently remember his newfound cause after his resurrection. I forgot how among the Cuckoos it was Phoebe who was the rogue, dating Quintin (which was pretty fucked up giving his role in Sophie dying the first time), now suddenly Phoebe is back in the fold and Sophie is the rogue. Although even when they do that they forget she was the most heroic of the sisters who would have never gone along with Empath's plan because it was too much like the bullshit Quintin was pulling that, again, lead to her death.
