>>146762397I think now is when it starts to get really good.
>>146762457I love how absurdly tall the school has gotten as Pasq just keeps stealing and stacking 'em.

>>146762977My man, look at his hair and eyes through the whole comic.
>>146762568How did I forget the most traumatizing moment in the entire comic?

>>146760576can't believe I never caught the foreshadowing on this page
I put an Ally under a random bridge in the southwest nearly a decade ago, I didn't have a brown marker though. It's probably long-since washed off from years of rain.
>>146762311>>146762319man this hits close to home
>>146762593of COURSE they're in New Jersey.
>>146762645this comic handles the emotional stuff way better than it has any right to.

>Q: Where did Trisssh come from?
Gob used to do doodles for us when IH!! was ongoing, it was awesome.
Man, I forgot about this comic. It's been ages.
>>146766835That's the specific panel that made me start reading the comic, having seen it posted randomly on /co/ as a reaction image.
>>146767122I had a couple others
>>146767298>I'm with dipshit
>>146763002snake tiddies
>>146762920love the expression in the last panel
>>146763002>Blew up what was left of the internetEh, maybe for the best. So, did this ever finish or did the author just kinda wander off from it? I lost track of it somewhere down the line.
>>146769074It had a perfect ending followed by a disappointing sequel
>>146769135Many such cases.
>>146769135>>146769140Complete and total "nothing happens and the author's are to busy living life to focus on it" mess of a sequel.Shit became so disjointed that they started doing the marvel method where the artist would draw up with was happening and the the write would come in later to add dialogue.
>>146763058yup! i was the anon that had a final to finish last time, but i'm finally free and i just got caught up with everything. really fun read so far
>>146760170does the binary say anything
>>146769607YOU'RE something Ilike
>>146769157A shame, because it had some kino moments.
>>146760604need tubsy amd the mom /ss/
>>146769741They were and still are clearly going for a more slow paced and psychological story, but their are certain expectations as a direct sequel to It Hurts which it never quite gets around to.Like the Blackout felt like it was the equivalent to the talent show but instead of being the end of the prologue, it was the start of act 2 if that makes sense.
>>146769741Sadly few and far between. The cast is so much less human and raw.>>146769814>certain expectations as a direct sequel to It Hurts which it never quite gets around toIf it weren't a sequel to IH I wouldn't read it. It can't stand on its own merits. Worse than God Dammit
That might sound harsh but GD was so memorable I saw this pop up just this year
>>146763017I always thought it was pronounced "Pasqualo".Now I feel foolish.
>>146762947>even the cop gets in troubleanyway, popping in to say thank you.i'm genuinely convinced that it hurts!! is some of the tightest things ever put on a webcomic page.the sheer density of jokes is frankly absurd and the only thing that's even remotely close to it in terms of density is MAYBE watchmen.there's literally not a single bad page in this thing.
>>146764258>>146764610lovely.now that i think of it, i don't think i've ever seen much IH fanart, glad to see there's some around.here's a quick mspaint thing i did for a STP thread a while ago
previous storytimer here, i made a list of all the songs gob posted with the comics and those he included in the spotify playlistshttps://rentry.org/6crf7uh8fell free to post them with their pages next thread, i did it for my storytimes and found it enhanced the experience
>>146770703>the sheer density of jokes is frankly absurd and the only thing that's even remotely close to it in terms of densityHave you read Achewood? It always comes to mind when I think about joke density
>>146759807One of my favorite pages
>>146760986I like It Hurts!! a lot but Please Forgive Me!!! just kind of lost the edge.
>>146771447I've been meaning to marathon through it at some point for years now and just never got around to it. It didn't finish yet, did it?
>>146771503I don't know, I kind of drop it and pic it back up every few months when /co/ hosts a Storytime but I haven't been reminded so it's been maybe a year or two.
PFM!!! isn't finished but is currently on a presumably modest hiatus
>>146762933I want to rape Steph, sadly.
>>146772182Bitch smells like radishes though
>>146772320Yeah but her Goblina energy makes me fucking wild.
>>146773665What happened? Why doesn't he come here? Did he tone it PFM down because his wife or because he was ashamed of the liberal use of the word faggot?
>>146774264gob still comes here
>>146763029>>146763029ContinuingNot gonna lie, I forgot that the image limit was 300, so that's why I stopped where I did yesterday.
>>146774600
>>146774600It was a pretty cool baby. RIP.
>>146769157Nah, I think PFM is pretty good. It's not as good as IH but it's not like it's bad either. It's still funny, the story is still interesting if not totally batshit, and most of the newer characters (Patience and Melanie mainly) are great. But yeah, it's burdened by long breaks because Gob's a new dad and that shit cuts into your ability to do a comic that you don't make much money from.
>>146774674If I ever become rich, I'm gonna become Gob and Josef's gay art sponsor. Pay them a salary to just make comics while I watch them from afar, totally nude.
>>146774607That blurry Aurora/Ally
>>146762224One of the most iconic panels from a /co/ creator right here.
has the babyfucker panel appeared yet

>>146774788cuckqueen bros won this time HARD
>>146759807Is that a ghost?
>>146759807this is cool
To this day It Hurts has one of my favorite endings in any story I've read. It manages to be high stakes while successfully landing at the end with something bittersweet yet satisfying.
>>146778330you can let this thread die.
>>146771447It has good moments but overall I find it to be weaker. I think it's because the psychological themes are taken so seriously that it feels like the author's retelling of their own therapeutic experiences whereas It Hurts has a premise straight out of a 2000s cartoon that eventually becomes batshit insane and more like a 2010s creator driven adventure show. Not to say that PFM is bad but I think that the highlight was the asylum rescue. It felt the closest to the kind of formula that made me like It Hurts. Just the gang going on cartoon hijinks and shit suddenly getting weird, them stupid, them funny, them weird again. The "Pasqualo is socially awkward and hates herself" shtick gets old fast and normalfag Ally is boring as sin.
>>146778428Adding to this, each character in IH feels like something you would see in a regular cartoon but with a twist.>PasqualoThe lovable loser MC except he's such a loser that even the likes of Timmy Turner or Danny Fenton would bully him. He has his chosen one powers and many opportunities to look cool but fucks them up because he's just like that.>AllyShe's multiple token characters mashed into one ala Demoman. She's also the crazy comic relief who does stupid shit except that there's no status quo to magically undo everything and the consequences of her bullshit eventually catch up with her.>TubsyThe fat kid who eats and farts. He talks shit and it seems like he's just hyping himself up, them it turns out that it wasn't a joke and he's just inexplicably strong. There's also no status quo to undo what he did or save him so he gets arrested.>AuroraThe seemingly perfect love interest who's way out of the MC's league ala Little Red Haired Girp. Often underdeveloped on purpose because the MC won't make a move. In this case there's no one sided crush. Pasqualo immediately made his move and they were pretty much getting along great without any drama until an outside threat separated them. The underdeveloped part manifest itself as her being incredibly naive as nothingness means the absence of flaws, purity of heart, perfection. It goes on.
>>146759807It hurts too
>>146771447>>146778428I've actually come to love PFM as a story, but that is in contrast to IH, a complete and depressing narrative. PFM hits a sweetspot I really like which is "Here's a town where everything is just a little off." And I like how willing they are to get weird while maintaining a psuedo status quo.
