GI and the Bride don't really have that. The bride did nothing wrong in her flashback, she was groomed by her creator and fought against the guy simping for her. Even in the montage we see she was trying to make an honest living across time, she wasn't murdering or hurting anyone who wasn't Eric. I absolutely adore Doctor Phosphorous in this, the show as a whole is like a solid 7, but I have really enjoyed Phosphorous. He's such a fucking monster, really the only legitimate monster on the team, and it has been nice seeing him trying to be something like friendly for a little bit, and then when he had to kill that guard guy, who he admits he really liked, he did so with zero hesitation. He's an absolutely heartless monster who has zero qualms about doing whatever he wants, and what he wanted for a little bit there was to be kind of friendly and open with a very small amount of people and that... that's just nice! It's cool to see that. I always wanted more humanization of villains without having to make them be "tortured and misunderstood" or "a conflicted anti-hero". He's a monster! And he's also capable of being kind of cool! Dr. Phos is fun to see animated as he really never should be as he's an example of how batman could never beat this guy realistically. One of the themes of the series is what it means to be a monster.
