God she's beautiful
Good episode.I found the whole montage really cringe and stupid. I'm really glad that we FINALLY get to see mama schnee (Willow), first thought, HOT, second thought, I think she's simultaneously overrated and underrated. She Overrated because some people say she's a good person and mother because she's concerned for Whitley. Being concerned doesn't make you a good person/parent; what would make you a good person/parent, is actually doing something about it. She's not doing anything to help Whitley. She pushing the responsibility onto her (19 year old) daughter. But she's also overhated. She's not a good person/mother, but she is an interesting character. People forget that you can be one without the other. She seems to have a victim complex. She doesn't help Whitley herself cause she views her life as out off her control. Or at least that's my interpretation based on the few minutes we get, plus my experience with these kinds of people.and we're FINALLY addressing the fact that Whitley is probably just as much a victim as Weiss and Winter is. Prior to this point, it was hinted at, but never openly addressed.Lastly, I've said so far that Ironwood is being reasonable, while the people around him fail to see the bigger picture. However, I actually find the council reasonable this episode, despite their criticisms of Ironwood being the same as Ruby and co. The difference is, the council is working based on limited information. Their failing to see the bigger picture because they don't have all the pieces, but are coming to a reasonable conclusion with the info they have. Unlike Ruby and co. Who have all the info, yet still fail to see the bigger picture.P.s I said it once and I'll say it again. Mantle looks GREAT. I've finally found the perfect word to describe it: Soft Cyberpunk. I want to see more of Atlas proper though.

>>147162432Just Klein. He keeps it freaky with the multiple personality thing.
>"Let's talk about exactly what it is you control."Before the volume started, an anon told us to keep an eye out on the writing credits each episode, and see if we pick up on any differences in the quality based on who was writing what. Mostly, I think the quality of this volume so far has been pretty consistent, and I haven't noticed any glaring differences in the episodes. There are few standouts though. When it comes to political commentary, the episodes where it's the most heavy are written solely or in part by Eddy Rivas. This makes sense, as political commentary was always one of Miles/Kerry's weakest points. While I've certainly had problems with the commentary so far, it's at least more modern and more consistent than everything with the White Fang. If the show really is committed to including these things, it's probably for the best to let someone else handle it. Episodes that have a bit of romance (ReNora/Bumblbee) include Kiersi Burkhart in the credits (nothing else really stands out here). This episode, written by Miles, has some of the usual flaws of the show, like the tonal imbalance. We go from serious talk of politics to team JNR playing a cartoonish prank on Whitley, then back to serious discussion of Atlas and Mantle's future. "The more things change, the more they stay the same." Other than that, I don't have much to say that >>147161857 didn't mention already. The relationship (or lack thereof) between mothers and daughters is one of the more subtle themes of the show. We haven't seen much of Weiss' mother besides from some family portraits, and you get the sense it's the same for Weiss. Her mother almost seems like a stranger to her, hugging her wine bottle more than her own daughter. It's more nuanced than I would have expected, but it's one of the stronger moments in this volume. >"You can't just buy trust like everything else, you have to earn it!"
>>147162508I've been checking the writing credits too, but I personally didn't notice the difference until you pointed it out. The social commentary getting more heavy handed should have been a dead give away. There's also something else different about their writing that's different that I can't quite put my finger on. Hopefully I'll be able to put it into words soon.>>147162461If you have multiple personalities, and one of them fucks your girl, are you a cuck?
>>147162692>If you have multiple personalities, and one of them fucks your girl, are you a cuck?I'm gonna go with no. It's still the same brain and body. Just with a little mental malfunction.
>>147162692>There's also something else different about their writing that's different that I can't quite put my finger on.I've felt the same way. There's something about this season that's so hard to put into words
