I wouldn't even care about the art in the OP if you told me it was hand drawn with paints made from hand made oils and pigments.
More charm and aesthetically pleasing design in this drawing of Melusuine than hyper detailed, realistic art.

>WAAAAHHHHHH BOOBS IS THE HEIGHT OF ART

>>
>>147136128
It's slop because there was no meaningful input from the person that "created" the image. Digital drawing is fundamentally the same as it is using a physical medium, it's just a digital simulacrum. The same difference between MS Word and a typewriter or even pen and paper, you have control over ever letter put to page regardless of medium so it's *your* work ultimately. Genslop is not.

>>
>>147136353
It's the opposite. People who spend hours and hours on highly rendered images are sweating because this is good enough for companies to not want to spend the money on them, and their art is generic enough that AI can replace them.
People who draw"lol relatable" quirk chungus comics aren't sweating because AI isn't trying to imitate them.

The problem is that they both look like shit but with AI there's an endless deluge of it as opposed to a trickle. >>
>>147136514
Shit is shit, regardless of source, ai shit is just far more annoying by the frequency of the spam and absolute lack of curation. That and none of the spammers actually are capable of fixing any mistakes that were generated the first time, which most guys could do in a photo editor in a few minutes. They just throw a tantrum when people point the flaws out and scream "THE TECH WILL GET BETTER, YOU'LL SEE" instead of noting that flaw in their process so they can work on keeping it from popping up in later images down the line.

It's the principle of having a general thread to begin with. The purpose and point of the thread are presented upfront, so nobody needs to debate the point. Technology isn't limitless. Especially in media. AI doesn't actually understand what it's making or whether what it's making is good. It can only go so far. A lot of experts say it's already reached its peak. And even that competency will take a dive once the net is full of slop and AI starts to "learn" from slop, making even worse slop.

Lol you actual Indian street shitter all AI does is try to morph static into something resembling whatever material was fed into the model. It ONLY can give a subpar version of something a human made/fed it. It's a fundamental limitation that it will never overcome.
>>
>>147137562
You conveniently ignored the most important part of my post. Sure, AI will continue to improve on things like math and physics. But not creative things. Because there are no strict laws there to guide it. It cannot create quality art without the capacity to understand what art is. The more creative it tries to be, the worse the output. The more derivative it is, the better, but that defeats the purpose, since you can just watch whatever it's ripping off because it will be infinitely better. All better calc speed will do is make AI create shitty slop faster, not better. AI conscience would precede quality AI art, and by that point we'll have bigger problems than AI slop.

Probably the weirdest thing about AIfags I've noticed is that it feels like at their roots, they've got the makings of a super-fringe religious fundamentalist that foams at the mouth looking for more recruits, but bizarrely enough, it intertwines with very visible secular science, like very clearly hard science that was clearly invented with their lifetime.
It's the most uncanny thing witnessing these super-emotional meltdowns like you just lobbed the gravest insult possible towards a statue of the Virgin Mary, but instead it's coming from someone that thinks that his computer is some kind of magic wand.

In fact, it's becoming ever so common to use synthetic or AI generated responses for its training now. Humans are not needed going forward.

Hello, I actually have some perspective in this.

I work in an online book distributor. We take content from our various partners, repackage them, and distribute them for mass market.
As you can imagine, this includes a lot of self-published titles, or from rather... innovative, we'll call them, partners that have allowed AI content.
We haven't fully integrated AI text prompting into our QC, but there have been talks of it, purely because a lot of these self-published scammers want to flood our catalog with unreadable garbage with AI illustrations.
It looks terrible. We axe that whenever it comes in because it's trash. Given that I have literally never seen these books anywhere else, I could imagine most other companies are doing the same.

I am aware that I'm talking about picture books, not movies, but believe that I still have grounds to make a statement here since currently picture books can as of right now be created as a complete product.
Feel free to ">dude trust me," but I don't care to get fired posting a pic of my office.

TL;DR: (you) are not making money off of AI art. You are being thrown out with every other scammer.

Considering it's copying from their work without proper reference or compensation, that's completely apples to oranges.

>That's where the double standard comes from unless they also get all the Akira copies banned as well.

You misunderstand the nature of my job.
We work b2b. We are buying your books, or rather you (the vendor) send us your material for us to distribute if it passes out QC.
The case is the reverse of what you state; AI products need to pass our QC to even make it through the next stages of our sales pipeline.
AI does not generate good enough content. It's laughable nonsense which loses the charm and novelty the fiftieth time one of our media inspectors catches it.

The only novel thing if you'll pardon the pun about your tantruming is asking why someone would choose to read a book offered over ChatGPT, since this extends to a lot of our other questions with our catalog offers ("why would a customer choose one book over another"). The sad truth is that author recognition drives sales more than content quality. There's already hundreds of thousands of books out there, better than the slop you're barfing up with chatbots.
To put it another way, your 'business' is competing for the scraps of whatever appeared on Oprah and Booktok and losing, and anyone whose an avid reader is going to care about quality too much to be humored by chatbot ravings.

You just described all Artists.

For hundreds of years Human did not even know how to draw perspective properly until one man figured it out.

This confirms this incredibly abnormal feeling I've been getting where, kind of like what some people already said about AIfags really just being extremist religious zealots in a trenchcoat, the people worshipping this stuff seem to think that every invention ever made just... ontologically phased into existence, somehow. They think that the PCs and phones and all the other shit they used miraculously willed itself to life while filthy pitiful humans just keep reinventing the wheel, because if humans only copy things, what could they invent besides the wheel indefinitely? That explains why you guys seem to "think" it's all magic, it's because you actually for real think it's literal arcane sorcery that humans defiled, like you're living in this twisted amalgamation of fantasy and sci-fi.

>The only novel thing if you'll pardon the pun about your tantruming is asking why someone would choose to read a book offered over ChatGPT, since this extends to a lot of our other questions with our catalog offers ("why would a customer choose one book over another").

Like everything in life, it's to fulfill a need or gap in the market.

If I'm the only one who wrote a book about "Dragons fighting Shrek" and you don't carry it but someone is interested, what's stopping me from selling my story to them in private?

I'm completely circumventing whatever market or sector you belong to.

I could even set up my own bookstore or e-market place, the result is still the same.

As long as people can find me, or I can find them and give them exactly what they need, I really don't care what you think of me.

It's the same with the AI images. The reason tons of these AI Patreon accounts are so successful is because they captured a market that traditional artists refused to provide.

AI offers new service opportunities and that's where the money is. Not old fashion storefronts like Blockbuster that use to be popular but fizzled out because of new technology...

>claiming one man invented perspective
Sadly, I know what you're referencing, and that's absolutely incorrect. Filippo Brunelleschi created linear perspective, he didn't create the art of implying distance in drawings. The ancient romans had their own version of perspective in art, and asian countries developed planar perspective. And even then, it took Fillipio the use of advanced mathematics and many years of making his own drawings to develop this as a skill, he didn't steal anyone else's drawings to accomplish it and claim it as his own.

Even your own attempts to "own" the haters with art history is uninformed, outright spurious, or downright fictional. How do you even live with yourself?

You proved my point idiot. None of those previous attempts at drawing distance is accurate or considered relevant today.

Of course in 2025 there is no need to reinvent this a second time because as you said, his method is mathematically sound.

But that's exactly what Artists copied if they want to make more realistic results.

You wont get 3D art if you stuck to being a Caveman.

AI can already make 3D models.

Combined with automatic rigging, there is no reason why it can't animate this easier.

That is typically how a lot cartoons and anime do it anyway. Drawing a giant robot it by hand was always inefficient.

Hundreds or even thousands of years from now when Kids are asking their robots to make them art, a piece of me will live on inside of this forever.

There actually is nothing stopping you from uploading that to fanfiction.net. Gives our QC people a little more time to clean data.
I do stress that it's a very unrealistic and, frankly, rather arrogant assumption that there's already an existing market that would knowingly purchase the AI's book.
Not just with books, but with all indie media, the presumption that a product will just find a large audience happens about as often as AI writing a good novel (never). As stated before, it's mostly the name that decides it for our case.
I do appreciate the subtle nod in that example of yours, as if knowing that AI is driven by the theft of intellectual property.

>Is there any AI model which does not use artwork or images created by another human being? And if so, then why aren't people using that?

Because every Artist uses references in order to craft their ideas.

When you don't, you end up with Dürer's Rhinoceros.

A 16th century artist who never saw the animal before and ended up hallucinating the results.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%BCrer%27s_Rhinoceros

>Dürer's Rhinoceros is the name commonly given to a woodcut executed by German artist Albrecht Dürer in 1515.[a] Dürer never saw the actual rhinoceros, which was the first living example seen in Europe since Roman times. Instead the image is based on an anonymous written description and brief sketch of an Indian rhinoceros brought to Lisbon in 1515.[2] Later that year, the King of Portugal, Manuel I, sent the animal as a gift for Pope Leo X, but it died in a shipwreck off the coast of Italy. Another live rhinoceros was not seen again in Europe until Abada arrived from India to the court of Sebastian of Portugal in 1577.[3]

Someone in this thread accused me of not knowing art history but I bet your ass I know a lot more than you guys do.

You have this weird idea that if a item or object isn't sold immediately it must be fake.
>>
>>147139527
>But now we have effectively tracing machines
That's not how it works retard. It's not tracing anything. When you ask a model for an image it starts from scratch without using any particular artwork as reference.
The training material is mostly used so that the AI can assign the necessary weights to understand natural language, so that it knows what someone who asks for "blonde hair" actually means. But the model doesn't search for a picture with blonde hair and copy it.

>>147139484

Gonna stop you there anon, it's not a "reference" if a direct copy of the original picture is right there inside the robot's brain, even if it's been reduced to nothing but data points since otherwise it's just meaningless pixels in a sea of them.

The irony of you using complaining about how faulty Dürer's Rhinoceros was is that this is how AI art looks from the way you idiots keep presenting it; Some jackoff gives a written description of something to an intelligence that has zero conception of what the final product should look like, it tries its damndest based solely off key words, the end slop gets sold as high art and extolled as an "accurate" depiction, and then the guy who bought it is left being ridiculed as an idiot for believing that's what a fucking rhino is once an actual accurate portrait is made later by someone who's actually seen a real rhino. 2D mecha is the best-looking mecha though. 3D is already easy for humans to do but most hesitate to draw them 2D now. If cost-cutting is the main focus of art then it will never reach its peak.
If AI can faithfully recreate the hand-drawn mecha styles of the 80s/90s in high quality OVA-level animation, then I will consider it to truly be good. Ideally, it should surpass the consistency and detail of human creations.
>>
>>147139892
Latent space is proximity based embedding of a set of items within a manifold space. So essentially you have a group based around a certain idea, like say, big anime titties, and then the individual items (the stolen art you insist doesn't exist) is organized based around its proximity to that idea. so the more big anime titties in the pic, the closer it is to the core idea. Your next response is NUH UH THAT'S NOT IT.

Even those fake Pixar memes made with AI are still rendered out faster than the time it takes the studio to finish a movie.

AI drawing 2D mecha is actually not a challenge at all. I would even argue it might not even need 3D references to do it either.

Ok, so you lied about your experience and I can pinpoint every inaccuracy you made.

1. Latent space does involve embedding data points in a manifold space but it’s more about capturing the essential features and variations in the data rather than just proximity-based embedding.
2. It does not group items based on "ideas" but on learned features and patterns from the training data.
3. It does not involve copying stolen art. The model learns abstract features from the data without directly copying images.
4. While similar items may be closer in latent space, it's not about proximity to a "core idea" but about the features that the model has learned.

Do you want to try again or do you really believe that's how latent space works? Why don't you break down the math for us if you're so informed?

someone was wondering why obscure characters barely get shit from AIfags but I think this actually sums it up
if you're a shitposter like Toby and your character has essentially zero actual references to draw from then it's basically all fanart, but everyone is drawing so differently that the AI has no idea what to actually do so it just keeps spitting out random designs that vaguely match the profile based on all the fanart getting globohomo'd together

If people watch South Park & Family Guy's cheap slop "animation" then they will watch AI.
Companies are just up their own ass, that's why they refuse to copy Epithet Erased.
Companies are just up their own ass, that's why they refuse to copy Skibidi Toilet.
It's better for them to simply not make stuff nobody cares about if the internet took over television.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UICB_eZ0xpU&ab_channel=AllenArtificial

Big companies are getting filled with ESLs & Gen-Z who would choke on a paperbag.
It's time for the talented to grab the reigns again and rediscover technologies and fix current technology:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQuIVsNzqDk&ab_channel=CorridorCrew

Right now AI sucks because you don't have the source files, it refuses to create source files.
The pajeet dumbasses didn't think about how important it is to have the source files of them. They're only now thinking about putting the AI in a Matrix/an environment for it to learn what works and what doesn't ... something a white man would have come up with 90 years ago.
A white man also wouldn't have coded AI in Python, neither fed the AI on the internet, neither not employ filters for the neuronal networks before feeding it on useless internet trash. Idiocracy was wrong about stupidity being genetic, it's spreading. Jews do not care about quality.

>So is AI good?
Yes, just like robots are good, just like religion is good, just like politics are good, but not in the hands of morons with 69 IQs such as pajeets and gen-Z.
Notice how pajeets and ESL(Elon Musk) never watched or understood anything about robots and hence are making mistakes they have been warned about by white people 90 years ago across 90 years.
Robots/automatons/golems such as Pinnochio have been a concept since way before trains were invented. They were a concept since clocks were invented.

Thing is, you can't shut Pandora's box now that it's open. For better or worse AI is here to stay on the internet. These generation models are popping up faster and faster all over the internet. Even the most basic normies have some initiation on how to use this shit now. Eventually it will bleed into the production pipeline for animation even if it's for smaller pieces of it to save on costs for the backgrounds. It's shit but it's just reality now, all we can do is make peace with it and hope it's used intelligently to make things better (it won't be.)

For about 2 and a half years now AI image generation has clearly been good enough to where you could feasibly just redraw over it and make some sort of comic, but looking at a thread like this it's no wonder that no actual new IP comes out of this crap - it's like literally NOTHING besides the iconography of a technically-moving image matters.

It can be both.

Humans have been fighting and trying to wipe each other out for thousands of years.

Millions of people before me never even got to see the invention of the Car or Airplanes. Yet a "make cartoon button" would have instantly shattered their minds.

Because most of the people saying AI will finally allow them to create never had the ambition to create in the first place.
The thing about people who end up being artists is, they were attempting to create even when they sucked at it. Comic artists have shitty comics drawn in notebooks when they were 6, animators have rudimentary animations they made when they were 9, movie makers made shitty home movies, etc.
If you're like 27, you wanted to make something, but never put anything together or attempted more than some early starts and gave up, having AI isn't going to change things. You're just going to make novelty images for yourself, and that's fine.

This is going to border on what >>147141176 said, but the honest impressing I get is that techbros never wanted to "make" something, even though that's one of the typical propaganda points - what they really, truly wanted is just an infinite CONSUMABLE PRODUCT machine. A literal 24/7 deluge of visual images, bright lights, flashing colors, random sound effects, like autoplay short-form video content farm sewage, but even worse. It's not about if it's even "good" per se, it's about having some kind of constant stimulus to react to starting indefinitely at a screen until they unconsciously pass out, then getting back up and starting the whole cycle again.

But even then, part of me genuinely thinks they don't even really "like" AI, or what they generate from it, I honestly get this impression of this platonic obsession with the ability to generate a theoretically endless amount of "content", like a dopamine rush every time some new image or clip is spat out. Have you ever seen screencaps of some of those guys on Deviantart that have 30,000, 40,000, even 50,000+ AI-genned images uploaded to their accounts? Think about what's going on there for a second: these guys are, at bare minimum, generating roughly around one hundred images baseline, and then uploading ALL of them onto the platform, literally every single day. Even if it's [popular character] (big boobs) generations, I just can't see someone like this actually jacking off to (literally, but also figuratively) what they've made - it's the fact that they -can- make it that's made them go bananas. It's basically an elaborate power fantasy, and when you have someone like the guy here constantly droning on about how he'll make infinite "movies" I get that same impression; it's not about actually watching any of it, it's about just constantly making them, uploading them, and filling up as many storage devices as possible, all for the sake of getting an infinite rush.

>So what is the utility in AI-gen art? Rapid prototyping of a concept? Where is the refinement, because the current "randomness" or blended amalgamation of every AI generation is unrepeatable.

The utility is being able to generate high quality art without needing or paying for a second party.

That in itself is worth gold. People can finally express themselves with no limits.

>People can finally express themselves with no limits.
There already were zero limits on creativity, but even in terms of pure technical skill, AI is far more restrictive than doing it yourself because you ultimately have limited control over what it decides to spit out, no matter how lengthy your prompts are. You can give it extremely detailed instructions to create a slutty 3D cartoon girl if you want, but unlike if you were making it yourself, the AI still makes the final decision as to how it looks. You might be able to create with little skill, but you're still relinquishing a greater degree of personalization in favor of efficacy.

Even in terms of commissioning someone else, you still have more control over the final product than with AI, because the human mind will always have a better understanding of what you want from it than a machine ever can. A human can read the text "3D animation of slutty cartoon girl" and immediately understand what it represents, because they know what all those words mean on their own and what they would signify when placed together in that order. The AI, on the other hand, has to sort through extensive datasets to determine which images it's been fed are associated with terms such as "3D", "slutty", "girl", etc. Regardless of its capabilities, it's still a mindless machine that can't ever truly know what any of those words mean.

Sorry but that's outdated information. You can plug in existing references or ideas and AI will follow them consistently.

It's not actually a random text prompt. That is for giving instructions to the camera or changing the poses.

This wont last much longer, probably. Think of where AI art was even a year ago compared to where it's at now. People used to make fun of how grotesque the hands/eyes/limbs that these generators would spit out were. Now, it mostly looks fine unless you're looking directly at it and you notice a pinkie morphing with an index finger.

These "restrictions", which are real, are temporary. These machines are just getting better and better, which is why the conversation shifted from "it looks bad" to "it's not real art" and "it's unreliable."

Nonsense, I would love to play the game of my dreams that isn't tied to any current limitations like modern games are.

Such as a Grand Theft Auto game where you don't live in just one city. Imagine the entire USA being a playable map?

Rockstar would never have the time or budget to pull that off but with AI, it would be possible.

That's missing the point; even if you give the AI extremely precise stylistic instructions, it still decides how it wants to make something look independently. With very few exceptions, it'll never be able to perfectly match what you've conceptualized in your head, at least not to the same degree if you made it yourself. Just because it's much easier doesn't make it more freeing than doing it manually.

>That's missing the point; even if you give the AI extremely precise stylistic instructions, it still decides how it wants to make something look independently.

That is not true.

If I ask for a dancing Cheerleader, it's going to give me a dancing Cheerleader pose.

I don't care if the AI picks her right arm or left arm to do it. If I wanted control over that, I could give out more commands.

And it's still my concept because I asked the AI to make a pose I was thinking of for me.
