Were you too old for it?

I feel like I was (slightly, I would have been 12) but I think a larger part of that has to do with the fact by the time this show debuted Cartoon Network was no longer a premium offering on my cable plan so I was spending my time over there looking for kid-focused entertainment than I would have been when Nick was the only network for kids I could watch.

spongebob isn't a preschool cartoon anon

I was 6 when it started. but I never really cared about it

No but maybe like four years earlier it would have been RIGHT in the target demo for my age range. That said I could still enjoy it if I were more frequently exposed to it, hence my belief that the real reason was just the disproportionate amount of time I spent watching CN vs. Nick by that point.

I was 6, so I was right in there.

I never thought of SpongeBob as a kids show. I always thought of it as a show for all ages that just happens to be "aimed at kids"

Spongebob skyrocket in views with college students when it first aired
I mean, i got the show recommended by my dad after he watched it on a plane

I was 16 when it debuted. I was already a fan of Rocko's Modern Life for 6 years so I was predisposed to the style of humor.

It came out the same year I was born. I grew up with it and enjoyed its golden era greatly as a child. I probably stopped watching it around age 10 or 11, I wasn’t lucid enough to realize it had declined though, I just figured I had aged out of it.

I was born in '95, I was the exact right age for this and it was one of my absolute favorite shows.

Still quote it in my head regularly to this day.

Nah, became too old for it when YouTube Poops and Newgrounds/YT animation kicked things off circa 2007-2009
