>>147157563The digital reprints, especially on glossy paper, completely fucks the coloring, because it was designed to be more subdued due to being absorbed by the porous newspaper quality paper. Glossy paper doesn't absorb as much so it makes it look way more saturated and brighter. It's literally not the intended look for it.

They'll never get close to the original look; at least if they follow the original color guides they'll at least sort of look like an approximation of the original.The only way to really get close to the original colors is the way Taschen and some other ultra-expensive collections do it, which is to scan actual comic books in a really high-quality way, which I assume is expensive (just getting the best possible copies of old comics).
