The alternative is trying to first find if the character you like is in any comics that are running right now, then trying to get your hands on all current and back issues, and then keeping up with each monthly release, assuming they aren't pushed back or the series hasn't suddenly ended to be started again in a new #1 or as part of some annual event. It's a fucking headache and it's expensive to collect floppies.
