>gwen's terrible mini-series is almost over>but then she will go back to being completely forgottenWhy is being a Gwenpool fan pure suffering? We either get nothing or garbage. The more time passes the more I think Unbelievable should have ended with her being sent back to her own world.
>>150174829She had a decent first run but now she's just a vehicle for memes and progressive bait. She's not really a character anymore. It's telling that the most attention she's gotten in a while is her comic literally getting highjacked by someone more important. And dead. Just look forward to her Marvel Rivals debut.
>>150174829get back in the box slut. don't make me poast gwenabuse
>>150175221I don't read DC, but isn't Superboy Prime a trollish, villain-type character?
She's cute and sexy enough to always be remembered
>>150175406He's gotten a redemption arc and was portrayed as someone who doesn't take things too seriously
>>150174829>Why is being a Gwenpool fan pure suffering? The future refused to change.
>>150175762>>150175221>A mobile game made a Gwenpool that HyperionsShe still has the potential to become the big boss type for an event. Just needs to become horribly disillusioned after spending a decade or so in comic book limbo.
>>150174829This character was horrid
I've read the last issue of the mini, trust me when I say you want it to be completely forgotten. It gets meta, the writer outright says he doesn't like her and shits on her for things that only applied to the way he wrote her.
>>150174829You honestly deserve worse
>>150175954Does she try defending herself, or is it about how she lacks agency?
>>150175976It's about how she "doesn't take anything seriously" and treats her like she still doesn't see anyone else as real. He uses her kicking Fin Fang Foom as an example of why she can't be in a story that's ever serious. She not only doesn't defend herself, she acts like it's a deep flaw she has and resolves to be less of a joke character.
>>150174829>Why is being a Gwenpool fan pure suffering?Because you choose to read anything other than the Hastings run.I don't and I still enjoy her a lot.You should be able to spot the red flags of a shit story from a mile away, anon.
>>150176099>He uses her kicking Fin Fang Foom as an example of why she can't be in a story that's ever serious.Sounds like the limits of his talent.ONE can write with OP characters just fine.
My condolences to you all.
>>150176099It must really burn Marvel Editorial's ass that Jeff The Landshark is such a certified cash cow right now thanks to Rivals and is intrinsically linked to her, huh?
>>150176812They tried to ignore Gwen's connection to Jeff by making her Kate Bishop's pet in the It's Jeff webtoon. The only reason Gwen even started appearing in It's Jeff is because Gurihiru pushed for her inclusion.
>>150176099>>150175954Assuming you're telling the truth, that's extremely disappointing but it's still better than what I feared. I was starting to legitimately fear the leaks that Gwen Poole was going to possess Gwen Stacypool and gain mutant regen in an attempt to make her even closer to Deadpool, which would have been disastrous for her character. This ending is just extremely hacky by comparison. It's yet another writer who doesn't get Gwen thinking he's Grant Morrison and writing himself into the story to correct Gwen on problems she already got over in Unbelievable (these issues brought up aren't inaccurate to Gwen but he's just copying Chris Hasting's homework here, she already went through this arc in her first comic) and pretending like problems he himself introduced to her story are intrinsic problems to her because no writer can bother to read her origin story. It's shit but it's the kind of shit you can just forget and move on from, way easier to ignore than the mutant retcon (which everyone ignores) and the asexual shit (which everyone wants to ignore but Marvel mandates make it really difficult)
>>150176838based Gurihiru as usual
>>150177427>You all keep telling me to take my meds, eh?>Well lets see how YOU like my meds!
>>150177261Gwen's body is turned into a Frankenstein's monster-esque Deathlok, somehow getting like a foot taller and very muscular, and she possesses it. She makes a comment about how she'll probably find a way to fix it by her next appearance, with a mention of going to Mega Tony. Stacypool is still around at the end and the two are set up as a potential team. The entire thing is stupid and I hope it's never acknowledged again.
>>150176812No? They just write Gwenpool out of that shit whenever Jeff’s around, I don’t think it makes them mad they get to ignore a character they dislike
>>150177691>She makes a comment about how she'll probably find a way to fix it by her next appearance, with a mention of going to Mega TonyNice to have Mega Tony mentioned but yeah I doubt anything like what you're describing would stick with the character, that Deathlok sounds okay for a short possession but absolutely zero lasting appeal>Stacypool sticks aroundLegitimately surprising, not entirely unwelcome. She was a huge nothingburger but if Ben can stick around I guess there's no reason one Gwen clone can't, though I hope they don't insist she's gonna be 'Gwenpool 2' or something
>>150177718i need someone to draw gwen on gwen action
>>150176665Thanks Peeg
>>150175221Sad but true. I was surprised by how enjoyable he is now.
>>150174987>She had a decent first run but now she's just a vehicle for memes and progressive baitsad that this is basically what happened to Kamala too. at least Iman Vellani understands the character better than every writer since her creator's run ended
Gwenpool's another victim of Marvel's endless fellation of the status quo. Gwen's thing is that she's a Z-lister who wants to be an A-lister, that's her equivalent of Bruce Banner wanting to cure himself of the Hulk, or Ben Grimm wanting to cure himself of the Thing, or Peter Parker wanting to cure himself of being a single loser. If Gwen actually accomplishes her goal, there's nothing left for her to strive for, or at least Marvel stubbornly believes that. So she's doomed to never be a major player, precisely because wanting to be that and never getting it is what defines her character.
>>150174829What mini series?
At least there's always Unbelievable Gwenpool. I've basically just ignored everything else she's been in
>>150174829"Terrible" is a bit much, wouldn't you say?
>>150174829Gwen was never good
I have clone/multiversal gwen fatigue.
Storytime of pain soon?
>>150179131I am perfectly content for Gwen to be a Z-lister forever, that's her lane and she's most comfortable in it despite her grievances. But even Z-listers should be able to at least get a couple decent stories now and then...
It was storytimed here >>150181202 and it is just as terrible as you'd expect.
>>150183620This. Gwen being an underdog is fine, especially given her commitment at the end of the Hastings run which is her sacrificing her future popularity to be a better person. Being stuck as a z-lister is the choice she made, and it was the right one. The problem is that, like all capeshit, Gwen's writers post-Hastings not only didn't read his run, they actively resent the idea that they are not being given a clean slate character to mold as they will. They don't want to write the Gwenpoole character as was already established, they want to have first crack at her despite being 10th in line. So she can't keep a consistent tone or personality to save her life, and just ends up a meandering mess of nothing.
because Gwenpool is a shit character and you all deserve this for allowing that floating shitstain of a shark to get popular
>>150183693>didn't include the name of the storytimethat's why it was hard to find but thanks
>>150180670No, that shit is ass.
>>150180670After reading the final issue I think "terrible" is putting it lightly.
>>150183738>Being stuck as a z-lister is the choice she made, and it was the right one.Very good way of putting it, Gwen is forever a Z-lister because she chose that path over her evil, more successful future.Every year feels like the climax of Unbelievable ages better and better knowing Gwen really does sacrifice any sort of success in the future and her friends all disappeared into the editorial ether just like she feared
>>150175762>The position of the sword handleCoincidence??
>>150174987>Just look forward to her Marvel Rivals debut.I've been looking forward to it for almost two years now, I need hopium at this point (or settle for her appearing in that new animu Marvel fighter game which would also be nice)
>>150174829Nobody reads comics anymore. She needs a new role. Maybe you could do something with her being meta. Don't have comic books but show up in messageboards, tiktoks and reels and what not.
Well, see you in 5 years when Gwen gets another mini-series.
She really is a one-author character, isn't she? Only Hastings knew how to write her.
This dude has been seething in Gwenpool threads for a decade now lmao.
Damn, he is actually having a meltdown.
Now he is samefagging pretending everyone can't see all his posts are formatted the same way. Every day I'm glad I wasn't born in a third world shithole like him.
Gwenpool is a joke that has gone on for way too long past the punchline.
>>150188312Look at the gwenpool fag samefagging pretending everyone can't see all his posts are formatted the same way
daily reminder that the original Gwenpool run most of the time has artwork that looks this fucking bad! Also, did they forget to add jokes and funny scenes?
>>150174829Gwenpool fans managed to ride of Spiderman and Deadpools name recongition to get more merch then characters wich existed since the 70s and still complain. The current drought of good comics is terrible but its preferable over getting nothing for decades only to have the comic still be bad.
>>150188342
>>150188161>Gwenpool debuted 10 years agoI’m getting too old for this shit
>>150187972Probably closer to 2-3 years>GSB: 2020>LU: 2023>This: 2025
I've been saying this for years but the only way a character like Gwen works is to make her an unhinged satirical villain like Superboy Prime. They went out of their way to keep her good, and unfortunately there's not very much you can do with that.
>>150189137I feel like that was almost the point of her defeating her evil future self: that the concept works best as an unhinged villain type but Gwen, in-character, would rather be irrelevant than hurting her beloved capes
