Dynamite Comics Zootopia #1 Preview
Full comic comes out very soon so assume it'll be ripped in short order
>>147042221Marty?
I really like the art. Writing is good so far too.
not really feeling the art
>>147042187>Chief still assigning them to shit low-level jobs after all those events>Nick having the time of his life doing menial shit>Judy getting increasingly insecureSo far so good
>>147042221Ra da da da da circus afro
>any time someone lewds the bunny
>>147042169ugh
Look, I'm just gonna say it. There are furry artists that do better art of the characters.
>>147042187>I am the storm that is approaching.
>>147042169Judy looks chonky on this cover
>>147044428There's nothing wrong with the art
>>147044428You're not getting porn in an officially licensed comic
>>147044428>>147045759Not-Marty aside, the art appears to be serviceable enough for what are movie spinoff comics. The lines are thick. There's an interesting use of screen tone for shading, and the backgrounds are alright. I'm on the fence on whether I really want to read it, though.
>>147044428there's probably thousands of them. this looks pretty bad for an official comic
>>147044428Yeah some can but>Having to do 10 issues at once>Takes 12 hours to do one panel>Has a panic attack over nothing>Calls everyone sexist or is too mentally deranged to work>Tries to force porn scenarios sneaked into the comicThere's a reason they don't get work. The art here is nice and stylistic so it's fair
>>147045841It's a Dynamite book. You either get good writing and shitty art, or you get good art and shitty writing. There's no in-between with them.
The art is fucking great. But what pisses me off with these tie in comics, they NEVER matter. None of the events will be mentioned in the movie, or have any affect on it.
>>147042947>>147042221Finally, it's great to see a proper zebra being the head of a tech company. Zebras have been one of the biggest markets for new tech and now they are fully represented in the CEO chair too. Zootopia truly is a city of the future.
>>147046295Some people have been asking for episodic buddy cop episodes with these two for awhile and this kind of covers that The format actually works to see what their cop lifes are like outside the major events
This artist does not like drawing paws>>147045848>>Tries to force porn scenarios sneaked into the comicWe live in a post Harley Fart Comic (HFC) world so this is based actually
>>147046397I guess.
>>147046352>Forces the Afro Circus ringtone into every update of his phones>It can never be replaced with anything bearable>The afro circus ringtone reinstalls itself after every uninstall>You will USE the afro circus ringtone and you will fucking LIKE it
>>147046418I'd rather have almost no paws, than poorly drawn paws.
>>147045848>There's a reason they don't get workExcept they do get work and are in ever facet of the business. Quit relying on your own stupidity to make generalizations.
>>147042169Is it out now?
>>147047340Are we there yet?
>>147046418Warner has always been more suggestive and outreaching with their characters. They had Hanna Barbera comics where characters have gay sex and call each other fagsDisney is very protective of their marketable mainline film content so the idea of fetish bait would scare them
>>147047630What you wrote only makes sense if WB bought all the Hanna Barbera characters and IPs. Which, if happened, I don't know of.
>Nick, to solve this case we have to go naked, no one will ever suspect of a bunny and a fox completely naked!
>>147047995>Thats dumb Judy, you should dress up like a whore instead, no one will ever suspect a fox alongside a prostitute.

Boring
>>147044428Filtered
Is Nick a gamer?
>>147048942Definitely no. He would not have time to hustle.
>>147048942>>147049006>"Hey, trade me all your gold coins and i'll double it."
>>147048942He loves yelling out species specific slurs over voice chat.
>>147049337>YOU'RE A FUCKING CUUUUUUUTE!!!
>>147049377Neckers always have shit aim because the wire has up to their head and back.
>>147042169Judy looking a bit chubby
>>147048942He's a game..murrr. :3
>>147050802>murrrCats around the world are offended at this awful cultural appropriation.
>>147050068>>147045409Haven't you ever seen a cop phenotype woman from Pennsylvania before?
>>147051568>PennsylvaniaToo unspecific where in-state
>>147042169>cover art sucks>inside art is pretty alrightthat's surprising
>>147052263If they didn't need the cover to sell the whole thing so often it should be the norm.
>>147042169Cover is clearly AI-gen.
>>147053055Nope
>>147050068She's been eating carrot cake.
Jesus Christ did they commission Guy to draw the fucking cover? I can see layer clipping.
>>147050068His pies are too good
>>147042169Got it. Predictably, simple, for kids. Action scenes at times rushed and poorly paneled at times. It's like they try to do action scenes with as few panels as possible, and it leads to looking half-assed. Like in the panel with the streamers upside down and addressing their viewers, Judy should have been shown in the background leaping towards them, instead of showing up literally out of nowhere to tackle the streamers. Other than that...and the flub of having a plain gray cat on the cargo crew state she noticed an odd smell, but then her coat changes color and pattern to something resembling a caracal (brown and white) when she's leading Judy and Nick to the perp. At least the art and expressions are good.
>>147054146Are you talking about the background, or whatever the hell is going on with the colors escaping the boundaries of Judy's face?
>>147054711Both.
>>147045799There are furry artists that do better non-porn art of the characters.
What is Judy saying?
>Laughably bad art>Characters are OOCWhat is this shit?
MARY N-
>>147058269*MARTYI actually can't get over Zebrando's uncanny resemblance to Marty. I've read all his dialogue in Chris Rock's voice. He is literally just Marty if he were also Steve Jobs.
>>147047995Makes one of the best nick x judy comics to date, and never makes more. It was like getting to have steak and then having to go back to fast food burgers for the rest of your days.
>>147042211>slippery phoneReminds me of that joke from Big Hero Six that was a riff on that one iPhone model that was slippery
>>147044428I was going to say it as well. By the time the movie came out artists had down pat how to draw her completely movie accurate, 3D artists had models already made, and tons of guides. Not to mention I think Disney insists these characters be drawn with such angles and complexity levels that a chimp can learn to draw their characters accurately.I mean, the art is fine but I think the artists is trying very hard to do it in his own way within acceptable limits.
>>147045848Yeah, you gotta get faster than that to work for the peanuts!
>>147046295Could be worse, the comics themselves could suck. Those Megamind comics were written for babies, I swear.
>>147053055If it was they did a bad job.
>>147046295Do you realize how bad of an idea it is to force people to read a comic to understand the plot of a movie or cartoon?
>>147054146It looks like there is some line weight but it quickly revolves when he was drawing nick into what I think was just a first pass on his tablet.
>>147058269The eyes make him look like he is on bath salts
>>147058533>like getting to have steak and then having to go back to fast food burgers for the rest of your daysKind of like what happened to Tiny Toons and Animaniacs (and Freakazoid) writers. They got super lucky early on and worked on some of the best shows........ only to work on mid stuff and total crap.... for the rest of their careers.
>>147058646A simple reference, or a mention, is all that's needed. A tip of the hat.
>>147058646Star Wars says hi
>>147059304That is Disney Wars (well actually). And MCU started this trend.
>>147058716Anon that's sadly all animators, literally any animator that started between the 90s-00s. Went from being free and open working on stuff that was cool fun and they were allowed to mix a bit of their own unique personalities and ideas into to working on mix of ok to meh to full on cocomelon slop. Also now see their industry is much more toxic and vitriolic. I just saw a twitter thread about a storyboarder drawing some crass joke using a beloved warner character. Like the debates on the old spongebob sketches from the team, and if they were "to far". I couldn't believe I saw actual animators and creatives chastizing the old crews for some dumb doodles. I can't imagine how miserable modern teams are sure it was always a grind and work even back then, but being able to make jokes and write and draw dumb scripts with the team seems like the type of thing that helps you through the day.
^ bot or actual person? Hard to tell at this point.
>>147060884beep boop
I'll give you a suggestion to be less bot-like: be less generic, more specific. It's "writers" not "animators".
>>147051568Is that a Fargo reference?
>>147058621They basically WERE. Comics based on animated movies are written for ages 6-10.
>>147058716Well, if you started with fast food, often you will not appreciate the steak, and fondly recall the junk. Case in point: Dragon Ball Z dub fans when exposed to the source material.
>>147058269Roflmao at that filename. Well done, bro.
