>You make a show. You put it out there. Then stuff happens, or rather it doesn't. Networks have ways of shutting down (see under CiTV) only to come back years later, regimes change, distributors go out of business, and toons get forgotten and lost in the shuffle. And when I say lost, I mean forgotten. I'm picturing a wharehouse that looks roughly like that last scene from Raiders Of The Lost Arc, where episodes of Bounty Hamster are nailed shut in a plain wooden crate amongst a million other plain wooden crates. Seriously shelved. >And yet, somehow people have a way of putting up their obsessions onto the internet and sharing them with other obsessives. And those people, those hardcore people like the thing so much that they spend time drawing images that well... that reflect their own fantasies about the characters on the show. I love this and happily endorse it. Even if it was a kids show. Lets face it, if you're going to fall in love with a cartoon character, it's your god given right to ponder what she or indeed he looks like with less clothes on.>Alan Gilbey found these when searching for images for a powerpoint presentation. You see, we developed the show with Graham Ralph and even we don't have images handy. The show is that lost. Still, it's nice to see it lives on ...and uh, erm, hit puberty. From the show's creator David Freedmanhttps://davidfreedman.blogspot.com/2012/06/bounty-hamster-lives-on-in-strange-ways.html
>>146968442I wonder what HHS is up to nowadays, I liked his art.
>>146961801Sell me on this show. I don't know how many episode it has neither what it's about/the genre.
>>146968717It'sonly one season of twenty-six ten minute episodes and is a scifi parody about a girl hiring a bounty hunter of dubious skills to locate her missing father. Budget cuts by the network during production made the staff have to throw out plans for a few episodes and about a third of the show didn't even air during its original run. The show is very quickly paced and has a ton of running gags, parody references, physical comedy, and puns but not very much in the way of gross-out comedy. It can be pretty cynical at times and even a bit dark at times, which probably had a lot to do with its abbreviated run. If it'd come about a decade later, the show would have been a lot better received. The strong points for it are the humor and primary cast; the two main characters have a good back-and-forth and work well on their own. It's a quick watch ad you can find the episodes in good quality in Youtube.
>>146966126No fucking way they expected people to believe she’s 13She’s even worse than Azula’s 14
>>146969786I'm not really sure what the source for that age is; seems like people extrapolating from the school episode but there's not an actual reference in that episode to what grade she's in. There's a girl talking about being asked out by a sixth form student but that's it.
>>146968326It looks like a point and click adventure
>>146969786There's an episode here or there where she looks that young, Chin Raiders for instance, but, in general, she doesn't look, sound, or act like it. Even Raiders has a pretty inconsistent character designs for her though, she looks like her normal self in some scenes and is noticeably younger looking in others in that she's shorter relative to Hamster and less curvy.
>>146970685That's pretty much the sense of humor it has as well. Even some of the solutions to their problems have a point-and-click feel to them.Come to think of it, a Day of the Tentacle style adventure game would be a really good fit for Bounty Hamster.
I think it's a good look for her.
>>146970282Could be a series bible deal. Seems like it's universally accepted at any rate but watching through the show, I haven't heard a reference to her age yet.
>>146966523I've always liked how Cassie just didn't care after she saw it wasn't a knife. No worries at all about him seeing her naked.

>>147005938Why bother with the tomboy part if your going to ruin it like that?
>>147005968Something about a tomboy being forced to be girly is just hot as a concept.
>>147005968because it's cute seeing a typically brash confident girl get all shy and embarrassed due to something that isn't even lewd, especially if there is part of her that enjoys it but she'd never admit it outright, plus big dresses are kinda like light bondage when you think about it (they tend to be combersome despite the light silky materials and that's without talking corsets, heels and crinolines/petticoats) though that's just a small part of it, there's also the juxtaposition factor too and them giving in to something that they would consider "forbidden" while others would do it like it's no big deal and the fact that they get spoiled to such a degree that they can't hide away they become the focus of attention everyone staring and giving constant complements and generally treating them differently. >>147006004it is, shame it's kinda niche outside of stepford stuff.

I'm quite surprised this thread has lasted as long as it has and no drawfags have come in the take r and draw her.
>>147008390Bounty Hamster threads are notorious for their longevity
>>147009048So is any thread if people are willing to necobump it from page 10.
>>147009127You need 2 people from different timezones.
>>147006803Anyone made this yet?
>>147002189I
>>147009127I've always maintained the stance that there's no such thing as necrobumping on 4chan. It's either 404'd, or it's fair game. This board is fast enough that the concept of necrobumping is meaningless here. Save that term for forums that can go weeks or months without a reply.
>>147009997I disagree. I have seen threads here and on trash mercy bumped from page ten for half a day to a full day, notably if someone is waiting on a drawfag to draw something, so the thread can have some fresh content. Once all talking points are exhausted, people should let threads go, but sometimes people can't let go, so then you get a mini general that lasts 3-15 days just because.Perfect example here. Any bumps of "cute" or other nonsense are all necrobumps with hours in between. >>146995406
>>147010419I been here long enough to see necrobumping produce great results. Like new anons finding the thread, or old anons, who were busy with life, returning to post once more. It's not all about draw requests.
>>147009922S
>>147011348Is this new? Either way, good stuff
hampter
>>147010419I think the board runs too fast for all talking points to 'really' be exhausted, only talking points from the people who happen to be online at that time. People who have jobs or get proper sleep at night or spend time with real people that they have relationships with don't get a chance to put in their input when a thread disappears at speeds more suited to terminally online autists. Mercy or necrobumps are something that I appreciate when I come home and find that the thread I've been following is still there. I'd like it even more if those bumps had some shred of content or opinion attached to them, but I'll settle for a bit of nonsense as long as it keeps my favorite threads on the board. I actually prefer threads that last several days. Your experience may vary.

>>147022165>640x480HOW. It is a widescreen show.
>>146968442Full version of that bottom right.
>>147024327Unless it's a broadcast version cropped to a 4:3, they probably meant 848x480 and just weren't paying attention. A few other shows made in that era did that after all; I think even Phineas and Ferb did that for a while and it was four or five years later.
>>147023589I've seen a couple people post Bounty Hamster stuff on social media over the past few days. Be nice if this thread leads to a bunch of new people discovering the show for the first time.
>>147020720The Internet Archive has the entire series in 1024x562.
>>147025390Found ONE upload over there, it looks good, but not necessarily fantastic. Definitely upscale, and interlacing artifacts that should NOT be there if a master or something resembling a master was uploaded.
>>147025420The one with the quicktime files?
>>147025600Yes.
>>147025420Do the actual masters even still exist for it though? Setting aside the poor track record British networks have for that I'm general, the show was canceled while in production and a third of the series didn't even air. Decent chance they were discarded a long time ago.
>>147018913Well, if the tentacle monster is a plant creature from that one episode, it actually has a really sad backstory. If it's the cuttlefish, well, that one just seems to be a jerk.
>>147021254>It was made largely in the Australian/Kiwi portion of the Anglosphere.I wonder how many studios were involved. Some of the episodes like Chin Raiders have a shift in art at times that makes me think that more than one worked on it.
>>147020801I'm glad that it's even moderately available and not some deal like The Baskervilles where several of the episodes are only available in Catalan and in a resolution suited to those old Gameboy Advance cartridges.
>>147027962It'd be nice if somebody could find that show in decent quality; you never know what will pop up though. Like there were a couple episodes of Kidd Video that were pretty much lost until last year or so when some foreign language versions in pretty decent quality were uploaded.

I admit I did not test if 4chan does that, though.>Filenames aren't part of the hash either.never were, no idea where you got that.>He turned it on because he's a jew and wants to save pennies by serving compressed images. It's not exactly pennies when the site is serving a gorillion downloads. The last official word was that the site is moving 3 petabytes per month and that was 8 years ago. If cloudflare compression saves 10% of that, we are talking 300 terabytes of bandwidth.Even moot touched on this subject when he deliberately chose the shortest possible CDN domain just so he can save a few bytes whenever the url is called, because the site gets so many hits that saving 1 kbyte (assuming a 3 chars longer url * 334 usages of 4cdn on the page right now) with a billion page hits is already nearly a terabyte of bandwidth. And the site had 7.5 page hits in 2010, I have no idea how many it would get today. The site is serving so many page loads that every percentage of optimization results in terabytes shaved off the traffic.>You can test it yourself, try saving >>147073751 and check the filesize on your saved copy.Yeah, I see it now, the error I made when testing it was not accounting for the fact that on first upload, the files are not yet recompressed by cloudflare. The files I uploaded, after immediately redownloading, had the same image hash as the originals. But testing it again a few hours later, and now they have different hashes. Interesting.Well, I modified my userscript now to add a GET parameter to the file url to get around this. Thanks.

>>147106404Is the script for that available? I have a couple of other scripts but not that one.
>>147098212which is weird because they have 3d models, but it looks like different 3d models from scene to scene from some reason, and some profile looks like they were hand drawn for some reason. >>147100436its funny because lacking a toilet was the inciting incident for the lonely planet episode. >>147100440It kind of depends, and this wasn't a particularly "cool" space ships, just one that I added details I though were interesting. Consider what kind of space ship that you like, my case, it started out with enterprise-e and then Normandy, I started drawing them. I later put together some model kits that had a lot of small mechanical details that I learn to draw overtime and I also look at a lot of surface decals and learn a lot of their purposes for different components overtime. Learning parts of a ship, like learning parts of a building or components that made up a city are sort of like learning vocabularies, its important to be curious about some of those details and learning what each parts were and their purpose as you try to draw them, and if you can understand what those things were you can internalize them. Although you don't necessarily have to know how they work or how they are suppose to fit together, just a rough idea.
>>147106422I've not seen a script that I can recall but only the outline. It might even have been that the Threepio parody was going to play in a role in that episode as well since he was last seen on the swapmeet planet but the TMP parody was definitely the bulk of it. >>147106506Again, great work.I forgot about that business about the bathroom. It might just be the laundry or a shower stall since it's roughly where the water was vented from when Marion actually dumped in it Somewhere That's Green. The sink is right beside what looks like a garbage disposal behind the blue lever in >>147100436. There's a microwave in that area as well; Cassie mentions Marion using it to dry his underwear but he also seems like the type to wash clothes in a sink.
>>147106506>which is weird because they have 3d models, but it looks like different 3d models from scene to scene from some reason, and some profile looks like they were hand drawn for some reason.Probably different studios since there's also some slight differences in character designs. >>147125287I could make no-homo excuses instead but come oooooon, we're all faggots here
>>147126825well, that's go with that. I just thought its something that look cool, and something to break up the form in terms of design. >>147106688thanks, although looking at >>147100436 in more detail I realize that the bunks are just in the back of pilot pod. It'll probably need a lot more space than its exterior design might suggest. If Elite Dangerous has taught me anything I felt that the actual size of space ships needed to be in order to carry all of its life sustaining function is completely out of whack compare to the way they looks in terms of designs. >>147107297That's kind of interesting, also the first time I saw the screenshot of the show I thought it would be some sort of flash-tweening but I was surprised it was full frames.
>>147063547Amphibia had one.... or at least Anne had one, not sure on the other 2.Big City Greenes probably had a pool episode.
>>147105439If you told me the same people who worked on the ships in Lilo and Stitch also did the CGI ships for BH I'd believe it. That looks like recolors in a lower render setting than the movie had.
>>147127898I spot a Molly.
>>147127898Here's a comparison of a couple shots from Ep. 3, Chin Raiders, vs. Ep. 10, Bringing Up Baby. The latter is pretty much the standard look of the show; there's a few bits here and there where Cassie and/on Marion look different than usual but nothing on the level of Chin Raiders and even that episode changes looks more than once. See what I mean about her looking younger in the top screenshots?
>>147128553My understanding is that the main reason behind the show's early demise was due to issues with the animation studio. The inconsistency amongst designs might be due to the amount of retakes that had to be done, which ate up a lot of time and money.
>>147128553>>147128877Chin Raiders has individual animators listed instead of the company credit for Slightly Offbeat Productions and also had Swampy Marsh doing storyboards which makes me wonder if it was a pilot episode and the artstyle changed between it and the series.
This is the oldest thread on the catalog by a mile, huh?
There's an episode where Marion is conned into selling their ship and they're actually still without their ship for several episodes after. Though unfortunately, possibly due to production problems, they skipped the episode where they got the ship back and they just suddenly have the ship back out of nowhere.
>>147129522Or, being British, by a kilometer
>>147128553yes. I just thought it would be interesting, although don't have really similar art style or settings. >>147128553Well, some studio does have a house style, and even the same studio have different style depending on who's doing the storyboards.
>>147127295>>147129522That's a bad sign. No good thread lasts more than two weeks on a board with this speed. It's always worthless threads like this that are constantly necrobumped by unemployed, unenrolled retards that apparently don't sleep. I wouldn't be surprised if losers like this set alarms to ensure they keep tabs on their extremely pathetic threads.
>>147130882Huh, come to think of it, Cassie and Molly could have pretty interesting character dynamics with their respective father issues.
It's been a great thread. Hope to see you all in the next one sometime in the future. You've all been awesome to hang out with.
>>147131075Same to you, Anon. Have a great a healthy year everyone!
>>147131075Yep, been a great thread and a nice throwback to how things used to be on /co/.
>>1471179394u>>>/wsg/5786304
Good thread.
Cassie's FAT ASS getting smashed
>Had she aged in real time, Cassie would now be 35 years old >>147130928I would never call a thread like this which produced such excellent art and discussion worthless
>>147132617By the tentacle monster?
Cassie threads are the best threads
>>147132798I think it's pretty clear that this was a troll post, and not worth dignifying with a reply.
>>146971089>>147129522>14 days of Cassie humiliation.4th to last reply to say that we can stop now. Or rather soon.
>>146980530she's not american tho
Well, lads, it's been an honor posting in this thread. Until next time
>>147135330I always thought that was why she looked confused, because she was wearing the wrong flag.
>>147135472Yeah, that's the whole point. It was a non -American character wearing a USA bikini.
>>147135392We did it.
last for tentacles
What British entertainment like over there?
>>147132798The art is dogshit. Get over yourself.
