Most likely, any plot will only progress with the season endcaps which might shift the details a bit but otherwise keep things the same status quo.The only reason I could see them making a serialized Bubblegem is if they aren't attracting the young audience but think they can keep their current audience interested, and so try to "age up" the show to keep things interesting. I doubt it would work, and would ultimately fail due to then having no audience, but it's one of the few reasons I could see for them making the change. They do Q&A or educational content with just the VAs and some people working with the models, and the youtube shorts don't even use the VAs. This is certainly not the same quality of animation of the main series (the edu videos are decent, the shorts are pretty bad) but somebody just needs to use the same models they already have and just animated them to some music. They aren't really that similar.They are targeting the same age range, so there's going to be some similarity there. And there are some "daily issues" to solve with Rainbow Bubblegem. But it's mostly a magical girl show and the conclusion revolves around fighting the big evil monster by the end of the episode. The daily problems in Bubblegem are either just silly things which get resolved irrelevant of the monster conflict (like taking pictures for some popularity contest) or feed into the monster fight (characters fighting each other over a competition) or for the first season, involve some character development.There's also a lot less singing in Bubblegem. You've got a great opening song and closing song, but nobody else is really singing anything. True seems like it involves a lot of small songs, either with the wishing tree or just singing about what's going on in the episode at that point.

This was long, long after the Indigo Kingdom got fucked. - Indigo doesn't trust anyone but Purple is super-supportive, while the others were timid to hostile against Indigo for awhile. It's the main reason that Indigo still prefers to hang out with Purple over everyone else.Most of that isn't really spoiler. Most is either in the opening narration for episode 1 or part of a flashback to the same events. The biggest spoilers here are just Indigo existing (she isn't shown in the beginning, but is all over promotional material) and the human fisherman part, which you already mentioned.

If you're watching the full ED, that's just all taken from different episodes. I was pleased to see they kept the photo booth snapshots for the ending on the english episodes, since that wasn't anywhere on the youtube episodes. (Including the livestream which had the first two english episodes.)
