Boo found her.

>ded five minutes and the memories are already on her ass
Cute that she's thinking of Nary. Also this kinda looks like the Khert before the memory system was made.
>>
>>147129779
It's not strange to think of your loved ones when you're dying or think you're about to die.

What's unfortunate is that Nary couldn't give a care as to Sette's fate. If she's dead, he'll shrug it off. In some ways, he's already walked away from her.
>>
We should all be so lucky to be loved as Boo loves Sette.
>>
>>147129816
>Still doubting Nary
Cold as he is, there is something in him that loves that lion girl. I doubt he will cry or even show much surface emotion. Had she been done in by a corporeal being might have even sent a hitman to get revenge.
>>
>>147129850
>>Still doubting Nary

He loved her when she was little. But she never grew. The older she got, the more she became a burden and a liability. All the dreams he'd have put on her died because she never grew up. His heart hardened. At this point, if Sette returns home, it'll be to an empty house and a Bodkin-led gang that wants to string her up, and Nary's fine with that.

Ash has been pretty clear about him on her Tumblr asks. Everyone wants to find some spark of humanity in Nary... but he's too much what he is to be anything else now. He cares for nothing but himself. The part of him that loved that little lion-tailed girl is gone.
>>
I wonder if Sette always knew her worst days were looking for her, all the way back even at the Nevergreen. Those eels and pain babies knew those memories were searching for her.
>>
>>147129832

Lies.
>>
>>147129995
No. Boo's love is pure.

Sette has never once commanded Boo to love her.
>>

>Believing Ashley's lies
It remains to be seen how getting a promotion in life will effect Nary. His biggest issue has always been being stuck as two-bit gangster in a shit ass town. Will it be worth the life of his child?
>>
>>147130041
>Will it be worth the life of his child?
If she's his, she'll make her way.

If she doesn't make it, then she ain't his. And he don't got to worry about her.

>memory system

Every time someone uses a term like that, or we get the details of the Inaks and how they know things like molecular biology and germ theory, it makes me wonder if maybe this comic has been crypto-sci-fi all along. Pymary is an awful lot like a programming language.
>>
>>147130035
She even once said she had no use for spider love.
>>
>>147130137
That has been a popular theory especially when the makers were talked about. However we will never know because Ashley has said she will never reveal the exact nature the world. She is always big on readers drawing their own conclusions.

There are a shit ton of clues that this universe is some kind of computer simulation. I'm tempted to make one of those conspiracy boards just to lay them all out. Functionally it all results in a setting that is pretty fucking unique. The things that pymary does put the popular technology on a timeline totally different from ours, so they have some medical tech that is better, some worse. They don't have electricity or fossil fuels but they don't need them. Even what it does to gender roles is kind of insane. With pymary, childbirth is easy and safe and women can cast as well as men, so somewhere like Cresce seems feasible. And it makes sense that Alderode tries to keep magic from women.

This comic is good stuff

I usually don't have anything to add, just that I enjoy reading the comic.

Sette :(
>>

I feel you, bro. I feel you.

Sette. :(

So do all incarnations of Sette end up with the Tirna face pattern in their spirit form?
>>
>>147130440
They do seem to, yeah. I don't think this is how Sette sees herself, so it must be inherent to her.

Please do, anon. I feel similarly, but don't got the time nor sufficient erudition to prep something like that, and it'd be cool to see it.

I also definitely remember Ashley saying many times that how pymary functions was inspired by her own coding experience and stuff like the console commands in Morrowind.
>>
>>147130137
It wasn't just pymary. The senet beasts are also basically subroutines designed for set functions.

>it makes me wonder if maybe this comic has been crypto-sci-fi all along
The line between science fiction and fantasy can be quite thin. Sometimes the only difference is aesthetic.

Something I've been wondering.
We know that Tbird did everything regarding this plan in a roundabout way exactly because there were no memories of Sette in the khert.
What's going on with this dead Sette, then? If her memories are in the khert then they've always been there.
>>
>>147131291
Since Sette memories stay whole after death they might follow the timeline bubble rules of only appearing once Tittybird's timeline reaches the corresponding point in reality when the given Sette dies.
And Settes staying whole might just outright prevent their memories from getting caught up in the detritus of the khert and being collectible by Ilganyag.
>>
Would sette and jinx go well together, they both have daddy issues and abusive sisters
>>
>>147131291
1. Sette’s memories don’t split apart, so Tittybird can’t find them. They’re all contained within Sette’s ghost.

2. The memories Sette has ripped out are likely not useful— they’re bad memories to Sette but pointless junk to Tittybird.

I swear if this turns into a Guilded Age situation I'm ordering a hit on Cope.
>>
>>147131439
I don’t know enough about the Guilded Age to comment on that, but:

* We do know pymary was designed for human use in mind, based on how it works and describes things
* the Coldlands are implied to be something akin to the khert’s server room
* volcanoes don’t work normally in this world because of something wonky that hasn’t yet been revealed

That being said: we also know that if the khert disappeared tomorrow, the world would still exist and run. You just wouldn’t have pymary. It’s like an extra layer placed over reality, not what’s running reality itself.
>>
>>147131439
It could just be that she was pulling from what she knows when she designed the magic system.
>>
>>147130531
>I don't think this is how Sette sees herself
Sette strongly identified with Tirna even when alive, though.
>>
>>147131610
Notably, she did specifically reject *being* Tirna.
>>
>>147131610
Per Ashley’s Patreon response to someone else:

> Just like ghost!Duane is his glowy green self if he's not attempting to project anything else, this is Sette's default ghost form. Mostly red, half black face. It's how she was made.
>>
>>147131694
Interesting. I thought it was just shading

>>
>>147131721
Nah, it’s wrong for shading. If it were shading it would be a darker shade of red. This is pretty clearly coded as black.
>>
>>147131721
Anon, I don’t mean this sarcastically, but: is there any chance you might be color blind for red?
>>
>>147129816
He cares in his own way, I think. But it's not good enough, and she's going to remember that soon. Maybe it passes for Sharteshanian love, but she's had normal, unconditional love since then. Her grief is about to get a lot more complex.
>>
>>147129995
Similar to how Khette is reprogramming Duane to love only her...
>>
>>147129816
>>147132543
>He cares in his own way, I think.
He cares so far as he believed that his weird lion-daughter was his ticket out of his two-bit Sharteshanian mafia life, an object to be used and useless if it can't live up to expectation.
