Great episode
I was sort of worried that Flashgitz would lean fully into the irreverent comedic side of things. But they're actually being sort of serious and character driven with the storytelling and not pulling punches with this cool darker side of their worldbuilding.

Also this episode's colour design and lighting was awesome hot damn

I'm wondering how much of an idea they actually have for how this setting fits together, because I feel like the threads are fraying
>Not-space marines have to steal children instead of recruitment like in 40k, leaving the question of what the difference is between their own authority and these "normal" people is
Are they supposed to be a comparatively isolated cult centered around the space king that has no particular link to the rest of humankind? How do the grim lords fit into this society? How are figures as crucial as the medicae able to just walk off the job if they choose? What happens if a globule-grabber if his license is revoked? If the not-astartes are an insular cult of recycled personalities that answer to the skull thing why are there figures of power that aren't them? Why is it stated that troubling the grim lord would cause problems if they can just kill him with no thought of consequences?
40k works because there's a strongly defined structure of power in the broad picture of humankind that the space marines can be placed within (or separated from)

They seem to be a parody of both the Blood Angels and Pre-Heresy World Eaters, but moreso the World Eaters. They have white and blue armor like the pre-heresy world eater and their obession with blood and fall to heresy is pretty similar to how the World Eaters fell to Khorne. I bet that Space King's Empire is not dying like the Imperium was bedore Guilliman returned. It's already dead. The Skulls are trying to enforce the old order, but in practice, it doesn't mean anything anymore, so the Grimlord, once a vaunted noble title in charge of a dozen systems, now is just some rich dude and his practical control is merely on paper.

Seems like Reclaimer Squads are specifically made up of Psycho-Warriors pulled from different legions, who are then embedded within the operations of a choice single legion. We saw Captain's squad from the first episode was fighting alongside a main force of Star Defenders, and in this episode we saw two squads working with soldiers from whatever the yellow guy's legion is called.

From the looks of it, whilst Psycho-Warrior legions will normally perform your standard Space Marine military operations, Reclaimer Squads are special units made up of specifically chosen warriors to go on special missions/hunt for relics.
>>
>>146764462
True, but they're only the Tau in that they're blue guys who get pummeled, use lasers, and have vertical face cavities. Plenty of room to reuse other aspects of the Tau (namely as Space Indian-Japanese NATO/western interventionism who use Japanese mecha and have a Classical Element motif).

I feel like the inevitable Tau parody will have them be aliens who act as the sort of snobby upper-class liberal hippie types who engage in Orientalism/weebaoo LARPing but towards other aliens or towards actual Japanese culture.

Hatemonger would feel conflicted because they're FILTHY ALIENS but he kinda vibes with their supremacist/racist mindset. In the end he decides to just kill them all once it turns out that they're really fucking annoying about THE GREATER GOOD when they're not being racist.

>>
>>146762292
I don't think the Star Defenders particularly represent any legion, though because of that it's most likely they're the Ultramarine stand-ins.

As for the three members of the squad besides they captain, more than specific chapters they represent roles: Bryce is a tech marine, Hatemonger a chaplain, and Chestnut an apothecary. The only difference here seems to be that in this setting, these three roles are actually their own independent legions that lend their embers to generic warrior legions like the Space Defenders to work as specialists.

It's problem was the creators could not have seen the future and new DW would decide we're making a streaming service for some Warhammer cartoons and therefore we forget the best idea ever to get rid of all the 40K parodies on YouTube for making any more YouTube videos. TTS was never specifically targeted but GW soon it had Target the YouTube Community as it was.

>>
>>146762310

Hense why it's still on YouTube. If it was 40k GW would have had it taken down because only they can make 40k cartoons.
>>
It seems each episode will focus on a member of the group and have them deal with a spoof of a 40k enemy faction. The first episode focused on the captian and the enemy was what I assumed was a tyranid parody, but with titties. The second episode focuses on Chestnut and the antagonist are a spoof of khornate traitors (cause blood obsession) and gene stealers (humans giving themselves over to an alien hivemind pretending to be the emperor, or in this case space king)
>>
>stolen boys aren't just transformed into not-marines
>the globules take over and erase their body and mind
Somehow more grimdark than the official 40K lore.
>>
>>146765909
Next episode focuses on Hatemonger and they are dealing with the Ork parodies. Hatemonger becomes conflicted because the Orks love fighting and killing aliens as much as he does and respect him for his ferocity, but they are also aliens so he has to hate them
>>
>>146763304

That would explain why they are kidnapping kids. The forces that commanded them are either gone or they have been telling them to stop and have cut off support, so now they are basically rogue jihadists pillaging the people that once supported them to keep up a mission that probably was bullshit propaganda to start with.

Its definitely a parody series that entirely centers around parodying WH40k But thats not the same thing as lacking plot or tension in the narrative.

The conflict this epsiode is Chestnut feeling distanced from his team and meeting new people.
The conflic in the previous episode was entirely different. It had to do with the space commander guy being an idiot.

>>
>>146766880
Yeah, unlike the Geneseed being extracted from a fallen marine and used to create a new one, the Globulols are legit just respawning McGuffins. Marines created from the genseed of a fallen marine are still the kid that was recruited and trained to become a space marine. They may get some new personality traits or visions from the former owner of the gene seed but thats about it.
>>
>>146765936
marines seem to produce extra globules, so I assume thats how brand new never before seen marines are made. or maybe you use globules from different sources and that gets you offspring sexual reproduction style
>>
>>146766915
It was a different artwork but this one is just as awesome
>>
>>146767013
If they are being loyal to their inspiration than yes. Each marine has two sets of progenoid glands that produce material that can be harvested every five to ten years. The apothecaries then can use that material to cultivate a new gene-seed organ to implant into an aspirant.

So I assume the psycho warriors have something similar, and they basically just have 4 balls instead of two
>>
>>146766982
Space Marine geneseed also degenerates over time and geneseed is constantly being monitored for signs of mutation or corruption. It's a neat part of the lore that implies that Space Marines themselves would have been phased out eventually by the Emperor with their mission done as a clear biological limit had been imposed on them. I wonder if the irreplaceable nature of globules implies they're also limited and there can't be new globules made anymore.
>>
>>146767047
thats what i was assuming, chestnut accidentally squished 2 of that one marines balls and that killed him. the globules have IDs on them so its probably two specific balls that make the new marine. with extra ones being offspring
whether or not they shed their nuts over time is not established

>>
>>146767139
Yeah, Space Marines are just a massive upgrade from Thunder Warrriors. While the Thunder Warriors had decades long lifespans before they decayed and died, Space Marines have a much longer shelf life, both in body and geneseed. But the fact that they have a shelf life at all does imply they would have been phased out as well.
>>
>>146767257
The Captain also just says that he's from another Legion in the first merch video. We also see two other members of his legion in it.
>>
>>146767267

From the patreon:
Here is our titular new character, Hatemace!
Hatemaces are created in the Hate-Forges of Hatemonger's home planet, Planet Heaven. Equally as spiteful and hateful as their loving owners, Hatemaces are used as spiritual aides to help keep their wielders focused and resentful. As such, they're rather chatty.

In fact, such is their ability to test the purity of their owners, they will sense even the most minor fluctuations in tolerance towards *the other* and retract their spikes, becoming too heavy to wield should their wielder's faith and hatred waver for even a moment. As such it is incredibly difficult for a heretic or 'Mace-Traitor' to hide in the ranks of the various Hate Legions (The Beholders being Hatemonger's legion).

>>
>>146767351
There's non-corrupted Space Marines from the heresy who've survived from the Great Crusade. But Warp shenanigans basically gives writers the excuse to keep characters around even though they should be dead from old age or fallen in battle long ago. Luther in the new lore isn't even chaos corrupted, just gone warp crazy. Cypher has been around the galaxy for thousands of years in realspace and Night Lords like Talos and a few others did stay around realspace for almost that long.
>>
>>146767805
Inronically in 40k, in order to become an Apothecary a Marine needs to serve their chapter for a while and be promoted, and also prove to be proficient in medical and surgery shit. Its considered a very important and prestigious rank and occupation as they are the ones that keep brothers alive and when they perish, preserve the lineage of the chapter by harvesting their geneseed.

Meanwhile in Space King the Mediaes shown to be bellow the ranking of the regular ass Psycho Warriors.

Heh anons said this in the threads for the first episode. Hatemonger has very pale skin and a weird penis in the uncensored patreon release. I'm not gay or anything but I wonder if the psycho-warrior creation process causes them all to have weird dicks as a reference to 40K space marines infertility. Or maybe it's just Hatemonger or a quirk of his legion.

Its implied uncorrupted space marines have their dicks despite what some dipshits say about them cutting them off for not being "tactical and needed". But I dont know if they can get erect, its something GW has never delved into. All we know is space marines are infertile without the intervention of some nutty genetic modification. Space Marines need to piss to you know, so they like to keep their dicks.

>>146760974
That... kinda dragged on. Like easily a third of it could be cut to absolutely no loss.

>>146768334
But Anon! The Blood Puns!
>>
Loredumping from patreon:

The Coagulators are a legion that perpetually bleeds from the iron-maiden esque interior armour spikes being driven into them at all times. Why do they bleed? Because they love Space King, that's why.

They bleed in their High Command chamber.
They bleed in their Blood Chapel.
They even dangerously bleed all over the slippery walkways of their flagship The Blood Eagle.

But no one can say the Coagulators are a one-trick pony. They're also really into little boys, and stealing them.

What started as a way to cover for their frankly substantial legion attrition rate (due mostly to wooziness and blood-loss) soon morphed into a fully fledged business enterprise of boy-trading with other legions.

As such, no legion is as adapt or as skilled at the fine art/science of stealing precious little children from their homes as the Coagulators. In fact, they are one of the only legions to make 'Boy-Snatcher' an official and highly desirable role within the legionary command structure.

Bloodhound - A highly decorated Boy-Snatcher - is capable of sniffing out a boy from at least 3 miles away.

Unfortunately it is not all sunshine and roses for the Coagulators. Every legion no matter how noble or well intentioned has its problems to contend with. After all, the universe of Space King is an uncaring place. It's very grim, it's very dark.

And for some reason an alien race of blood addicted parasitic space bugs are drawn to the ancient ships of the Coagulators where they feast and nest, multiplying in endless number.

These bugs dwarf the Coagulators, capable of rending through their psycho-armour with ease and sucking out all the scrumptious blood inside...
>>
The Coagulator's wear modified psycho-armor filled with spikes, designed to stab the wearer's body all over (not unlike an iron maiden). This coupled with their super-soldier regenerative properties results in a Coagulator's inability to ever actually coagulate, meaning they perpetually bleed through their armor.

Their mysterious founding and borderline heretical beliefs about Space King make them one of the least liked and least trusted of Space King's vast armada. And their incessant fixation on blood / its various uses and colors make them one of the most annoying.
>>
>>146768350
Now that the Coagulators have been destroyed, how badly will the little boy economy be affected by this?

I feels like less and less people play the actual tabletop game now. I have an Imperial Fist army worth 2000 points, but most people just want to collect the minis and look at them like trophies. I hardly get to play the army I spent a ton of money on.
>>
>>146765143
Thematically, it's generally "the future is shit and these people are fucking morons," but there are many jokes. One guy is a murder hobo, another is well-meaning but generally useless, individual people are disposable or basically husks/would-be hosts for "real" people "who matter" (the Marines.)

There are only so many scenarios or locations they've been at so far, but there are more than one archetype, one character, one kind of heel, and definitely more than "just" one joke, man.
>>
>>146765547
TTS was so good, I really didn't care if it was just one friend group's interpretation of The Lore and what the Emperor would think of it. If you have a vision and you stick to it, you can put up with A LOT. That can feel much more rewarding than "plot by committee" and turning out oatmeal. The Specials' schtick of base 40K characters playing 40K Fantasy was fucking hysterical, too
>>

>>
>>146768992
If they're smart they'll continue to throw tidbits at the audience while keeping people guessing. Hatemonger is by far the most interesting character in the show due to the mystery surrounding him. He's season finale material, but let's see how many more episodes are after this. Producing a full 20 minute animation in 9 months is pretty impressive for a self-funded small indie group.
>>
>>146769012

>>146766308
40k and Warhammer in general have gone off the deep end with wokeness in the lore. It's actually very funny though because they can't pivot with the changing cultural winds because of how expensive all of their model molds are to produce. So they are stuck with a lot of cringe stuff because they were relatively late to the party at the time where people are fed up with this shit and continuously are in greater and greater numbers.

Fabius Bile managed to make a perfect Clone of his primarch Fulgrim, but he was uncorrupted and hated what the original Fulgrim (who turned traitor) did. So he eventually sold him to a Necron to be put in stasis and added into the necrons giant museum of people he stole.

Also Fabius is such a rick and morty atheist that he doesnt believe in the Chaos Gods even tho Slannesh once directly looked at him, which caused all of his super human organs to shut down, and he still said "nah". I love this retarded balding mad scientist marine.

I do find it funny how man atheistic space marines turned to Chaos and sold themselves to the Dark Gods and still deny that Gods exist. Most of the Iron Warriors Legion is like that. But they kinda enslave demons instead of the usual other way around and turn them into batteries for their war machines

>>
>>146769488
The fact that the Chaos Gods so desperately covet Humanity to be their servants and are terrified of the Emperor shows that they need humanity more than it needs them and the Human race is the key to their dominance in the universe or the bringers of their destruction
>>
>>146767267
>Space Marines are just a massive upgrade from Thunder Warrriors. While the Thunder Warriors had decades long lifespans before they decayed and died, Space Marines have a much longer shelf life, both in body and geneseed.
Not actually true, but I don't blame you for it because it is an in-universe myth to justify their purge at the hands of the custodes (they were stronger and tougher than first-born astartes but lacked strategic discipline and were too aggresive for the Emperor to utilise beyond reunificatuon).
>>
>>146769505
Makes sense. The writers have underscored this is just one history in what could be a longer future for Humanity. "An age of monsters, struggling to be born," etc. It's all strife because there's no resolution yet - the Emperor returning, the Emperor "dying" and becoming a Chaos God, a Golden Child emerging which may or may not be him or an avatar of Humanity that tips the balance, etc. The Chaos Gods are waiting for the other shoe to drop, or trying to prevent it ... or hasten it.

>non-space marines have to steal children instead of recruitment like in 40k
There's no hard and fast rule with how a chapter gets aspirants. One set up "breeding worlds" eugenics program where they bring kidnapped victims to produce aspirants (Death Specters). There also is some outright kidnapping (Carcharodons).
>>146769191

So far im noticing a pattern of the cast killing Alien Mothers. Episode one had the booba alien with her babies, the start of episode two had them kill the pregnant alien, and the end of it Chestnut killed the brood-mother of the bug aliens.

This is one factor, the changes in aesthetics also had a big impact, they went from baroque/grimdark to tacticool, intrudoced that trainwreck called Primaris (tl;dr: models are fine, lore is awful) and did some pretty dumb things like go after every fan making content or selling an official comic changing the origin of a pretty stablished character (Marneus Calgar is actually some slave boy who got another kid's name). Little things like that started to kill the interest in the set for a lot of people, it's not just one big thing but more like death by a thousand cuts.
>>
>>146770623
>models are fine
The angry face helmet is way more iconic than the primaris ones. All the nu helmets make me think of is alpha legion more than actual marines
>>
>>146770623
Don't forget wildly misjudged what Eldar fans want to the extent of producing the Yncarnae and then effectively squatting them after gauging the reception.

About the cleverest thing they've done in recent years is finally put out a Void Dragon model, and even that one's controversial because some people prefer the idea of the Void Dragon being among the last unsharded C'tans.
>>
>>146770714
Them actually advancing the plot is a huge contributor to these awful decisions. I always hated people who shat on the setting for remaining the same when there was so much stuff unexplored in it. Now it is just marvel/AoS where only named characters are actually allowed to do anything

For me 7th edition onwards with the shifting in art and tone killed it for me. I don't care so much for rules as I prefered the modeling aspect and if the rules get streamlined it does not stop me from seeing mine or other people's minitures being played. But...jeez man...I don't think I have seen a space marine tactical or assault squad with squad/chapter decals for years now. Orks are very rounded in shape and armour now and have become more lime than green and I fucking hate the monopose pushfit that has become the norm now. You get dynamic character stances out of the box but when every army has the same few characters with the hyper specific stance it feels shallow. Then there is contrast. Contrast paints are really usefull, especially for glazing, but I have seen this trend where armies are incredibly bright in colour now. You don't see many darker tones anymore like you would flat layering or drybrush, its almost like everything looks straight out of comic...much like the new art illustrations.

I have basically checked out this point and just 3d print old model scans to try and recreate older armies.
>>
>>146770787
I'm the exact kind of target audience that the Void Dragon model is made for, and all I can say about it is: Too little too late. I'm actually ambivalent about Necrons going from Terminators to Space Tomb Kings but there's some really bitter about a cool design that reminds you of what drew you into the hobby to begin with...coming long, long past the point where the hobby has any remaining value left.
>>
>>146770851
Not to mention when you know that those exact models were not made to provide value or to engross you into the lore but to instead act as a quick buck as it is just something they know players reconise. Its almost like rating traps with TV but in plastic form.
>>
>>146770909
Exactly. It's painful watching people without my frame of reference and experience with the franchise fall for it anyway. And I get it. It's a fucking space god now available for your battlegroup. If I got into 40K later and didn't have any reference point about the Void Dragon until GW presented me the figurine I might have considered it too. But context changes everything.
>>
>>146770960
I don't get how people don't even get curious about old lore or just hate it because it was "static"
I didn't get into 40k until way after the Necron retcon but I still like the old ones better for example.
Same for hating almost all of HH shit and not liking them "moving the plot"
It just had so much more flavor and felt like a real living universe, the new shit is just so sterile and safe and they even have the gall to add modern day bullshit into it

Did the female custodes thing even have any lasting consequences, either in lore or on the tabletop? It was so low-key I couldn't even be bothered to get upset about it, it really just felt like some bean counter realised they could save $$$ by ticking an ESG checklist box.
>>
>>146771200
Beyond the inevitable cringe depictions of super amazonian femstodes showing up all the spess merhens and men on the battlefield (which was going to happen anyways when you force a background faction like Adeptus Custodes to take center stage) and getting ugly "female custodes" heads to jam onto the models (which was already going to happen cause $$$), not really. The "damage" as it were was already done when they tried to go "But it's always been that way you chuds, put down the lore books saying otherwise", so really, nobody else can be bothered to give a fuck.

Not going against you but actually they do have a point, the Chaos Gods are powerful entities but not exactly gods. It seems most Space Marines are infertile and unable to feel sexual pleasure (except the Space Wolves for whatever reason) but with enough tinkering (Fabius Bile) or exposure to chaos warp shit (rest of the Emperors children) they are able to reverse it and enjoy having sex and even procreate

Leaving this here that I also posted in the /tg/ thread:

My prediction is that the irony of Hatemonger is that he isn't actually gay, his legion is and are overtop macho gay and he didn't fit in. Its why his iconography has a fixation on chains and why his helmet has studs around the rim like a collar. It makes sense because it would be the sort of subversion Flashgitz would pull as it is an aspect of 40k that people joke about from time to time with all male custodes or astartes and the boys love over the top homo-eroticism for a lot of their jokes.

Mark my words.

If the bio-programs don't really include the neurological changes you see in puberty AND their life experience isn't all that varied (steal, kill, maim, loot, repeat), it's possible they plateau regardless of lifespan. That and they're convinced whatever they're doing will benefit them "when Space King returns." There's generally no incentive to change goals, like ever. That doesn't spell growth.

/tg/ is so fucking hostile. They’re not even gatekeeping anything either, aside from a few fun projects like that Agartha setting they made there’s literally nothing of substance there, just sour grapes eternally salty over nothing in particular.

Fa/tg/uys literally only communicate through snark and negativity and then wonder why their board is an entropic blackhole of nothingness.
>>
>>146776352
Don’t worry there’s not a lot

>>146768940
Eh, I thought it was a bit worn out after the 2nd furry video. just a bit too much lather.
Yes /tg/ is also horrible. Im 500% ok with gatekeeping, that how things actually become interesting, by having standards. But /tg/ is full of so many posers its Unreally. Not people who actually know their shit and have an actual point, but just spewing the easiest surface level contrarian/counter-contrarian things known to man.
>>
>>146776976
>>146777296
As a former /tg/er it truly did used to be better. I remember even in the 2010s it wasn't as bad as it is now. I think its a mixture of retards from r/worldbuilding leaking in (I know blaming reddit but if you go there and check their posts are nearly identical to a lot of threads on /tg/), one guy who'd bump inane threads he liked for days by asking inane questions he'd never respond to, making conversations feel one-sided, and people becoming autistically paranoid and defensive about youtubers coming in to steal greentext content. It all led to this pit of misery that defies the old maxim that 4chan was never good. It very much used to be better than this.
>>
>>146777387
I think its good. filters out the worst of shit and its easy to see when someone is a complete fag or someone who actually has something worth saying about wargames/rpgs/ other table top shit. the problem is, a lot of retards on on a hair trigger cause there are a lot of other retards.
>>
>>146777431
I think in an ideal world, it would incentivize the creation of thoughtful, intelligent posts that prove you're not a soulless bugman or content scraper but such a thing has yet to materialize because people keep engaging with bait threads.
>>
>>146777483
I Dont care if its always intelligent, just that its entertaining. When there are 3 threads a day about "What if dragons where purple in your setting" with that unique mix of nebulous and uninspired yet somehow thinking its a worthwhile question. Or someone saying "have you tried not playing D&D" when its obvious that they barely have since they mistake elements that are common across RPGs as a D&D specifc problem. Or taking unserious fun threads too seriously or taking thier own stupid points way too profoundly.

You can have a stupid thread if its not boring, and you can have a boring thread if its not stupid, but /tg/ rarely has the presence of mind to distinguish.
>>
>>146776291
I never seen it

>>146771200
Caused a bunch of people to leave the hobby for good because it is just another delusional change made to insert the modern morality into the setting that everything should be equal opportunity regardless of logic or established lore or that a regressive religious and imperialist society would ever, EVER want deviancy or weakness.
For myself, I was already unhappy with GW and was already not buying new models for a couple years but it was the straw that broke the camel's back and made me just completely stop caring about anything after 4th edition or the setting in general and made me not want to get other people into it.
GW has just had a really snarky political attitude lately which has just added to me hating them and modern Warhammer. They have been slowly fucking with fantasy as well like allowing female bretonnian knights in the old world when in the past they were all male with only the rare female forced to pretend to be male or the ultra rare exception like Repanse and in the numerous RPG books it is mentioned that to take most of the knight or even outlaw professions as a female you have to disguise yourself.

I wanted to leave when the primaris marines were released, completely subverting decades of lore and grimdark feel

I left with the "you will not be missed statement", unfairly categorizing a large portion of their players and caving to a minority of social pressure

femstodes only cemented that me leaving was the correct decisions.

I like reading, not smashing action figures together. That's pretty typical in adults.
>>
>>146778810
I think the more they try to achieve "DEEPUST LORE" the worse it is. The earlier books with scant information make more sense to me. They're practically living out a post-Leo "Dune" universe. Very little coherent information or a singular history, tons of people just lost to time. Most humans wouldn't know or really care what happened to a particular Order. I expect that's true even for many Marines still kicking around.

GW leaned way too hard on the "epic narrative" and forgot that 40k is supposed to be a stagnant setting with no forward moving narrative. I would have been fine with the Primaris if they were just another variant of Space Marine armour, but making them this super secret entirely new upgrade on the base Astartes that just conveniently so happens to be linked to the returning Primarch is just asinine.
>>
>>146779591
But anon think of the profits. It is a shame they debased their IP when nowadays books and videogames (which are strengthened by a strong IP) are the new big thing, moreso than the main miniature game
>>

>>
>>146779591
I think it'd be fine if the returning Primarch had real consequences to the Imperium already, but so far it really is just a new can of paint to bring the fans back.
>>
>>146776655
Its also a pretty spot on play on 40k's tendency to make REALLY unimaginative terms for a lot of space marine chapters.

for example: THE IRON FISTS
The iron fists Chapter progenitor was named Ferrus manus (iron fists in latin) who had iron firsts and now the iron fists chop their arms off and replace them with iron fists in memory of Ferrus Manus (Iron Fist).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hv2rid6LbYw

This episode of Space king with the Sanguinors seem mostly to be in reference to THe Blood Angels. Who are pretty blood focused, but not NEARLY as one note as the above mentioned.
>>
>>146779591
Eh, I think people focus too much on Stagnation. yah, thats a big thing in 40k but it doesnt have to define 41k. Its never been about just being one note, there was always a veriety and in fact I think the more core part was the little glimmer of possible hope in a very grim dark situation.

Its not about the setting moving forwards, its about the particulars like the primarus being a ass pull. I like Guiliman returning and him having to deal with the completely foriegn imperium, its more how it gets there rather than there being new factors in the ring.
>>
>>146779648
>I can't enjoy a parody of some goofy kiddy shit I gave up as a kid?

>>
>>146779694
I mean, the stagnation is literally baked into the system.
The orks are degenerating.
The Eldar are broken.
The Imperium is a constant back-biting decaying machine that can just barely get its shit togather to defend its borders at massive losses.
The Machine Cult literally has stagnation as their dogma.

The only ones who buck the trend are the Tau, and that's because they're the plucky, young upstarts who haven't hit their zenith from which something inevitably makes recovery impossible.

>>146780034

bro you are taking the marketing at too much of the face value and applying the macro scale to the micro. if you actually read the books or the more nitty gritty published stuff since like forever, even back in the 90s and 80s, there is always an experimental new technology people are iffy about but tacitly developing, some great leader who did something amazing in the face of beaurocracy, some possible option for an eldar group to reclaim thier maiden world, a slightly different or deeper way to interprate a dogma.

Its never been about complete hopelessness, but about the slivers of hope in very grim situations.

I would have preferred that they did away with the basically fiction of the Imperium as a united polity and had the central authority break down completely. Stuff like Ultramar splitting off into its own independent realm and the like.
Justify the Imperium vs Imperium games.
Maybe they could create a massive array of homebrew tables so people can heavily go in on "your dudes". Make them big enough and with enough variety that people will want to buy more shit just so they can bring their creations to life.
Probably would have wanted to include a "this is the most average planet" template that people build from for the less imaginative fucks. And do double duty of making the Mary Sue/Gary Stu homebrews be shown as even more blatant.

Yeah, this would mean Tyrannids are even more guaranteed to win, but that's basically fact in the lore already.

>>146779694
I don't like the fall of cadia and the galaxy breaking in half. I'm fine with increments moving the story along (Abbadon winning a black crusade) ButI felt like that was too far for something that had been around for 20 years and was a big part of the setting.
And the fact you had primaris and Guilliman immediately afterward was too muxh too fast.
>>
>>146780429
>I would have preferred that they did away with the basically fiction of the Imperium as a united polity and had the central authority break down completely.
I dont really see the need. The imperium is already extremely decentralized. literally only the inquisition and the united high lords of terra have veto power, and even then inquisitors neigh say other inquisitors all the time and people get around the inquisition if you got the name for it like a big name space marine chapter or a good enough alibi is possible too.

Almost every other organization has an extreme degree of autonomy. And inter imperial conflict is pretty normal. thats what the begining of the Badab war was all about. And imp v imp games are pretty common, dont know what you are on about.
>>
>>146773550
I wouldn't be surprised if it was a shared commonality.
>>146773596

>>
>>146780481
Also bear in mind there probably aren't MANY high-tech surviving worlds after the Fall and the re-unification Crusades, but there probably are a few. Some humans out there might be living with zero idea the Imperium exists. It's likely they'd experience the Chaos Gods long before they ever hear about the Emperor.
>>
>>146760974
I felt so bad for that little kid they had to "rescue"
It almost ruined the episode for me. I guess I'm too soft for the grim darkness of the future. Whose globules did chestnut implant him with? I'm glad chestnut finally got to murder some xenos/xeno worshippers like he wanted. It was pretty bad ass.

>>
>>146780604
They go from planet to planet kidnapping little boys and throwing little girls at the nearest volcano. They are NOT the good guys lol.
>>
>>146760974
I really like the second episode. I hope they keep making more of Space King even if they become shorter.
I do hope it keeps going the way it currently is because it's been really funny and entertaining to much though I feel some pity on Chestnut. I wish he wasn't such a useless marine.
Also, Hatemonger should recover his body. After all, his holy globules were inserted into a host soon so they can't be damaged enough not to be able to be retrieved and reinserted into another host.
>>
>>146780612
That's just how the recruitment process works. Space king wills it.
>>
>>146780604
Consider an obvious comedy on "toxic masculinity" compared with Hazbin's oblivious toxic femininity.
>>
>>146780616
It seemed like Hatemonger's body was back to normal at the end
>>
>>146780481
Because while it is extremely decentralized, a ton of people including their writers tend to forget about that a lot, most often seen in other factions never getting a win or the wins they get being massively downplayed in comparison.
This additionally causes an influx of a bunch of those "super secret but Imperium wide influence" organization brews.
So I feel like just taking the small step and having the "decentralized to the point a unifying body is basically fiction" to "there is no unifying body" would raise the discussion quality by at least a few points.
Like, even if some management dude pushes for bringing back Primarchs, they'd be coming into a galaxy where they couldn't save shit for the Imperium as a whole because its dead, so they can only save a small chunk.
Don't get the whole "Guilliman is back, restores the Imperium basically offscreen in the Indomitus Crusade, kills off all the High Lords when they try to coup him which turns him into autocrat" shit they've been pulling, and instead they could have him desperately trying to keep the 500 worlds of Ultramar together to maybe get a Byzantium going.
