Post comic book mistakes, typos, and egregious factual errors.
>>147117585This one admittedly took me a minute.
>>147117643See if you can figure out what's wrong here.
This is probably the worst one I've ever seen.
>>147117762Lol that's awesome
>>147117585I don’t get it
>>147117788You must think carefully about space...the geometry, the symmetry...
>>147117668That's just embarrassing
Just assume I posted the Superman comic where he uses his "Super Mathematics" to make a rather basic multiplication error.>>147117668I'll admit, I'm not getting this one.
>>147117788He's looking down the periscope with his eye patch. Admittedly, it could be some weird device that *looks* like a periscope but has some sort of small display he could be looking at from a weird angle. The perspective is kinda strange.>>147118099Tolstoy didn't write Crime and Punishment, that was Dostoevsky. If you're not familiar with Russian lit the mix up is completely understandable, but if you're making a direct reference you should double check.
>>147117678Editorial was sleeping on the job
A modern classic.
>>147118183Putler can read?Whoa
>>147118183Ah, makes sense. Kind of embarrassing to reference literature and get the basic facts about it wrong, even if most people reading the comic book aren't going to notice.
>>147117668Clearly written by someone who thinks they're a whole lot smarter than they actually are.
>>147118239If there is a door on the ground as well as the one which seems poorly placed behind a tub, then I think the room is screwy in general instead just a drawing error.
>>147118392It took me a minute.Mainly because Dennis the Menace could be that random at times.
>>147118338Moving collar, right?
>>147118483Nope
>>147118491Is it the color of the guinness? Guinness is famously dark.
>>147118601ye
>>147118338I'm with the other anon, I'm too distracted by the idea that THAT'S supposed to be Guinness.(Guinness is dark as hell.)Also, whiskey can't be aged that long, it'd taste probably like actual shit by that point, aging isn't a universal upgrade in flavor. Plus I guess it's silly he's pouring it like that, splashing so wildly.Guh, I can't really imagine what that whiskey would taste like, it'd just taste like straight wood AT BEST, and all the tannins it'd pick up would guarantee it'd actually be literal poison.
>>147118710pic related has been a thing for a while now, though I concur about the whisky.
Almost anything to do with firearms.
>>147119047Firing the whole catridge is surprisingly common mistake but that also it looks more like a rifle round than a pistol round.
>>147119064I mean they don't even understand how guns work, is it being a rifle round that shocking?
>>147117668Ah, I get it. There's no such thing as black librarians.
>>147119047To be fair, that's most media in general. They did the same thing for the CGI intro for Crysis where it shows the bullets ricochet off his suit, casings and all.
>>147118239If the door opens outward it can still work. It's just awkward as fuck.
>>147118239It's the plunger in front of the door that makes it worse.
>>147118183>but if you're making a direct reference you should double check.Honestly I blame the editor.
>>147117678HO-LEE SHIT!>>147118235When are they ever not?
>>147118247What the fuck am I supposed to be seeing here?
>>147118572What?
inb4 the Sabretooth panel
>>147119528Milkybar is White ChocolateThe wrapping is also always red and white.
>>147119064There are some necked pistol calibers around, but I doubt the platform he's using is running 5.7
>>147119513They got Anubis mixed up with Horus.
>>147119047>Plus, we fire the whole bullet. That's 65% more bullet per bullet
>>147118267It's Mark Millar lol.
Does anyone have the pages from a relatively recent run on Thor where his hammer got stolen and the artist drew him still holding it?
>>147117585>>147117643>>147117788>>147118183I thought the speech bubbles were swapped
>>147117580FF #275, "She-Hulk versus the sleaze publisher," has a typo in the lettercol page (that's never scanned online) where an editor answers a question using the phrase "shut itself off" except a finger hit the key next to U and it says "shit itself off" instead.
>>147117678And this is why you use non-repro blue for flats, kids. That being said regular pencil was used all the time for comments OUTSIDE THE MARGINS.
What did Zyklon Logan mean by this
>>147117580The original....
>>147121630....and the attempted fix in a later reprint.
>>147118239Lovecraftian really
>>147119247But.. why put a bathtube there? Never mind a plunger.
>>147121659She just needed space, ok?
>>147121642Then there's the Plastic Man mini where they're all melted down and it's supposed to have killed them forgetting this has happened countless times with Doc Magnus retrieving their "responsometers" (basically their brains and souls) and reconstructing them i.e. the writer had never read a Metal Men comic in their lives.
>>147121603Someone has GOT to have that!
>>147119561It's Milky Bar, though, not Milkybar.
>>147119047>Almost anything to do with firearmsLet's not let a little thing like factual accuracy get in the way of shitting on firearms in general because "gunz r bad m'kay?"
>>147120037I thought it was gonna be that she looked like she only has four fingers on her right hand, until I read your filename.
>>147121630>>147121642what a strange page
>>147121642Surprised they bothered here. It's just a weird scientific inaccuracy. Is that first panel suggesting the chloroform is like laughing gas?
>>147118239It's not a mistake, it's just an awkward design choice. That's not a door, it's a wall pattern, and the "knob" is a towel rack which you can see is extending across the wall.
>>147118099>rather basic multiplication errorUsing normal math maybe, but it was accurate using Super Mathematics
>>147120050So the anon was right
>>147119047People talk about the casing while I just noticed the bullet cut vertically when the boomerang is spinning horizontally
>>147117762Man, they sure did end up with some weird catchphrases back then.
>>147124224Okay smart guy, how do you explain the door on the floor?
>>147118239That's just your typical Gotham slumlord apartment. I bet you could find pictures of the same shit happening in some NYC apartment right now.
>>147121642>rusty/tarnished goldwell it was a Silver Age book, so you have to cut it some slack
>>147117668Haha, wow. I just started reading. Kinda tense at the start.
This didn't even lead to Spider-Man dying or MJ and Aunt May dying, so there was no reason for it. It was just put in there to justify him having to make some steampunk-looking webshooters to replace his normal ones, which they could have explained by the machines making the capsules no longer working.
>>147118247>>147119881And also confused Set, the actual god Egyptians saw as evil, with Anubis, who was a good guy who leads the dead to the afterlife and judges the goodness of their souls.
>>147125484Same comic had these pages, the first is the end of an issue and the second is the beginning of the next one I think. They clearly gave different instructions for how fucked up Quicksilver was supposed to be.
>>147125484>>147125535What are these from?
>>147125366It's edited
>>147125366You don’t have a door in your bathroom floor?Do Americans really?
>>147125565Dark Ages. Strange opens up a portal to the EMP dimension to stop a great evil and then dies so no one can close it, forcing the world back into "the dark ages" with no electronics. There's a steam-powered Iron Man suit.
>>147125631so Strange killed every patient in every hospital and everyone with pacemakers and other important medical devices?
>>147123889Y'know, I hadn't noticed that. Yes, they are.>>147125386Yeah, but the "correction" was bronze.
>>147125668Oh he killed more than that. The entire world collapses into famine, wars and genocides until the heroes pull things together and create a post-technological utopia somehow. But if he hadn't then the entire planet would have been destroyed.
>>147123372It specifies that it's British chocolate so that's just another mistake.
>>147125380I live in the UK and this is how I'm seeing it.Just some mystery door in a flat: landlord says it was once the airing cupboard, water tank, a closet (instead of a wardrobe), whatever. Just ends up becoming a feature on the wall, cheaper than filling it up. Bookcase ends up in front of it. Don't yous have apartments like this? The ENTRANCE door is on the opposite side (facing the toilet, as is tradition).
I was trying to find an instance in Omega the Unknown by Jonathan Lethem where the words missed a speech balloon and landed in the background, but I couldn't find it. Verth must have fixed it.
>>147126067I don't get it
>>147121621it was actually Madame Hydra speaking
>>147126100My guess would be the gun not showing up on the x-ray, while his eye patch does.
>>147126171his belt buckle isn't visible either, so whatever ray it is clearly only shows organic materials like his clothes and the patch
>>147126067Is it that his gun isn't showing up on the x-ray, but his eyepatch is?
>>147118239https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h58uT_BGV4
>>147126037>mfw it's actually a window with another guy having the same cosmetic crisis
>>147126037tattoo on the head is also mirrored wrong
>>147126306>doesn't know how reflections work.Actually, this is about par for Hal, isn't it?
>>147126306>>147126725Maybe it's that old Hollywood trick: the 'mirror' is actually a hole in the wall, the 'reflection' is the real Hal behind it.
>>147126725Yep
>>147126526And his mouth is clenched closed in one, and wide open in the other.
>>147126100>>147126171>>147126456yeah
awkward!
>>147127380I mean say you're an amputee, blind, whatever. Would you actually 'correct' a common turn of phrase like this?
>>147117678[agreeable grunt]>>147118392damn, dennis is hardcore
a famous one
>>147127471i hear ya, but we all know it was stan who goofed
>>147125437>Big>BoyFor You.
>>147118491>>147118610>>147118710My guess was that he's pouring it into shot glasses while looking straight forwards. But it's probably just the bartender off panel.
>>147117585I thought this was a "see-thru" design choice for a second, kind of like how glasses are often stylized as having eyes in them or Spider-Man's lenses reflect his inner state even though they logically shouldn't.Seeing both characters explains the situation better, so you see both characters.
>>147127475So the error is that there are 'four triplets', right?
>>147126079That's a terrible chess metaphor.I hate chess metaphors because you don't have to be very good at chess to realize that most of the ones that get used are absolute bullshit.Especially visual metaphors by people who don't even know how to move the fucking pieces.
>>147127767yeah. not the only time so they made it canon
>>147127803i mean, the king loses if it's checkmatehe just compared them to pawns and himself to king
>>147127867Yeah except he's phrasing it as if it's GOOD that the checkmate is happening, except if he's the king in this scenario that means he's lost.
>>147127883yeah
>>147127867I thought the person who died was the "King of Darkness" and the second pawn was another character not present. That's even more incomprehensibly bogus than I thought it was.
>>147127867>>147127883>>147127908>>147127919Look, he grew up a hostage in a Turkish palace, there wasn't a lot of chess. It'd be different if we were talking about Parcheesi!
>>147128064more like conway grew up in a shithole
>>147128064Both came from India.
>>147127359Cap just had very low self esteem around that time.
>>147128290Nothing gay about helping your clone bros release some pent up stress
>>147127607This isn't really an error so much as it's not made clear from panel to panel. Eric actually does have two hands, his scythe is worn over the right hand. We're just not seeing him remove his weapon before panel 2, and put it back on again before panel 3.It's a common misconception that he doesn't have a right hand. In the early 90s when Eric was undead, Ultron fused the scythe over his hand, but he's died and been resurrected several times since then, so nobody really knows if it still applies, he may have the use of his hand again.>>147128357It sort of works if he thinks he's going to lose.
>>147121621What was it supposed to be?
>>147127375What's the issue here?
>>147129221Look at Reed's right hand, it's a left hand.
>>147129253Ah, thanks.
>>147129147>UNSOLICITED OPINIONS ABOUT ((SABRETOOTH))
>>147117668Maybe this is an intentional joke.
>>147117668Tolstoy??
>>147117762That would be brilliant comedy if it wasn't a mistake.
>>147119543See: >>147121621>>147129147Killer.
>>147118099>Just assume I posted the Superman comic where he uses his "Super Mathematics" to make a rather basic multiplication error.Spoilers: "Super Mathematics" is black people math so it checks out. Do better, racist anon.
>>147117668That there would be black women walking around in Russia in 1866
>>147127338Hank is just humoring her because he's horny
>>147127522Xavier is the only bald man in the world so Alicia naturally assumed Ben meant him
>>147129885Pushkin's grandfather was black.
This would have been a great thread on a better board.
>>147127338Was this on Stan or Jack?
>>147127375That's just Reed trying to amuse the baby
>>147130493Maybe the symbol is one of those color changing fabrics/dyes that only appear when the suit is dry
>>147129967
>>147131734Still one of the funniest moments ever in a superhero comic.
>>147125437That's just bad art. Not really the same thing.
>>147118338is it the counter? Either it's some weird glass design or everything is floating
This thread just proves that all the stan Lee issues have to be re-written
>>147118338The angels will have had most if not all of that malt by then.
>>147132295What the fuck are you talking about?
>>147132646Lee ruined nearly every issue he was on with over-explaining and shitty dialogue. Reading through them is like watching a bad dub of a good anime
>>147120037To be fair - comics deliberately misspelling stuff to sound ‘cool’ (or trademarkable) is a tale old as tyme.
>>147125074Kek
>>147132669you have shit taste and are a faggot and the fact that you admit to being a weeb proves it
>>147127338>>147131685>>147132669Oh it was all Stan. Those were done the Marvel method. On the other hand, DC worked from full script, which means three adults - writer, editor and artist - thought this was fine.
the colorist turned sunfire into iron man
mysterium armor is colored like the previous one
>>147133709Penguins could fly pre-Crisis.
>>147126189I thought the gun was intentional. Since he's a super-spy and all.
>>147135519Heh
>>147118239She has a door in her floor?
>>147132669Agreed.
>>147126037Good meme format?
>>147132924Go on, read through the lee issues and come back to me with a straight face, I dare you
>>147133709To be fair, men can't normally fly either.
>>147136357The only way to find out is to make a joke with it or do a template and see if others will.
>>147137053What am I meant to be noticing, anon?
>>147136442Based.
>>147137518I'm guessing the fact that those screens don't have speakers. It's been done dozens of time across all media though.
>>147117678
>>147134110Carol's gloves were also yellow for the two issues.
