Predictions? Will it be shit? Will Mike Judge’s voice acting carry the show? Adult swim keeps spamming the fuck out of their ad blocks with it for months and it doesn’t air til February so idk how to feel.
>>
>>147118364
Bump
>>
It will succeed because it has SOUL
And Mike Judge
>>
>>147118364
I like how the title markets itself, seeing how we're about to hear about a lot of "common side effects" that were previously "rare side effect," which were previously "dangerous misinformation."

And remember, we (allegedly) re-elected the man who let it all happen!
>>
>>147118364
As one of those people who's really annoying about psychedelics, I'm pretty excited about it. I'm pretty sure I'm the target demographic.
>>
>>147118364
I'm going to enjoy it, the first episode was pretty good and the premise is fresh.
>>
>>147118364
It feels like a right wing critic of big pharma hidden behind the lens of hippie new age medicine instead of the typical "muh free health care". "Free" college and "Free" health care don't actually keep the prices down.
>>
>>147121404
>right wing critic of big pharma hidden behind the lens of hippie new age medicine
Why can't it just be "hippie new age medicine"? Y'know, the people who were criticizing Big Pharma before you started forming memories.
>>
>>147121437
This came out after COVID and it is an entire show dedicated to this one premise. Also, this is Mike Judge.
>>
>>147121509
>This came out after COVID
Making it more relevant than ever, yes.
>Also, this is Mike Judge
Who's more of the redneck, "Don't fuck with me"-sort of right-wing, which is closer to the hippies than the establishment neocons who don't care about the... let's call them "common side effects," of a mass-scale medical intervention if it means "going back to [new] normal." Hell, we just (allegedly) re-elected one of them, who had a key role in making something like that happen. But I digress...
>>
>>147121643
>which is closer to the hippies than the establishment neocons who don't care about the... let's call them "common side effects,"
So Leftists at the speed limit?

>Who's more of the redneck, "Don't fuck with me"-sort of right-wing, which is closer to the hippies
There is barely any overlap.
>>
>>147121509
Judge strikes me as more center right than full fledge
>>
>>147121690
>So Leftists at the speed limit?
I don't know if you think that's a "gotcha" or what, but it's not about the "left" or "right" when it comes to the Establishment; neocons and neolibs are just each other's controlled opposition. It's why they can run a teledrama about a dangerous, "fascist" businessman turned "outsider" politician, who gets sued and arrested and nearly assassinated twice (or thrice, or however many attempts got "thwarted" before anyone even heard of them), and he still gets "re-elected" to the prestigious role of King Puppet after a four-year gap term with his "sworn enemy" in the perfect position to "lock him up" if he really wanted to. Not to mention the "re-election" campaign being sponsored by McDonald's and UFC, but I digress.
>There is barely any overlap
Still closer. The "ground-level" ideologies have far more in common with each other than the stop-pretending-they're-not-unified cult that meets up in DC.
>>
>>147121741
The whole Left-Right paradigm is just Left and Not Left and the Left keeps moving further Left. Aside from Monarchy, how does anyone define Right-wing besides its opposition to Leftism?

All of this is besides the point. "Free" health care is usually the answer given nowadays.

>>147121802
>I don't know if you think that's a "gotcha" or what, but it's not about the "left" or "right" when it comes to the Establishment
We are talking about an individual not the government.
>The "ground-level" ideologies
What ideology?
>neocons and neolibs are just each other's controlled opposition. I know that it is intellectually gratifying to believe everyone is just a puppet but Trump wasn't pulling picrelated.
>>
>>147121976
>We are talking about an individual not the government
Aha. No, rednecks and hippies both have a set of values and principles, and they both run counter to the "look-we're-wearing-a-different-hat-from-those-guys-you-totally-hate" cult and their Agenda, which includes Mr. Dangerous Outsider (who's always been a friend of the Clintons and shared a laugh with Obama, but please ignore that!). Why do you think he rubber-stamped the RNA bomb that was marketed to normies as "Getting Us Back To Normal!™"?
>What ideology?
See above. It's plural.
>it is intellectually gratifying to believe everyone is just a puppet
What if it's just true? As if these monsters haven't passed down and perfected their craft over thousands of years...
>Trump wasn't pulling picrelated
I can hardly tell what's going on there, to be honest. Looks about as choreographed as what happened in Butler, Pennsylvania (which is, of course, to say "very well"), I'll give it that...

Please don't tell me you're one of those "TRUMP ASSASINATION WAS JUST A PUBLICITY STUNT DOOOOD" retards. I'm asking because you somehow got someone else to humor you and your retardation and I feel kinda bad for him

>>147122280
>TRUMP ASSASINATION WAS JUST A PUBLICITY STUNT DOOOOD
Wow, look at how well that ear recovered! It's almost like nothing hit it at all...

Yes and nothing can change my mind
Trump was always scripted to win this election just like Sleepy Joe was scripted for last time

How does it feel to be so much of a contrarian ass schizophrenic you make moon landing deniers look reasonable. Must feel pretty normal for you actually, if someone being shot on camera in broad daylight with clear view of the shooter committing the act isn't good enough for you then you were probably born retarded
>>
>>147122186
>I can hardly tell what's going on there, to be honest.
This is a page from Watchmen depicting an assassin hired to kill Ozymandias and Ozymandias fighting back using split second decisions. It is later revealed that Ozymandias hired the hit on himself.
>He dives behind the woman to obscure the assailant view
>grabs a metal ornament
>held it in a specific way that to deflect a near point blank shot
>land a clean hit on his head
>jumps into a fountain after the person
>grabs his entire body
>swings him into the metal water spout thus kill him
This is still more believable than Trump faking his assassination attempt by turning his head in a split second window enough to gaze his ear instead of hitting his head.
>>
>>147122398
>>147122430
>you make moon landing deniers look reasonable
Is that a "gotcha"? 'Cause... no, one thing at a time.
>being shot on camera in broad daylight with clear view of the shooter committing the act
Means what, exactly, when the shot he took was like landing a coin in a shot glass from the fifth story of a building?
>um, yeah, he turned his head at the exact nanosecond!
I know! Unbelievable, right? It's almost like it's more likely that he wasn't hit at all, or something...
>>
>>147122489
You should stop being a little bitch and put your theory to the test. Put an apple on your head, ask someone to shoot it from a hundred meters or whatever it was and see if you live to see another day. You won't, in part because you clearly don't go outside or talk to people very much
>>
>>147118364
It does look very good honestly. Looking forward to it as it does have Mike Judge's name on it, and his work has always been very consistent with quality
>>
>>147122537
Is it not entirely possible for a shot to miss completely? Hence, "It's almost like..."

I'm looking forward to Common Side Effects and it seems like [adult swim] is as well, but I'm definitely worried that audiences will fail yet another serialized adult cartoon with a more dramatic angle since it won't be as easy to share humorous clips on Xitter or TikTok or wherever.

What sets it apart from Scavengers Reign though is that it does seem to be a mix of drama with some comedic elements, so maybe I could be proven wrong. Airing on Cable TV as opposed to some streaming service will also help.
>>
>>147123295
scavengers reign is too artsy for your average audience
i think common side effects has broader appeal, being on a popular channel like [as] helps. i don't think it'll be massively popular but it won't be totally obscure either
>>
>>147118364

this stupid thread explains why i'm intentionally planning on avoidng any discussion related to the show
ad i think the designs are annoying to look at. it's detailed but also chibi-esque cutesy which makes the characters feel obnoxious from the trailer they keep airing

>right wing critic of big pharma
what could that possibly be? that they aren't extorting people for capital hard enough?
>>
>>147121976
>the Left keeps moving further Left
Biden was further right on a lot of issues than Reagan. You just define the left/right paradigm as 'number of minorities tolerated' and by that metric and by that metric alone it seems like the left is out of control and you're a hearty centrist
>>
>>147120065
Yes, blame the people for the incident instead of Fauci and those other fuckers.

I did. I even blamed the King Fucker that rubber-stamped it. Don't you read?

>>
>>147124487
>Biden was further right on a lot of issues than Reagan
It's almost like it's just one Party where one half pretends to hate the other, or something.
>>
I liked the first episode so I am gonna watch it. Its weird in a way that's fun and the characters have strong personalities, I have confidence it will be cool. But I don't think it will blow up the way the comedies and superhero shows do.
>>
Can this shitty website go one thread without horrible political opinions? You all sound like a bunch of old men.
>>
>>147125975
it's literally impossible. and /co/ is one of the better ones, even
>>
>>147125975
It's a show with a title that very clearly alludes to some totally-organic-guys events of the last five years. Someone was going to comment on that, and put a few more pins on a few more topics while they were at it.
>>
>>147125953

Where did you see the first episode?

Right wing doesn't really mean anything after the end of Monarchy. Trump didn't fake his assassination attempt.

>>147128440
They are homunculi. They are little people in alchemical and medical illustrations.
>>
>>147129519
>Right wing doesn't really mean anything after the end of Monarchy
Cool. Which one of us was that meant for, exactly?
>Trump didn't fake his assassination attempt
No, Babylon got their pre-appointed King Puppet to put on a show. Keep up.
>>
>>147118364
Is Worthikids working on this? It looks a lot like his art style.
>>
>>147129556
>Cool. Which one of us was that meant for, exactly?
All three. Right wing just basically means not Left thus it is a contradictory amalgamation of ideas rejected by the Left. The Left is a moving target that goes a single direction and calls previous victories as centrist position.

>No, Babylon got their pre-appointed King Puppet to put on a show. Keep up.
Or someone missed Trump & the elites aren't all powerful.

>>147129702
It look like it with a bigger budget.

>>147128440
>>147129519
More specifically the homunculi are supposed to be both the patient and an anthropomorphic representation of the biological functions of the body and how it reacts to medicine.
>>
>>147118364
I am very excited for it. Great voice cast and nice colour palette and I am a fan of the rotoscope-but-not art style. Reminds me of Carson Mells early stuff and maybe even worthikids. The only thing I am not looking forward to is every discussion thread inevitably being co-opted by covid/vax bullshit.

Surprised to find out they wanted to do multiple seasons, I had the impression it would just be 1, curious to see how the writers stretch the story if AS greenlights it for more
