Have you read knightfall yet? Why haven't you read knightfall yet?
>>147141906That's almost 2400 pages you double nigger
>>147141906Yeah, I read it. I already read it.
I read it and I didn't really care for it
>>147141906According to your picture I've read more than youYou're missing volume 2 of Knightfall 25th and Knightquest The SearchYou may also want to get Troika too but of course that's not actually part of the main saga, that's just a further post script after prodigal
>>147142135It's probably the most iconic (note, I am not saying "Best") Batman story arc in his entire history.
>>147141906There's very little chance of it being good.
>>147142593I agree. It's why I read it in the first place and it was such a let down and such a slog in some parts. Not saying it's not important, it is and it's very iconic, but I didn't care much for it.
>>147142615Chuck Dizon, Alan Grant, Dennis O'Neil, and Doug Moench are all good writers. And the art from beginning to end is fantastic.
>>147142653No. I'll give you Grant, but the rest are very inconsistent.Every non-Punisher comic I've read by Dixon has been run of the mill shit.>Dizonlol
>>147142709They've all written good stuff, and they all were writing Knightfall during their peak. Not saying everything they've written is great, but their work on Knightfall is good, for how long it is. And when the writing does get "tedious", the art is there to entertain.
Me, I listened to it
>>147142629I agree, but you also have to say, for how long the books are, they're priced very reasonably. 30$ for almost 700 pages is nothing to sneeze at.
>>147141906>Have you read knightfall yet?No. I mean, I have read some parts of it. I've come across some individual comics, but I'm pretty sure I never sat down and read the whole thing.>Why haven't you read knightfall yet?Because even the best capeshit tends to be mediocre and most people don't even recommend the best of capeshit. They hear a lot of people talking about a run and then assume that it's great and recommend it to other people. They typically don't even have an understanding about what's good or what's bad with the run, just that people talk about it positively so it must be good.Tell me, OP. What's good about Knightfall? What does Knightfall do differently from other Batman runs? Why would you recommend Knightfall over the other Batman runs or the other similar runs from other comic book characters?
>>147143243>Because even the best capeshit tends to be mediocreI've never heard anyone call Knightfall the "best capeshit". >They hear a lot of people talking about a run and then assume that it's great and recommend it to other people. They typically don't even have an understanding about what's good or what's bad with the run, just that people talk about it positively so it must be good.Indeed the rec list mentality is a big problem. The same stuff gets recommended over and over again, that stays evergreen in print and people don't bother reading anything more. The comics pipeline feels like you just go through a list and stop at a dead end. People want to be spoonfed because they don't like putting in effort to explore a medium, even though exploring a medium is enjoyable thing on its own.The average rec list is a mixture of good stuff, then stuff people are nostalgic for, then stuff people considers important for character history, etc. Knightfall just feels like the nostalgia/character history, Bane broke his back etc wasn't that epic!? So much "good" in comics is just reference and hype rather than people dissecting stuff.
>>147141906Of course. I wouldn't recommend it aside form the leadup issues by Doug Moench.
