It is still inspired by her proto design. Strong point of her design is her poofy 80's hair style, which is why someone would want to change it for modern audience. But thats just a cat.
If they make a reboot and it's not in the horrible fucking Ducktales style, I think they should keep it in the 90's. Goof Troop is just a sitcom and plenty of modern sitcoms take place in someone's childhood during the 70's - 90's. If they wanted it to be a little cheeky and reference sitcom formulas, they could have adult Max narrating it so Jason Marsden could be present, but they can also have kid Max like the original.

Although I really wouldn't want it, not because I don't like it (I love that series, let's be clear), but because it would ruin it with some of its stupidity and attract people as if they remember it. I mean a parody of the original series, only like Goofy, he would be an alcoholic in his old days, Max would be a drug addict, Pete's son a disgusting businessman and car salesman, Pistol a prostitute, like Peg, only she would dump her when she got old. And it has to be in line with today's ideologies. So I don't want it. I watched Nu-Ducktales and the Proud Family reboot, and I was disgusted while watching it. Especially Nu-Ducktales which is a parody of all the good old material that Disney made in the previous decades and spit on it all. The only thing Disney did well with reboots was Mickey Mouse Cartoons by Paul Rudish where they improved Mickey and Minnie like they should, and they really know the old material, but that's it.
