Ewings Blogpost this week>https://al-ewing-writes-comics.ghost.io/150125/
Majority of the artist choices in this issue seem intentionally picked by Ewing as a way to call back to previous comics>>147130694>Dan Jurgens on the page with Magni, referencing his run on Thor as well as the fact that he's Magni's creator>>147130726>Valerio Schiti on the page with Sif, referencing his run with Kathryn Immonen on Journey Into Mystery>>147130737>Juann Cabal on the page with Athena, referencing his run with Ewing on Guardians of the Galaxy>>147130753>Leonard Kirk on the page with Odin, referencing Avengers Inc. (also written by Ewing)>>147130764>CAFU on the page with Jane Foster, referencing his run on Jane Foster: Valkyrie (also written by Ewing, later by Gronbekk)>>147130776>Martín Cóccolo on the page with Utgard-Loki, referencing Immortal Thor #1-7>>147130779>Lee Garbett on the page with Loki, referencing Loki: Agent of Asgard (also written by Ewing)>>147130784>Humberto Ramos on the page with Alvi Brorson, referencing his run on Strange Academy>>147130788>David Baldeón on the page with Blackjack O'Hare, referencing the Immortal Thor Infinity Watch Annual
>>147133533yeah, Wally basically ran so fast he broke over the limit of the Superhero Curse, the Illusion of Change
>>147137702yeah, as "reformed" God of Lies, his woman look was just an illusion. As God of Stories and Skald of the Realm, Loki is Whatever the Story Needs.
>>147138324>Thor abused the transitive property to force Worthiness unto Toranos.Man.This description is GOLD and that whole arc is worth just for this.
>>147138594Wow, that is really well done and I totally would've kept missing it without the heads up. Thanks!
>>147130716>You need not changeTHEN WHY WOULDNT YOU FUCK HIM? Hell, you knew about his condition BEFORE he went on that Muspelheim field trip.
>>147138828It gets even funnier because the Creator of all DC loves Wally because his biggest creation will always be Speedsters.
>>147138917I think Ewing is trying to retcon it that it was Bill's lack of confidence and self pity that gave Sif the ick?Not sure if it works though, because Thor has had his sulky moods in the past and I don't recall that driving Sif away.
>>147138828When was this? It sounds self-indulgent especially if it doesn't accompany a priority shift in DC management, but still a fun read.
>>147138961When is Bill getting a new Stormbeaker? If Thor can dual wield, so can he.
>>147130737So that makes two of Odin's children who can hear Loki's narration? Even if he's kind of redundant, I hope Ullr sticks around.
>>147138990that's been his thing since the original Crisis: he went from sidekick to Legacy and he DID REMAIN as such, marrying and having kids.Even getting retconned by Flashpoint wasn't enough to stop him, and he ran until he got back in continuity, later running back his family and getting back his position as The Flash and even getting more kids.Wally DID experienced change, not just the illusion of itThe closest thing to Wally that Marvel has is, aside Loki himself, The Thing.I hope his kids are here to stay because they are a good addition to Ben's life and story potential.
>>147139080for context, Johnny Storm is one of the most cursed heroes, cursed to forever "growing up" from scratch at every change of author
What are the odds of this character being referenced at some point during this run? Thor authors are pretty bad about continuity (we've gotten like 6 origin stories for Mjolnir and seen Thor lifitng it for the frst time at like 4 different ages) so I don't see anybody BUT Ewing ever referencing how Odin's lost eye used to fly around and tell stories and use "EYE" as a personal pronoun
>>147139116Man what was even the point of Original Sin if we already had this guy?
>>147139116maybe if you ask in a letter it might come up later in the run
Isn't Thor supposed to get a 3rd item? The first two were the axe and the belt
>>147139152Thor authors don't keep track of continuity. at all. Asgard has a worse continuity than any DC character, but writers pay so little attention they don't even bother to retcon things. so comic fans just kind of don't notice. like how Odin had an entire armory of weapons that work against Celestials, even though we saw in Thor 300 that none of his weapons were effective against Celestials
>>147139154send a letter to the editor, eh? Do you do that via email these days?
>>147139180Not him but yes. I've gotten a few letters published before. Spider-Man for example, and Immortal Hulk
>>147139158Yeah but he got pissy at Loki expanding the trials to Special Guest Appearances and banished Loki from his sight before doing the third one. So stay tuned for Thor to go blind I guess.
>>147139232I would assume its still coming. If actual Norse myth tracks, it'd be a ring, right?
>>147139308I thought it was gloves?
>>147139375I might be thinking of Odin's ring
>>147130779Have we seen these so-called "harmless adventures" or is Ewing throwing a bone to other writers in the future wanting to include Loki?
>>147139669most likely referring to other books yet to come out, like the Strange book
>>147140094yeah i think thier an alt cover for that book that shows Loki in his Agent of Asgard outfit so im guessing it a reference to that book
>>147139190Huh, neat>Spider-Man for example,Did you manage to tell Spider-Editorial what a bunch of unlikeable fuck ups they are?
>>147130770Baldur used to matter right? Like thirty years ago?
>>147140384Not since.....JMS I want to say?
>>147130795Isn't the old Bloodaxe still sitting around in Avengers Mansion since Thunderstrike got it back on 1993-94?
>>147130753He is not possessing mjolnir any longer?
>>147138594Wasn't Juan Frigeri the artist of Ewing's GotG? The guy doing the current Ultimates book.
>>147130743Ok so Skurge was already dead and in Valhalla, Odin sent him back to steal Thor's death. Wonder why he has such personal stakes on it? He already had his own glorious death, from Avengers Inc. and this it basically seems like he's doing a favor to Odin, who isn't even all father anymore.

>>147146534if I recall correctly Ewing planned something else but that got shot down by Marvel Editorial whatever it was, and then his backup plan fell through, so he asked Gillian if he could tease Enigma in Defenders and Gillian said go for it.
>>147146655Well, I'd say that's probably a sign Ewing wants to wash his hands of the whole thing. But hey, Ewing is apparently willing to try to salvage the Black fucking Winter so who knows? It's actually kind of tragic looking at it from the outside, and watching Ewing desperately try to stitch together all of Marvel canon into something coherent and interesting when all the other writers are absolutely not interested.
