How does it hold up? I rewatched the pilot two parter and it's a pretty solid intro, but how does the rest fare?

Absolutely love it, its a worthy successor to Btas. Love interest was dogshit. Melanie or Max would've been better.
>>
Halfway thru S2 the art style switches from animation cels to something that is visually cheaper to look at. It also gets really more hands on from the execs because suddenly all mention of Terry wanting to be someone who tells CEO's to kill themselves is going thru retarded highschool drama and suddenly an influx of Royal Flush Gang and Joker Gang ep's just start happening back to back

Its bad. Its alright but S2 peaks midway thru and the rest of the series is "acceptable" its like watching S2 of Young Justice and just being "this is fine" the entire time it was airing but not really being blown away by it.
>>
Overrated, but it's fine.

Better than Btas

second best in the dcau

The show was meant to end after Season 1.
>>
I watched it by first time this year and it's good. Doesn't feel dated, maybe because it's set in the (then) future. In general, I think it's great, despite I'm really not much of a fan of the new rogue gallery, but aside from it, I enjoy Terry as a new Batman that's his own take.

This, season 1 is fairly tight(albeit prone to usual non-serialized cartoon writing of the era. First episode after the origin and Terry is whining about Bruce and telling him he should try wearing the suit..after Terry just fought for the right to wear the suit), second season is very mixed, 3rd season is floated only by some notable episodes.
>>
What are the best BB episodes?
>>
>>146906349
when Kevin died I rewatched the whole DCAU
i was NOT expecting to like this show the most of all, this time. It used to be my least favorite or second least favorite (I mean I skipped static shock and zeta so those don't count)
it's.. really, really well written. once you get past the fact that we're not getting Mr. Freeze type villains (except when we literally did get him) and they aren't going to really have complex backstories and insanity, they're fantastic. this is just a shitty dystopian future, and the villains are regular people who want some fucking money and managed to get some slightly-more-scifi-than-what-is-normal tools to take said money.

When the hell did Terry whine that Bruce wasn't taking his turn in the suit, that makes no sense.
>>
>>146907345
Episode 3, the first Inque episode, which is why it's so weird. I get Terry is adjusting to the suit, but it comes off as something he'd say after getting burnt out later
>Terry:Is there any time of day I get to have a social life?
>Bruce: Not in this business
>You get a real kick out of this don't you? Maybe it should be you up here instead of me
>I'm doing my part
>which is what again?
Just comes off as weirdly snotty of him.

It's a 10/10 along with Craig of the Creek, Amazing World of Gumball, Codename KND, Courage, The Batman, and Dexter's Laboratory. Anyone who disagrees is a contrarian.

that's just a joke. he isn't actually upset a broken down old man isn't helping out, he's basically saying "oh you wanna micromanage how I do it? maybe YOU need to remember how it feels"
he's cool with fighting crime but he can't be a one-man army.
>>
>>146907769
It's a joke but the delivery of it makes him seem more serious and snotty than snarky. It's something that feels more like something he'd say a few seasons in, not the first episode after the premier.
>>
>>146907800
ah yeah i can see what you mean.
it doesnt help that Will Friedle is trying his best to do a batman voice that is just way below his speaking range
>>
>>146906349
I wish we got more of Melanie Walker/10. She could've been Terry's Catwoman.
>>
>>146908079
she was catwoman but smarter. knew when to get out of the shit.
>>
>>146906997
The big three Inque episodes.
>>
>>146906349
Kickass but it's annoying that they just dropped the megacorporation intrigue plots altogether after the first season.
>>
>>146908226
i mean they took Powers down, after that it's fine

the only thing that bugged me about this show is they seemed to go out of their way to make the new characters ugly, or at least forgettable.
I realize that's the point with Armory, he's not really a supervillain, he's just trying to fund his family's lavish lifestyle.. but it's still hard to take this fat black dude with no-sclera eyes seriously.
inque has a cute teenage daughter but she's got that same beaky nose. Shriek at least looks monstrous, which is a classic Batman thing. but out of the costume he's just... some guy. and I found it hilarious 2-D man was bald. like you just don't do that.
>>
Spellbinder was sorely underutilised
Willie Watts too to a lesser extent
Vance and Repeller were such good designs it's a shame they only get one episode each
I want to fuck Inque

>Shriek at least looks monstrous, which is a classic Batman thing. but out of the costume he's just... some guy.
That's how it is with a lot of villains who wear fully concealing outfits. Scarecrow's some weedy little twink under that mask.
>>
>>146908337
Still miffed that they turned Watts into just a (weirdly jacked) telekinetic rather than the technomancer that he was implied to have become in his debut.
>>
>>146906349
I swear to god Terry moans in pain more often than he actually talks, its ridiculous
>>
>>146908337
oh yeah willie
at least being ugly ties into him being a bully who gets revenge, but yeesh. let's hope the sideshave bowlcut doesn't actually survive that far into the future.
>>146908565
sorry I fucked that up
Shriek looks properly villainous outside of his costume, Spellbinder doesn't. Scarecrow at least looks like Ichabod Crane, that's his thing.
>>146908569
yeah i don't see how those are related.. but at the same time, mental powers are a -thing- in comics, whereas being magically able to control the vague concept of technology.. is much less of a thing. a sillier thing.
>>
IT was a good show
>>

>How does it hold up?
yes
