I wish there was more maid marian cards but hey the 3 that there are cute so
>>150241161How do you know?
>>150241161Wrong artist dumbass
>>150241219This one is part of the backbone of one of my current decks.
>>150241832Was one of the artists outed for AI use?
>>150240691This is probably the least exciting set, what with all the reprints, and all the Goofy Movie cards look nice, but I find them underwhelming gameplay-wise. The Dumbo cards that they quietly added actually seem to have mire potential.
How do I find copies of a card I want? I need the shift line for Clarabelle for this Ruby/Emerald deck I got from Fabled.
>>150240691Whispers of the well that’s gonna have Gargoyles and Zootopia
>>150242046The fastest way is usually to call or drop by your local card store that offers singles, but otherwise there are online stores that should have them, like tcgplayer, but you have to wait for shipping, which can take forever depending on the seller. I'm a leaf, so I try to get mine from 401 games.
>>150242093I heard it's going to have The Black Cauldron, too.
>>150242046>>150242110The big Clarabelle ain't cheap right now, though.https://www.tcgplayer.com/product/561959/lorcana-tcg-shimmering-skies-clarabelle-light-on-her-hooves?page=1&Language=English
>>150242093Demona spotted.
>>150240691If Max's last name is Goof, what id Goofy's first name?
>>150242481Goofy. His name is Goofy Goof.
>>150242212Damn.
>>150242534Yeah, I ordered her just a few months ago, and I think she was only about $18 at the time. Maybe the set rotation heightened her desirability.
>>150241161I swear anti ai faggots are annoying as pro palenstine faggotsThey never shut t the fuck up about something no one cares about
>>150242674>They never shut t the fuck up about something no one cares aboutYou're not wrong, but that could describe pretty much anyone here.
Maxxie, your stepmom is expensive as fuck on TCG player
>>150240691I can appreciate that they got artists to make original pieces for every card. So many franchise tie-in games just use screenshots or marketing key art and they end up looking stale as shit. This game may be ruined by scalpers and disney adults, but at least a bunch of artists got paid to make really beautiful art for all of these.
>>150243291My cousin got super pissed when he purchased union Arena and seeing that the cards just uses screenshots from the anime
>>150243291Well, this is kind of cherry picking, but there are a few cards, even recent ones, where they appear to have copied pretty closely from a screenshot...
>>150243570A paint-over isn't great, but it's better than a screencap from the movie, I guess.
>>150243291>ruined by scalpers and disney adultsThings have gotten a lot better since Set 1 and 2. At least you can get product at release now.
>>150243586Yeah, and the lazy ones are pretty rare, for the most part, it's good stuff. It just makes ones like this stick out more.
So, for those of you that actually play the game, how are you dealing with set rotation? Which cards are you going to miss the most?
>>150242481Their last name is Goofey.
>>150241891Here's the deck in question:
>>150240691>The state of Max on the internethttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Owoon_vUQgk
>>150243915Hows The game?
>>150244064It's fun! Even moreso if you're playing with the right people. At my local league night, we usually have a diverse group of kids, teens, young adults, and even the occasional senior, but yo do occasionally have to deal with MtG refugees who take it too seriously (more often at tournaments, naturally), but overall, it feels like the early days of MtG (like, around Ice Age or Fallen Empires). Still lots of potential for expansion and improvement. It's fast becoming my favorite CCG.
>>150244181I should probably note that I'm a MtG refugee myself, but it was because I couldn't stand taking it so seriously, or my obnoxious peers. Plus, how MtG is selling out to all these franchises sickens me (ironic that I would go on to play a DISNEY game despite that).
>>150242674just keep sitting in your fence
>>150243291Really? Don't get scalpers for Lorcana at my Target, most of them just come for Pokemon and maybe some Sports cards.
>>150246048I think that anon may have been referring to the earliest sets, where Ravensburger underestimated how high the demand for this game would be, and as a result, there were huge shortages, leading to scalping. Things are much better now.
>>150242481He's referred as "G.G. Goof" so something that starts with G.
>>150246247George Geef?
>>150241161You can see the artist on the bottom left corner, dumbass. Said artist has been making shit in this style long before AI was even a thing.I fucking hate AI as much as the next guy, but use your fucking brain here. A simple google search will keep you from looking like an idiot next time.
>>150243703There's set rotation already?! Fucking Christ, that should be a last resort for when power creep goes out of control, not baked in from the start
>>150246965Already? It's been 9 sets and 2 years. They were bound to do it at some point. Though, I wish they weren't chopping out 4 whole sets at once. That's a huge chunk of the card pool. Anyhow, they say they intend to support 'Infinity' tournaments (where all sets are legal) going onwards, but we'll see if that sticks.
>>150247226>It's been 9 sets and 2 years. That's REALLY young for a card game, anon. Most TCG's on average start dying around the two year mark, so it's crucial to NOT alienate your playerbase at this point. Set rotation does exactly that, alienates people who went out of their way to collect cards and starts fracturing the playerbase.Just because Magic does it does not mean it's the best course of action for all card games. It's that exact Cargo Cult logic that kills a lot of card games with potential.
>>150246695George Geef Goof?
>>150249075If you say so. So far, most of the moves Ravensburger has made have seemed to have some wisdom behind them. I'm going to trust that they know what they're doing. And, I'll be honest, there are some cards I'm glad to see going away. Be Prepared and Whole New World being two of them.
>>150243746Well THIS is news to me!
>>150241921Yep
>>150243956I’ll do you one better anon https://youtu.be/nKeJyEvUB8c?feature=shared
>>150240691Max is my boyfriend. Sex with Max!
>>150249075I'm used to Hearthstone which rotated sets once a year. I only ever saw it as a good thing because too often cards released earlier in the set just continued to dominate and new expansions would be underwhelming. Also, it's an insane burden on the developers to have to balance card interactions from years ago. I prefer having new interesting mechanics introduced that aren't held back because one card from 3 years ago completely breaks it.
>>150249075The only parts of the player base that are going to be affected by or give a shit about set rotation are the hardcore tournament fags, and they're all MtG tryhards who are used to this bullshit by now. The collectors and Disney Adults and casual/kitchen table players, the ones who spend the most money on this game by bulk, aren't going to care about tournament legality because it doesn't affect them. They're just going to open their mouths for more Disney slop and say 'Oh, that's a shame, but Gargoyles next, right? Feed me, Daddy.'
>>150250589>>>150251849If you were going to make a whole thread about it, you could have at least linked it.

>>150244245I get what you mean, but for me there's a big difference between a franchise doing their own thing with it from the get go vs mtg being mtg for years and then suddenly becoming fortnite tcg
>>150255393Ah, see, you get it exactly.
>>150241891She's so pretty.
>>150243703I miss my bird.
>>150254195>the greatest artists on wart
>>150256582Man, I always wanted that bird, but never managed to pull him. At least you got at chance to use him.
>>150256649I played Emerald/Steel discard almost exclusively since the Bucky days, so I got a lot of use out of him. No deck made people seethe more than that.
>>150256560You just want to be her shuttlecock, don't you?
>>150256681More than anything else in life.
>>150256678>No deck made people seethe more than that. You're not kidding. There's a reason that Bucky's the only card to not get banned, but full-on neutered.
>>150256725Even after Bucky got chopped Emerald/Steel discard was a lot of fun and super powerful. Just rarely consistent enough to win at top events.
>>150256688Ok, just realize that Lady Kluck will bang you half the time, too.
>>150256725>cost one more>does not have ward>extra condition for its effectwas it all that necessary?
>>150256797Not at all. Just removing Ward would have been enough because he'd be super easy to answer on the turn he comes down. They went full retard on him because the game was still new-ish and they didn't know better.
>>150240691it's so strange that disney now recognize this movie as part of its collection
>>150256840It just had a big anniversary so it's getting a lot of attention.
>>150256746For sure, just thought I'd point out the Bucky nerfing for other readers who might not have heard of it (he's the only card in Lorcana to achieve that 'honor'). I messed around with a bit of emerald discard, too. Shame to lose Prince John for those.
>>150256816I think at some point, it became less about game design, and more about catharsis.
>>150241161I love ai art
>then I’ll have Powerline sing Pretty Please, which bring my items from my discard pile back to my hand.>I’ll also summon Roxane, Maxley’s strongest soldier. She gains evasive whenever Max or Bradley on the field and she’s gonna gain 1 lore and she’s gonna quest
>>150257097Is it really mockery, if you're basically just describing how the game works?
>>150257477That Mash-Up skill is insane, good lord.
>>150257695It is, but I think the trick is that Ruby doesn't have much in the way of songs (especially after set rotation), so you're going to need to depend heavily on your 2nd color.
>>150257695Most of the songs are trash right now, and it's a very high roll play.
>>150258370I wonder if that's their move now? To only leave in lower powered songs, but give you more chances to play them? Might be good for balance in Standard, but it could turn Infinity into a gong show.
>>150258713Perhaps. Songs are certainly a big reason for the early rotation, since they clearly underestimated how good they are (and specifically how good the early ones are). So now we can have better Singers without worrying about them completely controlling the game. Also yes I think Infinity is likely going to be a shit show until they start issuing some bans.
>>150258748>Infinity is likely going to be a shit show until they start issuing some bans100%I think you've got the right idea. It'll be interesting to see how things play out, but ultimately, I think it'll be chaos until bans reshape it.
>>150242006Playing in a big tournament this coming weekend and I had to spend like 250 bucks just to have enough of these assholes for my deck.
>>150258934That's a gamble... I hope it works out for you. Care to reveal your decklist, or are you worried it could be countered (justifiable concern)?
>>150258994Sapphire/Amethyst is a known thing and the counters are already known, and nothing I am doing is that far outside of the norm.
>>150244181Dam that sounds pretty cool...I might give it a try since I already have all 3 maid marian cards
>>150258370>stop playing because I was waiting for songs to be viable enough to make a deck out of>find out there's rotation and songs are back to being trashPAIN.
>>150259135>stop playing because I was waiting for songs to be viable enough to make a deck out ofWhat? Songs were ALWAYS good. I'm not sure what game you were playing.
>>150259135You could still make a Madrigal deck, anon. They don't really care what they're singing, as long as they're singing.
>>150259042Looks like it could be fun to play. I just wondered what you'd throw in there, as I haven't taken the time to think up a Dumbo deck of my own yet (plus I don't have a copy of him yet, so that doesn't help).
>>150259155They weren't good enough to have the entire deck focus around them. The actual support cards like Singers were really mediocre early on. >>150259213Looks fun, I'll give that a shot.
>>150259326I dunno, I faced at least one really powerful song deck around set 5 or so... but considering I was just messing around with a broom deck at the time, I'm not surprised that I got trounced.
>>150259326I guess I don't know what you mean by "focus around them". Steel song decks with Cinderella and Ariel were absolutely dominant for a very long time.
>>150259087If you're just diving in to it, you might want to try getting the new Fabled starter that has Ariel and Mulan on the cover. It's a princess themed deck that your amber and sapphire Marians should work well with. Also, you're missing a Marian, there's actually 4 of them!
>>150256725How do you come up with a card like the original and not immediately see how broken it is?
>>150259591Balance is a difficult thing to achieve. You can play test hundreds of thousands of games before release but it still won't compare to the millions that get played after it comes out.But yes, giving him Ward should have been an obvious dumb ass decision.
>>150259591>enthusiasm >lack of foresight>hee hee, squirrels are funny
I'm just glad that they finally got the Enchanted cards to a point where they actually feel special.
>>150260172I dunno, it felt pretty special when I'd trade mine in for tons of store credit.
My problem with Character TCGs is that you always run into the Dokkan Battle problem. "Oh, you have Super Saiyan Goku, but actually, this new Super Saiyan Goku is way better than that now!"
>>150260516Set 1 enchanteds maybe, but lots of them from later sets were barely worth 75 bucks.
>>150260529Power creep? Well, as much as some anons think it's a red flag, the set rotation they're doing right now is the easiest way to curb that and restore game balance.
>>150252946Whomst?
>>150260602Still, even then it felt like winning a mini lottery. I've never cared much about rare alt art cards, but if they let me buy more normal cards, then they mean something to me.
>>150260768It is nice to be able to pay for your box with one card. I used to do that until I started playing in more tournaments, now I like being a douche by flexing on people with all the enchanteds in my deck.
>>150261075That is a pretty douchey flex! Hard to argue with that flex in a tournament, though. If you're there, you probably earned them.
>>150259326>Looks fun, I'll give that a shot.Cool, I'm out on an errand right now, but I'll post my Madrigal deck when I get home.
>>150260726I actually think he's complaining less about power creep and more about characters having to by necessity get new versions again and again with different subtitles and shitDigimon has this pretty bad with agumon and gabumon lines
>>150262959Oh. Well, you get that with Mickey, but it's not as common with other characters.
>>150263529
>>150264022Ok? The point I was trying to make was that there's way more of Mickey. 5 Alices over 9 sets isn't that bad, especially when some are Floodborn. Also, I have a beef with Alice in particular, since after set rotation, they dropped Morph so now I have to settle for Keyholder if I want to play Clumsy as Can be, and Keyholder is pretty lame. So, you picked a character I wish there were MORE of! (in red or green, at least)
>>150262786This is it, but I'm hoping to replace Be Our Guest with Circle of Life once I can get a few copies.
>>150264022I at least like that they do a lot to differentiate them, especially with the Storyborn/Dreamborn/Floodborn stuff. It's not the same Alice every time.
>>150259591Hindsight's a bitch.
>>150242445just when I think I'm out...
>>150266404Haha, I know, right? I've been dreaming of Gargoyles since set 1!
>>150242445I wonder if this opens the door for more DCTV shows. Maybe a set revolving around Kim Possible, or Brandy & Mr. Whiskers? American Dragon? Maybe we can finally get Disney acknowledging Dave the Barbarian for the first time in decades!
>>150267226The mighty ducks… or even W.I.T.C.H glimmers but I doubt it

>>150243291>>150243570Maybe so, but these would never be as crappy as Dicemaster's Yugioh 144p images.
>>150267275Disney owns W.I.T.C.H? Huh, that's news to me. Funny enough I'm pretty sure that had its own TCG back in the day, so it would be going full circle there.
>>150267226I'd love it if they did the older shows, too. I'd love to see Gummi Bears or The Wuzzles. Now that I think about it, Wuzzles would be thematically perfect as an all-dual-color set.
