Do you think modern internet would change him in any way, or would he behave exactly the same?

His knowledge of porn shall be unlimited

He'd be a lot more racist
>>
>>147128660
His references to media would be different but honestly he'd act the exact same

I don't understand why, for a lack of a better word, "ancient" internet even turned him into that, it was relatively mild.
>>
>>147128696
I think the idea is that the internet was always just random nonsense.

I was thinking more from a writing perspective if they would force Freakazoid to make meme jokes cause that's "what the internet is now".

The internet isn't a fun place to escape anymore, it's a much more bitter place. Yeah, there were always trolls and nerds complaining, and some fucked up communities. Animaniacs and The Simpsons famously made fun of those nerds. But it wasn't a constant part of our everyday life and it wasn't an endless battle between for countries and groups trying to psyop you on a massive scale.

Freakazoid would've been roughly the same up until 2007, then gradually gotten worse after that. Modern Freakazoid with be a darker figure, though still having some goofy randomness thrown in.

More sexier.

Modern Internet Freakazoid would be Gypsy Crusader with superpowers.

So, closer to his inspiration Madman then?

I kind of want to draw this concept

Isn't implied Dexter kinda quit his life and spend most of his time as Freakazoid? He barely appear in S2
>>
>>147129506
With how shitty and unfulfilling his normal life was, could you blame him?
>>
>>147129506
It's less implied and more just very obvious the writers were bored with Dexter and his whole family.
>>
>>147129534
I don't know why, I was in love with him as a kid
>>
>>147129541
I imagine it's mostly that Dexter himself is generally too mild-mannered and passive as a character unless his love interest Steff is involved, and his relationship with his family is funny in an awkward "you can smell the raw disappointment" way. Generally less material to work with than Freakazoid himself, who has enough inherent drive to action and weirdness to outright make an entire episode based around his hands dating. Dexter isn't bad, he's just less interesting than his counterpart.
>>
>>147129611
To be fair, Dexter is a remnant of when the show was conceived as a superhero show played straight. The secret identity, the mild-mannered persona, the love interest in love with the alter ego, it's all there; but it was all discarded when the show became a comedy
>>
>>147129701
Makes sense. Which is a shame, if only cause it'd be easy to pivot Dexter's role in the show to something like being the half of his personality that keeps Freakazoid actually focused on stopping the bad guy instead of solely screwing around with Cosgrove
>>
>>147129364
Go for it, could be cool
>>
>>147129506
I thought it was more implied that Freakazoid just took over.
We saw Freak force transformations before. Dexter's been bullied his whole life and never really fought back.
Dexters family didn't really notice him missing
>>
That was quite a jolt, Freak

The idea of Freakazoid as a separate person from Dexter always weirded me out a bit. I guess it's kinda like Hulk and Bruce Banner? Depends on the episode I guess. There's the one gag where Dexter is shown living in Freakazoid's head, while in other episodes Freakazoid talks about being Dexter/Dexter being his secret identity.

My concept is that Freakazoid has to interact with the online world, that he's kind of an entity that only exists online in order to save the internet and it would be primarily aimed at adults. He would be more ironypoisoned and shitposty, maybe edgy but ultimately a good guy with this still causing some conflict. Then Dexter Douglas has to deal with the fallout of his alter ego in the real world.

Hell of a lot different, the old internet was more like the wild west before it got corporatitized
