When Maka gets a big moment you always feel it's because of both her and Soul, when Black Star or Kid get an amazing Moment the narrative focus is always on them, their weapons are secondary at best.

Simon just gives off big drill energy too. Though it being Death Battle meant someone dies, I think maybe in an alternate reality, love did bloom on the battlefield.
