>Doctor Doom reigns supreme in ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, a status quo-shattering event overtaking the Marvel Universe starting next month. But while the world may be under his thumb, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are not. In response, Doom will assemble an all-new Avengers team befitting of his new world order—deadlier, meaner, and all-around SUPERIOR to any Avengers team that’s come before!>Discover their secrets and witness them in action this April in SUPERIOR AVENGERS, a six-issue limited series written by rising star Steve Foxe (TIMESLIDE, NEW CHAMPIONS) and drawn by acclaimed artist Luca Maresca (VENOM WAR: LETHAL PROTECTORS, X-MEN: FOREVER).>Comprised of new versions of twisted Marvel supervillains, the SUPERIOR AVENGERS include ABOMINATION, DOCTOR OCTOPUS, GHOST, KILLMONGER, MALEKITH, and ONSLAUGHT. Are they really who they claim to be? Where did they come from? And, most importantly, whose side are they really on?>MEET THE SUPERIOR AVENGERS! And there came a day, unlike any other, when Doctor Doom ruled the world…and he needed an AVENGERS team all of his own! Kristoff Vernard, son of Victor Von Doom, has been tasked with building the newest iteration of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! But who are these would-be heroes? And how did they come to be the SUPERIOR AVENGERS? Find out in a tale unlike any other in the landscape that is ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM!
"Introducing any new character to the Marvel Universe—let alone an entire cast of them—is both an honor and no small terror, so when editor Wil Moss reached out about developing an intense, secretive team of Avengers for ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, I knew I had to swing for the fences," Foxe shared."The Avengers that readers are going to meet here may have familiar names, but you’ll quickly come to learn why they consider themselves superior to other teams. This book features some of the most ruthless, wide-scale action I’ve ever written at Marvel, and I’m so thrilled to be telling this story alongside Luca Maresca. Luca nails both the subtler mind games at play in our story and the (sometimes literally) breakneck action.""Doctor Doom is one of my favorite villains, and I can't wait for fans to learn the story of his new Avengers," Maresca added. "In designing these characters, I tried to keep as many elements of their classic versions as possible. In clothing or equipment, they always have some reference to their source character or their media versions. I was very excited to co-create new Marvel characters. Giving them a life and a new identity is something I love to do, and as the story progresses, I’m excited to peel back their layers, deepening them and baring their soul! Readers are in for some big surprises!">Check out superstar ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM artist R.B. Silva’s main cover along with Maresca’s original character designs and preorder SUPERIOR AVENGERS #1 at your local comic shop today!

Onslaught?>>147137461Doom cured Blonsky? Richards and Banner are worthless.
>>147137500how the fuck is onslaught still around without M...you know, never mind. Bring it.
>>147137500
I HATE /TV/ I HATE SYNERGY
>>147137447>Doom genderswaps Killmonger and Doc Ockbased??
The only interesting character here is a deHulked Abomination as Captain Latveria The rest all seem utterly worthless
>>147137477What happened to Ghost? I hope he ain't gonna get replaced, I always liked this anarchist freak. Modern Ghost is too sleek.
This looks like trash>Steve FoxeAh, confirmed thenChildren of the Atom 2.0
So let's say these are all Doom using his bodyswap powers:Abomination - U.S. AgentGhost - Kitty Pryde?Killmonger - Some DoraDoc Ock - Did Sharon Carter get cured of her old age?
>>147137835Girl Doc Ock has been around since the 90's.
>>147137964The solicit sounds like a new one. Also she's blonde instead of pink or synergy brown.
>>147137447why is Steve Foxe getting so many Marvel books now?
>>147138051Probably shits out scripts on time like you wouldn't believeEvery generation needs a Howard Mackie
>>147137487Killmonger's a chickHuh.>>147137500Are they bringing back Red Onslaught?
>Steve FoxeHow does he keep getting work? He fucking sucks, has never written a good comic. He's in that same tier as Steve Orlando, Alyssa Wong and Kelly Erica Stephanie Thompsonschultzphillips where their name being attached to something causes me to immediately lose all interest because I know it's going to be boring, 4/10 shit.
>>147138765Kelly Thompson is great thoughbeit
>>147137447I miss when Kristoff was with the FF
>>147138808
>>147137500>onslaughtSince when has fucking around with this guy ever ended well?
>>147139091You need a token mutie, but most the big names are reformed or would kick your ass for trying to pose as you. Onslaught is fine.
>>147137891Girl!Ghost but with OG Ghost's conspiratorial paranoia and lack of hygiene would get an army of fanboys.
>>147137461>"cured" Blonsky as his Cap>>>147137473>random OC woman as an Ock stand-in for some reason>>147137477>femGhost OC as his quasi-Iron Man>>147137487>token blackie>>147137491>token god>>147137500>token mutieIt's kinda cool, but also pretty meh. Blonsky? Female versions of utterly random villains? Why even call it Superior Avengers if there's not a single person tied to the Superior thing like SpOck or Superony? When Osborn was running things he had Doom, Loki and Namor in his Cabal while his Avengers team had Ares and Sentry. Doom's just comes off as entirely second rate. I'm kinda intrigued by Onslaught and Malekith though, I won't lie.
>>147139253I'm admittedly more interested in the "how", if only cause X-men brought him back in the Krakoa era only to flush him down the proverbial dimensional toilet to never be seen again.
>>147137447So it's Dark Avengers with Thunderbolts?
>>147139433I don't think there's any pretense of them being heroes here. They're just knock off versions of existing villains. It's funny for Doc Ock because he already has one of those
>>147139299Ghost also seems to have the biggest breasts if the cover is accurate.
What should I read to get to know Kristoff?
>>147139393>Ares and SentryNo characters left to be half as based I'm afraid. Welcom to lame and gay.
>>147139845Fantastic Four #278 is where he gets implanted with Doom's memories, after which point he's just the defacto Dr Doom for a whileFantastic Four Annual #20 is where he comes into conflict with the real Dr Doom, where he successfully convinces the Latverian people and the Doombots that he is the real Doom and the other is a fraudFantastic Four #396 is around about when he joins the FF as an ally (after Doom seemingly killed Reed and himself)That's about it from what I know of him
>>147137500Isn't Red Skull megadead, or at least no longer in possession of Xavier's brain?
>>147138051>>147138129>>147138765I know the comic book industry has always had hacks, but it feels like the ones we get these days are a much lower standard of hack.
>>147139981Ok, thanks
>>147137491Sick
>>147137447Is this not just the dark Avengers again?
>>147137461>Introducing any new character to the Marvel Universe—let alone an entire cast of themWhy don't any of them have unique aliases? Why does everything ever have to be a legacy title
>>147141168Feels like it was thrown into a blender with other things. But I'm not sure if the main appeal will actually happen.
>>147137461>>147137473>It is fucking Abomination>Not Cap Hydra>Random female Doc Ock??????????????
>>147137891You know what happened
>>147141186There isn't a better one for Ghost. It is a more literal version off the expression Ghost in the Machine. At best you would just go through a list of different words for ghost until one that isn't used elsewhere.
>>147137447The House of ideas strikes again
>>147141254Okay but why are they making a new ghost at all, make something actually new.
>>147141294Why would you bother with that for a throw-away team? Isn't like they are going to get used in the MCU and get your royalties.
>>147141218i liked this designthunderbolts design is a downgrade
>>147137461Wait what the fuck, I assumed this would be Kristoff based off the synopsis
>>147139393>When Osborn was running things he had Doom, Loki and Namor in his CabalThey all hated him and thought he was a joke though right?
>>147137447lame
So maybe I'm just fucking stupid but what's the gimmick here? New OCs pretending to be heroes? Old villains pretending to be heroes a la Dark Avengers? A mix of both??completely unrelated but i'm still mad we don't have an anti-hero Superior Spider-Man book starring Otto
>>147137447I dub thee: the Dork Avengers
>>147137473we already have a female Doc Ock her name is Carolyn Trainer and she's been around since the 90s
>>147137477>literally just MCU Ghost
>>147137500Is this Red Onslaught or the nuOnslaught from Krakoa or...?????
>>147141359Because at least they'd be interesting?????
Bump
>>147139969Ain't that the truth... Dark Reign was peak Summer Blockbuster. It actually felt unique that the bad guys were properly running the show. Now you already know Doom will save all the ngubus from droughts, everyone will love him, but he'll start arresting people for not drinking their tea right, he'll get his shit pushed in, and by the end he'll have neglected his Sorcerer Supreme duties so Dormammu will come in and lead to the next event. It's not just predictable, it's boring.>>147142144Sure, but the point is that they were still there. Osborn's Cabal had power players in it. Doom's got literally nothing. A brainwashed Zemo and that's it. There's no status quo to this round at all, it's all literal D-Listers. Look at the team, it's just OCs LARPing as C-Listers. In what world is this a team worthy of "DOOM"? Osborn's Avengers were well known villains LARPing as classic Avengers, and his Cabal included some of the most powerful villains at the time. Doom's got literally nothing, and from the solicits even the villains are going against him. Which I guess is the point, Doom's got enough power to strongarm them all, but ultimately that's just bland and boring. It's just Emperor Doom stretched to 9 issues.
Dude doom lmao
>>147137447So is Doom taking over the world/universe/multiverse just something that happens like twice a year now?
>>147137473...Is this Aunt May?
>>147137461Captain Latveria?
>>147145120>"I'm sorry, Ben. You were never as good in bed as Otto was with his tentacles. So instead of waiting for Otto, I had to take his tentacles for myself."
>>147145246fuck off
>Time is a flat circle...
>>147147233They pretty much announced from day one that 1WUD was going to be like Dark ReignSadly this won't be anywhere near as fun as Dark Avengers
>>147147233>>147147310>Time is a flat circle...
>>147147603Marvel rn
>>147147603>everything we've ever done we will do over, and over again... forever
>>147147647Does the time he put everyone but Magneto under mind control from an air thingy count?
>>147147679Eh, then you're digging into individual stories and less so big "events" (even though Emperor Doom was an OGN). But still, you can see the difference between OLD and NEW in that everything current is just reiterations of past stories but made to appeal to twitter.>Emperor Doom>Doom takes over the world using his brains>makes it all neat and tidy>finds out it's hollow because he's always been in it for the struggle and not the prize itselfVs.>OWUD>Doom tricks Strange into giving him the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme>despite the title being literally a burden, Doom uses it for his personal cost>entire series is framed as him just being the ideal globohomo leader who'll get stopped when he becomes too crazy>his lack of attention given towards his duties will lead to him getting depowered and as per the Timeslide One-Shot will lead to Dormammu invadingIt's just bland. Where are Doom's few allies like Namor? At this point why would anyone go against Doom? His globohomo society is literally what they're fighting for. Free education and healthcare, food for the ngubus, no heccin discrimination, and so on. Literally what's different about him running things rather than the WEF or whatever else?I honestly don't know how this can go for 9 issues. If Doom was allowed to be the Doom of old, there'd be a point. He'd establish a sort of survival of the fittest society. He'd impose antiquated moral standards on his new society. There'd be a story there to be told. But Post-10s Doom is literally a New York Liberal who's honest about being an authoritarian. Big whoop, you'll have a scene where his 15 cameras yank a guy from his home for not liking a dish Doom made mandatory. As if in the real world the glowies aren't cataloguing our posts here or social media can't lead you to jail. It's just completely toothless as social commentary, and also bland as pure capeschlock.
>>147147791Wasn't that the whole point of Infamous Iron Man? Doom didn't like being God-Emperor Doom in Secret Wars 2015 so he decided to become the New Iron Man until he got sick of that too? Now he's conquered the world...again.
>>147147791What would a Twitter-approved version of Secret Invasion be like?
>>147147859Kinda. The point of SW was that Doom attained practically near Godhood again, kept it for a while, and found out that he just wasn't good enough to make it work. Then Reed comes in and shows him up again, so Doom finally accepts that Reed's his better. Hickman wrote it so that they buried the hatchet and Reed gave him a second chance at life, with Doom trying to find meaning in doing good, albeit his way. It was a nice status quo in that he didn't magically stop being Doom, a conceited arrogant narcissist, but he was going about it from a different angle. He apologised to Ben, he tried to help Tony, he did some good work hunting terrorists. Then it was time to end all of it so Bendis had his face destroyed again. Which, again, wasn't a bad ending. The next writer could decide whether to carry on the characterization, to show that this time Doom wasn't so mentally unstable to let an injury fuck up his soul again, and he'd still try to be better. But Slott came in and lo and behold, we got the same exact Doom from the decades ago. Which made the character feel entirely stagnant. He's been literal God, he went through a redemption arc and then turned back into his usual self. What's there to do?The worst bit here is that this storyline has no reason to exist. Doom could've taken over and done countless times. Hell, he's done it. The SS title is just a burden that only gives you prestige. Doom going>finally, now I have the title and also literal cosmic responsibility, I can truly give ngubus free healthcare!is just bland and retarded. There's no spin to it. No uniqueness of it being Doom, the Balkan gypsy scientist sorcerer dictator. This is a story that'd fit any >well meaning genius anti-villaincharacter.>>147147936>Skrulls dindu nuffin, they wuz gud green bois oppressed by the white Illuminati and white-adjescent Kree>we should open borders for the Skrulls >the real reptillians were the MAGA analogues keeping Earth closed off to alien dreamers
>>147147992>Skrulls dindu nuffin, they wuz gud green bois oppressed by the white Illuminati and white-adjescent KreeHey, that is exactly how it started. The Skrulls were benevolent and taught other cultures technology, and then the Kree were jealous of the Cotati being favored and killed the rest and built their own empire from their technology.
>>147148142That's the Empyre retcon though, isn't it? So you answered your own question about a twitter-approved Secret Invasion. God, I hate Ewing and his ilk so much. >hurdur the totally inhuman ugly aliens? YEAH THEY'RE GUD!>the human-looking Kryptonian analogues? YEAH KILL 'EM STRING UP ALL WHYPEEPO AND WHYPEEPO ANALOGUES!Goddamn self-hating faggots. I miss the Kree/Inhumans/Ronan part of MU lore. Much better than Skrullshit.
>>147148176No, outragebaiter, that's been the Kree-Skrull War story since forever.
>>147148176It was back under Englehart. 70s,
Aren't the pink-skinned Kree the untermensch of their society anyway?
>>147147647I liked the ending to this a lot. >Curses, they're about to end my world domination, I just need to press a button to stop them. >*flashes back to howe boring actually is*>.... you know what, I think I'm good actually
>>147143694no
>>147148192Well shoot, I stand corrected. But I've never been an Avengersfag, so I only know the basics. I've just always hated the Skrulls for being ugly faggots so I never cared to read anything about them, and only cared marginally for the Kree by association to Starlin's Mar-Vell.>>147148191Don't pretend you didn't skim a Wiki article. Just because one can't read anything doesn't mean everyone's your imaginary boogeyman. You twittertypes all post in the exact same manner, and it's obvious.>>147148363That honestly should've been the end of Doom seeking planetary control. The guy just isn't built for that level of tedious management.
>>147137447These designs suck. Superior Spider-Man and Superior Iron Man had great costumes but these ain't it.
>>147148258No that's the blue Kree. Pink Kree like Mar-Vell were considered lesser.
>>147147791>Free education and healthcare, food for the ngubus, no heccin discrimination, and so onSo he's just a (layman's understanding of a) communist now??
>>147137546>>147139091>>147139253The theme of the group makes it look like this is going to be someone new calling themselves Onslaught, not the actual Onslaught.>>147138129>Every generation needs a Howard MackieThat's not even fair to Howard Mackie, who revitalized Ghost Rider in the 90s and was a perfectly cromulent writer of secondary Spider-Man comics during the same time period, but eventually burned out and just stayed on the same books/characters much too long. These modern writers never had that initial period of doing work that reached even the low bar of being "just OK", they went straight to sucking.>>147142144>They all hated him and thought he was a joke though right? Most of them didn't like him, but at the beginning there was no personal beef for any of them to hate him, that started happening as the group fell apart. The Hood and Taskmaster were the ones who got outright disrespected and treated as a joke by people like Doom. Osborn's position of power, and how they could mutually help each other meant they had enough sense not to treat him the same.
>>147149644unter, not uber
>>147147992I do remember thinking that it was weird that Doom was just a villain again in Slott's FF. Feels like it came out of nowhere
>>147150037Based on the way the blue talk about the pink, you'd think they would look like Star Trek aliens with random things like pointy ears or forehead ridges in the population.
>>>147137500what are Onslaught's powers even
>>147150322His justification was that he got his face ruined again so he was angsty, and then the woman who'd become Victorious sought him out and begged him to come and save Latveria from the new regime, which prompted him to... go back to his same old personality because... of reasons. I get it, his face was ruined again, but you'd think Secret Wars would've had more of an effect on him. It didn't help that Slott's a bad writer who most certainly couldn't handle such a character arc.
>>147150037>unter, not uberShit, you're right. My bad.>>147150331I guess it's more about what they represent (i.e. the kree mingling with other races) than anything else.>>147150356Kind of vague psionic abilities.
Didn't Doom literally just take over the world and was God Emperor like 3 years ago?
>>147150481Anon... Secret Wars came out in 2015.
>>147150580No. That can't be true. It was just a little bit ago that I really liked that Thors book.
>>147150611It's okay anon. A decade here, a decade there, and we'll be soon dead and freed from this Hell.
>>147137891he's dead jim, ant-man killed him
>>147150425slott more like slopp lmao
A way better and more realistic roster would be:USAgent as Captain America Crimson Dynamo as Iron Man(Both assigned to the group by their governments to spy on Doom)Maddie Pryor as Scarlet Witch (working for Doom against her will because Doom is holding Cyclops prisoner after Scott retardedly pisses Doom off)Kate Bishop Hawkeye, with her betraying the super hero community and being a true believer of DoomA resurrected Eric Masterson as Thor
>>147151371Sounds like the usual SHOCKING nonsense for an event. The best way would be to not have this exist.
>>147137447Someone needs to take away Kevin Feige and the brainless time he begged at Marvel ASAP
>>147137473>>147137477cover all women don't leave any skin showing, it's as if 90% of Disney's market were Muslims
>>147150425Why didn't Doom just fix his own face? I know the reason pre-SW, but post-SW and Infamous Iron Man?? That's sort of hackneyed by Slott.
>>147140320Both. The brain was removed and then hydra Cap killed him. In theory, the revival system could have recognized him as a mutie during that time and created a backup of that version of him.
>>147151657who cares
>>147137491Wasn't this the last boss in Street Fighter III?
>>147137447You know how DC has too many Suicide Squads? Marvel has too many Thunderbolts. It was a clever concept once. Is this like a 20 year anniversary for Dark Avengers or something?
originality is dead
>>147152661It was again ruined by magic so he once again't can't fit it the normal way. Bendis literally just put all the toys back in the box and then Slott completely ruined any possibility of change.
I miss when Avengers was simultaneously prestigious and a wayward home for B and C listers.
>>147154926>The Hood doing things while possessed againWhat does Bendis see in that guy?
>>147154960Same. It made the teams interesting. The current teams are all so boring and sterile, and it certainly doesn't help that they have some bias against using the Mansion for some reason
