>This isn’t about being brave or strong.>I know I’m those things. This is different.>I have no agency, Mark.>Who am I to be upset or sad or-or-or feel anything when you’re literally saving the world?>When you disappear for months at a time?>When I’m alone again instead of being with my boyfriend?>I don’t want to be that person.>I hate that person.>But my life matters, too.>Maybe it’s small, maybe it’s not earth-shattering, but… but it matters.>And it doesn’t matter when I’m with you.Was Amber right?
>>147138394it's an expansion of the "are superheroes obligated to save people" questionas someone with superpowers, mark feels obligated to use them to help others, but he sacrifices his own life in the process. in this situation, i think amber did the right thing for both of them, but mark isn't in the wrong for doing what he does either. amber simply cannot keep up with a superhuman, and caring for someone who gets into life threatening danger that closely is only going to lead to a lot of anxiety for the both of themunfortunately, mark is in a world of his own, one that observers will not understand fully
>>147138394Yeah. This time was a sensible way to break up unlike the infamous one from the s1.Being partner with a full time superhero is hard , so better break up if you are unable to deal with it instead of turning it into an awful relationship for both. It’s the reason why the break up in the comics too (where she is the white stacy bimbo instead ) and a wake up for mark to stop pretending to be able to live a regular life
>>147138394Amber did nothing wrong
>>147138394Yes Amber is wrong, because those first lines "this isn't about being brave or strong, I already know I'm that"...god that is self-masturbatory shit. But more than that changing it so that Amber is the one doing the breakup, changing things so she is the one speaking those lines rather than Mark, which is exactly what is happening, is all about self-justification. TIn the comics this was a moment of self-realization for Mark, when he broke up with Amber, of realizing "holy shit what I am doing as a superhero is inadvertently hurting someone I love, so I need to make a choice between being a hero or being with Amber" as she was developing feelings for another man, and he was also developing feelings for Eve as he was spending more time with her than his girlfriend. But it still came down to him making that choice, and accepting the consequences.
>>147138394Will Amber and Mark break out in the upcoming season? I don't like black chicks. I'm not a /pol/tard, I'm all for equality but I don't like black chicks.
