I'm just more confused than anything. This either means PG's gonna reclaim the Karen Starr name or simply just use/borrow it (which would also imply that this Power Girl is an impostor and the real one is still out there). In any case, this, along with the new costume and new job as a business owner, looks like DC saying "look, we listened and we're fixing everything you told us to fix"...but not really.Even if she goes back to being Karen Starr, Leah Williams is still on the book, which means her personality-such as it is-will remain the same. And the business she'll run won't be her own, her costume will just be a pale imitation of the classic one, Streaky will still be her cat and she'll still be in Metropolis with a bunch of quirky young adults for her supporting cast. It's all superficial, a lateral step instead of a step forward. This could also just be Leah setting up the pieces for someone who actually knows something about Power Girl to pick up when/if she finally leaves, although it's best this run stays forgotten.
Doubtful.Leah is staying. You assume too much that there are writers at DC itching to write a Powergirl series as much as fans do.They aren’t.It’s Leah or nothing.
>>146906090Post the whole comic for storytime!
>>146906090>Karen Starr is backFuck I might actually have brainrot, because I read that as "Karen Starr is black" at first.
I maintain the issue is editorial and not Leah. I guess the idea is Karen was never her “real” name and Paige is? So she can have a secret identity?
>>146906117I'm fully aware. DC's gonna run this book and character into the ground whether we like it or not.>>146906360>I guess the idea is Karen was never her “real” name and Paige is? So she can have a secret identity? That was the idea back when this run started. But now it seems like it's either being walked back or they'll both be interchangeable identities she uses when appropriate.
>>146906090>(which would also imply that this Power Girl is an impostor and the real one is still out there). It's funny how editorial/Lea keep stoking the theory that this PG isn't the original. It's a great out for whenever they decide to let this run fail. But much like the gaffe that started it, it's probably completely unintentional.
>>146906090It's possible that this new direction is DC's doing as an attempt to right the ship and court back everyone they burned. Considering Leah discarded everything about Power Girl when she started, I doubt she's eager to bring any of it back.>What you're doing isn't working, fix it>Sure, whatever
Bring back those huge milkers!
