Saw that this piece of shit finally got its graphic novel adaptation that nobody cared about, and it landed with a wet fart. Had nothing better to do this afternoon, so let's have a storytime and piss on the grave of Disney's 100th anniversary.Bump if reading.
Yes, the first page is just a purple void. The comic doesn't start til page 2. No foreword or contents page. Don't ask me why.
>>150076174>anything is possibleBring back your lost youth, grandpa. Come on.
Please remember how idyllic the kingdom looks when they try to convince you later that the king is wrong.

Now we introduce the McGuffin the writers came up with because they realised Magnifico was too sympathetic.
It's like two different people wrote Magnifico's character.
>stupid emotional teenager encounters consequences for the first time.jpg
So for those keeping count, Magnifico's diabolical scheme thus far is... utilising his authority as ruler of the land to not give one family what they want.
>It was then that Rosas realised the first nuclear strike had landed.
Remember to bump if reading, anons.
The marketable sidekicks will continue until morale improves.
Asha will now attempt to conscript her friends into her treasonous intentions and illegal breaking and entering.
>>150076313>can Star grant wishes?>noBut it granted the goat's wish to talk, so what the fuck.
>"my people, there is a grave threat to the kingdom">"HURRR GIVE US MORE FREE STUFF"
>I let you live here for free, and I don't even charge you rent.
Bear in mind that everything Magnifico does from this point onward is controlled by the book, which is supposed to justify his schizophrenic writing.
Possibly the lamest plot twist in any Disney canon film.
The friends have switched from distrusting Asha to agreeing to take down the king in one (1) page.
Does the pacing feel to anyone else at this point that they realised they were running out of pages and had to get to the end faster?
>>150076408The comic omits the incredibly stupid detail from the film that there's this 'magic oil' the queen puts on their hands here to protect them from being turned evil by the book.Oil that the king had in his study, and did not use for some reason.
>>150076408>It's not falling if you jump!Try telling that to the 43%.
Whoops, didn't mean to (You) myself on the previous page. My apologies, anons.
THROW HER OFF THE FUCKING TOWER, YOU MONG.
>we are starsExcept the shitty song explaining this was excised from the comic so this has no setup. Well done, writers.
>top 10 Disney villain defeats
Will I reach the end before the thread 404's? Only time will tell.
And so this was all an elaborate power grab by Queen Amaya, who immediately installs herself to power and shows no remorse for her husband of many years being eternally imprisoned.
The end. What a miserable pile of manure.
Thanks to any anons who read along. It filled a bit of my time.
You beat 404, yay!
>>150076584By a hair. Thanks for stopping by anon.
>zero interest Don't really know what I expected.
>>150077598lmao, nobody even cares enough to hate it
>>150076168So…was the comic version any better than the movie? Why didn’t they even attempted to fix what was wrong to begin with?
>>150077625This dead horse has been beaten to a fine paste.100 years of Disney animation comes down to the cinematic equivalent of a wet fart.
>>150076422OK, I've got to watch this movie now. That sounds too stupid to pass up.
>>150077685No, if anything it's worse because it skips entire scenes and makes the king's characterisation even poorer.
Why did I read that. Didn't even have proper feet pics.
>>150077720It's eternally mystifying that Disney didn't see its' 100 year anniversary coming and scrambled to get something out instead of, ya know, making something momentous with a lot of effort.Fucking food companies give more attention to their 100 year anniversaries' media output than fucking Disney did.
>>150078507Mickey's 100th anniversary is also coming
It was boring, not as boring as the movie, because somehow it feels shorter.
>>150079305>it feels shorterBecause it skips like a third of the movie's scenes.
>>150076199...
>>150076168If only there was more Parody comics that play and feel even having the same art style like/of an average Disney Graphic Novel (like this one) or a Story in a Disney Princess book but the only parody part is a small scene in the comic, as I remember a Beauty and The Beast comic that was just like that where the suggestive or Parody scene was Belle Naked in the Shower and Cogsworth telling Belle (who is now in her Infamous dress) that there was something on the floor
>>150076422Huh, don't recall that detail. Then again, I probably didn't pay that much attention.
>>150080401Sex with Asha and the middle left girl
>>150076523>Wiithin a year the people of the Island were all enslaved on a Tangiers galley.
it is still a bad story. king had good motives to keep everything under control but his past remains omitted with details deliberatedly to still paint him as a villain. Asha does not comprehend how wishes are something that should carefully be considered but of course if we ever saw a wish being used ill-inteded then the king would still had good motives complocating that element of having a villain. If the studio were smart, they could've make the king be a stand in for Yensid while Asha being Mickey except we have the reveal that there was a greater evil waiting its chance to use those powers and after solving it, maybe the king trusts Asha to handle all wishes from now on but not the kingdom
>>150081556That or just have the king do something blatantly fucked up like forcefully removing wishes to power his magic. Wishes should have magic power and taking away a person's passion is inhumane.
>>150076239I’m adding this next filename thread
>>150076234How did he reach that conclusion just because her gramps wanted to create songs?
>>150076254He could've been more diplomatic, but as far as being a monarch goes, it wasn't really trully villainous, perhaps just kind of douchey.Personally, I don't see much reason not to give the old man his wish, unless he saw something bad in the old man's songs. He is old and not long for this world, why not grant him the wish? It would also give a nice message to the people, that it is never too late to have dreams and all.
>>150081556>If the studio were smartwe would not have this movie/comic
>>150076168>>150076523>>150076530Alright, having read the comic (but not the movie), I sort of get what they were going for.I guess the point of the story is that everyone deserves to have their own wishes, be them something simple or grandiose, and that at the end of the day it is mostly up to them to hold onto those wishes and have them become true, instead of having to rely on others to grant them for you.But I dunno man, it sort of feels forced or something, like, the kingdom was fine, the people were happy, nobody in decades seemed to have a problem with how things were going. Was it really necessary to do all of that? It's not like they lived as slaves in squalor or anything, things looked good.Yeah the king seemed to be sort of douchey, but historical kings were often much worse. At least the dude took care of the kingdom and granted wishes to people.
>>150076504>>150076514>Man in power bad.>Woman in power goodIsn't this just reframing centralised authority as good and progressive under the caveat that a woman is the one holding all the power?
>>150082920>Yeah the king seemed to be sort of douchey, but historical kings were often much worse. At least the dude took care of the kingdom and granted wishes to peopleThe people who write this kind of thing down know anything about history.
I genuinely had no idea this movie even existedWhy does it feel as if it was made with the sole purpose of being forgotten
>>150076168jesus the art is really ugly
>>150082920You have hit on the same criticism everyone walks away from this movie with. The conflict only works if viewed through an incredibly childish "first world problems" lens. Most normal people would gladly give up one (1) wish for a lifetime of security and free housing.
>>150082338If you do, PLEASE shit on OP to the best of your ability. OPs of /co/ filename threads are extremely annoying unfunny children or mentally ill people who refuse to acquire self awareness.
>>150083202There is a theory (of fact?) that the script was AI slop with minor adjustment by actual monkeys later.
>>150083552Writing by committee just closely resembles AISloppa
>>150076254>king does not grant the wish of the family that tried to manipulate him into doing so by working for him>somehow he's the villain
after reading all that, it makes me so much more upset that we didn't get the original version>star was going to be a magical prince who kisses asha at the end - but we cant have that, straight romance is problematic>king and queen were both unapologetically evil - but we can't have that, female villains are problematic>it was going to be more like the classic Disney movies of old - but we can't have that, the entertainment of the past is problematicbasically, what we got is the end result of wokeness
>>150083751He is the villain because he makes many evil faces for the camera.
>>150082920It's crazy because >the king had like, UNLIMITED WISH POWAAAAR>learns about a wishing star falling nearby>MUST HAVE THAT POWER AT ANY COST, EVEN IF I HAVE TO APPEAL TO THE BOOK OF ETERNAL DAMNATIONAlso yeah, the king is corrupted and imprisoned forever out of nowhere but oh well, what's his wife gotta do, gotta enjoy being queen
>>150083552People thought the songs were written by AI
>>150084126That is almost definitely the case.
>>150076168I never saw Wish, but I am surprised there wasn't more porn of the main girl, since it seems every disney/pixar instantly gets thousands. Thanks for the storytime
>>150076168Very deserved flop, thanks Anon.
>>150082382Besides Disney's Aladdin, you need to be VERY clear of your Wish because 9/10 you gonna get fucked by it.
I still can't get over the fact that in the movies he said he granted 14 wishes the previous year. That's not being stingy, that's reckless and excessive.
>>150076171Fascinating
>>150084760Maybe ten of those were for himself
>>150076168shit movie
You can tell it's bad because there's no porn of Asha getting raped
>>150076254I mean there is a way more obvious way to make this more dire or wicked.Hell you just have to look at Lex Luthor in Superman Secret Origin, where Lex was basically worshipped and hounded by people who wanted to be licked like he was a science business miracle worker (just like he wanted to be). This just seems like a watered down version of the same concept.
>>150088537>who wanted to be licked like he was
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3YL062XLw4 I can just picture the Disney heads slamming their heads against the wall trying to understand what made this film do everything they were hoping Wish could achieve
>>150076530What a piece of crap. And with how short it was and a lot of the comments it was clearly bery abridged from the movie.I am curious about some of the wishes that the comic never brings up. Like surely some wished for a loved one back to life or for wealth. All we got was "grandpa wants to play the guitar and that one gets to sew dresses".
>>150084760I mean the wishes shown to be pretty weak and fairly acheivable. One guy just wants to be a knight, one girl wanted to sew good, the mom wanted her daughter to be popular or happy? 2 of the 14 wishes were probably a big tasty meatball.
>>150080401I remember her friends being in the movie but I don't remember anything about them
>>150088859I remember the chick who was still crippled, I guess she'd be a threat to the peace if her leg worked well
>>150089247I'm goin to hell for laughing at this
>>150088698Sony hired pop producers to make pop songs, Disney hired pop producers to make Disney songs for some reason.

>>150091508Anon...... you are not wrong.
>>150091508>>150091579Didn't they just have another one with the kid and the alien?
>>150091701Home was remembered maybe for a few months.
>>150091710I just looked up Home and that's not the movie I'm thinking of. It was just in theaters
>>150091723Oh, that one had a super forgettable name. Sometimes good movies are given shit names by producers, unfairly. But this is a marriage made in Heaven: boring fucking film with a boring fucking title. MAYBE it's Eli. Maybe.
>>150091779It's Elio
>>150082382I think the implication is that he saw more of what the wish is instead of just him playing on an ukulele. Something like a voice "I want to inspire people" speaking in his mindthe visuals are more for us than the characters
>>150083202Okay I just watched it and holy shit that was badThere's no way this movie wasn't made as a cautionary tale of corporate greedAlso the diversity checks were so on the nose I'm starting to suspect there was an infiltrated /pol/tard in thereThe only relief is that, like most of modern media slop, it will only take 20-30 years until every trace and sign that this movie existed will be erased from Earth
>>150090198>Sony hired pop producers to make pop songshonestly, the songs in K-pop Demon Hunters barely qualify as pop.The only ones who I personally think sound like pop are the two Saya boys songs(the second one is more of an 90s boyband pop song, as back then they didn't shy away from making their songs sound dark despite romantic lyrics)"How it's done" - more like rock and rap"Takedown" - diss tracks are not really part of the pop genre"Golden" - very typical musical "I want" song"Free" - romance song, also very typical musical"What it sounds like" - once again, climatic musical song. You would never hear this kind of song from a pop girlband. The difference from this to wish is very simple: These sounded good with a lot of variety. Even if you don't like this or that song, the chance is that there are two or three others you would enjoy. That is the secret to most successful musicals: variety.
>>150091814>The only relief is that, like most of modern media slop, it will only take 20-30 years until every trace and sign that this movie existed will be erased from EarthIronic that all the anti-piracy hunting will make sure that happens even faster.
>>150088814>One guy just wants to be a knight, one girl wanted to sew goodThese are things you can reasonably learn how to do, even if you aren't necessarily a hereditary knight you can learn swordplay and riding. The people seem to have a lot of time on their hands, it's not like they are shown tending animals or harvesting crops or working a trade at any point.Fuck in real medieval Europe a lot of times Men at Arms also had a trade or owned a pub because there isn't going to be war all the time.
>>150076171Best page in the whole book.
>>150076283>Hail Satan!
>>150076287Oof, the goat joke totally lost without audio.
>>150091508I finally took the plunge to watch it on D+ a month ago and I think my lowered expectations made it more bearable. It wasn't awful but just not that interesting.I did find it interesting my boomer mom noticing all the diversity in it "so a black wife and a gay son? Huh..."
WATCH OUT WORLD HERE I ARE
>>150081556Replace Magnifico with Disney Executives and wishes with film and TV pitches and it makes marginally more sense. But the answer isn't to just try and achieve your dreams on your own (go indie) its to continue to give your pitches to Disney because now women are in charge I guess?
>>150076287That last panel feels like what parodies used to think Disney movies were like.

OP here. Nice to see some people still reading this turd. Forgot to mention as part of the deal I also got the Zootopia graphic novel, I think they're distributing it to drum up hype for the sequel? Anyway, thought I'd do a storytime of an actual good movie if anyone's interested.>>150097069
>>150081556>except we have the reveal that there was a greater evil waiting its chance to use those powersThat could have been the queen if the exces weren't so hellbent on not portraying women as evil. Now, please post the only good thing from this massive nothingness, our grand majesty: KING MAGNIFICO

>>150076254His reasoning is fucking horseshit though. "Oooh giving on old man the power to play halfway decent music to inspire the next generation might spiral into a rebellion against my rule". He's a paranoid nutjob who only grants wishes that directly benefit his regime.
>>150101034And he's not even creatively paranoid, considering the woman who can now sew perfectly could sew the flag of the revolution.
