Based on the announcements and leaks, this seems to be the gist of it.>Superman is already active but a controversial figure since unlike other heroes he doesn’t work for the government or is sponsored by big corporations.>The Justice League-esque team (Mister Terrific, Green Lantern and Hawkgirl) are not edgy killers and are in fact friends with Superman, particularly Mister Terrific. They are sponsored by Maxwell Lord.>Clark and Lois are already dating. Unclear whether Lois already knows he is Superman, finds out during the movie, or already knows but pretends she doesn’t until he’s ready to tell her.>Lex Luthor already hates Superman but they haven’t met face-to-face yet. He’s illegally experimenting on metahumans and Metamorpho is one of his prisoners.>Opening scene is presumably Superman and Justice League fighting a Kaiju engineered by Luthor, after which Superman takes time to talk to kids, GL show offs for the reporters, Hawkgirl hangs around autistically and Mister Terrific focuses on studying the Kaiju (seen in set pics).>Superman later intervenes when Boravia invades its neighboring country Jarhanpur (Boy waving flag scene). Luthor secretly armed the Boravians.>Luthor false-flags a retaliatory attack from Boravia on U.S. soil, turning public opinion against Superman (crowd jeering Superman scene). The Kaiju could also come in here, since Superman’s suit is burnt and the Kaiju breathes fire.>Anyway, Superman is arrested by Rick Flag Sr. and Luthor’s enforcers Engineer and Ultraman, who turns out to be a clone of Superman created by Luthor (stadium fight scene).>Superman is locked up alongside Metamorpho and several other metas in Luthor’s compound, but escapes (punching the glass cage scene). Metamorpho escapes as well.
>Superman gets his ass kicked by Ultraman, flees to the Arctic, calls on Krypto to take him to the Fortress of Solitude to recover.>Luthor, the Engineer and Ultraman follow Superman, break into the Fortress, steal its tech and destroy the Fortress (Superman crying over a robot scene).>Meanwhile, Lois is working to prove Luthor framed Superman. Metamorpho links up with her, and the Justice League protects them from Luthor’s henchmen.>At some point, the Daily Planet is attacked, and Mister Terrific saves the staff and transports them in his ship.>It all culminates with Superman fighting Ultraman, who deteriorates into Bizarro. Superman realizes Ultraman is a child-like being and stops fighting, instead comforting him as he dies.>Superman then stops Luthor from using some sort of weapon/macguffin that generates the big sky thing seen in trailers and promo pics.>Lois exposes Luthor and he presumably gets arrested/ruined. Metamorpho joins the Justice League, they rescue the captive metas, and the world embraces Superman as a true hero.
Sound about right. Though I do think Ultraman will be a bigger part of the plot.
