None of which would to be say that she's a bad person, just someone with a flawed personality.

Primary coping mechanism/motivator, to cut the playing pretend and just have fun.3. Confrontational with other characters.4. Most skeptical of Caine.A potential Jax angle is he actually sees through the other character’s bullshit the best. Gangle’s masking, Zooble’s identity issues, Pomni’s denial in the first episode, etc. His method of helping others is the polar opposite of Ragatha’s. While Ragatha comforts and soothes, Jax combats the absurdity of the issue and makes them see it (oh, you’re afraid of centipedes, okay, you get to be around centipedes now). He breaks Gangle’s mask because he’s the only one observant enough to know that it’s bullshit. While Ragatha was being coy and gentle about the circus to the Pomni-in-denial, Jax told it like it is and forced her to accept it. He pokes fun at Zooble’s sexuality because that ties into her identity issues. He gets under Ragatha’s skin to break her facade too. Notice what he says to Gangle, “I like you better when you’re sad”, that could be him being a jerk, or that could be him saying “stop bullshitting this isn’t the real you”. He seems to have a difficult time with direct emotional earnestness or connection (the funeral, nice things at the end of episode 2), so maybe the only way he can address these things is to force others to confront instead of talking it out Pomni-style.If Ragatha is a people pleaser, then making himself unpleasable is a way to bring some backbone out of her in the moment. It’s totally possible that Jax has some issues with getting close to others, because abstraction hits him too hard, so this way is the only way he can contribute without making himself emotionally vulnerable. He can’t be a care-bear, but he does care, in his own way.
