Pretty boring, desu. There's really nothing to distinguish this from any previous Weapon X style story. While assuming there'll probably be some grand reveal down the line that this Ultimate Wolverine isn't actually a Logan, there still isn't much here to get you invested in this new alternate version. This issue is just one long fight scene, with occasional flashbacks. It doesn't really set anything up at all. I'm not intrigued. I mean, the height of worldbuilding here is that the opposition is called "the Opposition", which really tells you everything.

I'm surprised by the reaction to this here. Fuck it, I liked it. This is one of the better Wolverine designs I've seen in a long time. The art is incredible, love Cappuccio. It's a solid enough concept with a light twist with the deaths, and it does feel like it's building up to something (Like anons said, costume, no clear identity or shot of his face when he was recovered, no claws in the tank, etc.). People complain about the decompression in some of the other books, which I've felt were mostly paced okay, and then now they're complaining it gets right to the action.If you're telling me Wolverine diving out of a plane for a parachuteless HALO jump and viscerally slaughtering dudes in a watercolor-ish dynamic art style under a full orange moon isn't sick as fuck, you've lost the joy of comics in your heart. This is the first issue, have patience. And fuck's sake, it's better than any Krakoa bullshit we've put up with for years.
