So thinking on this whole crossover thing I decided to go against it and I'm going to refold the plan that I had into a Terriful solo story with homages to hyw series instead of doing a crossover with them directly. The original crisis was a one-time thing and I doubt I'm going to ever get the level of ambitiousness from everybody else again. Plus hyw as a whole has had a lot of turnover and new faces who do not have series that I would necessarily say would work in a action crossover setting. It's insane how dedicated the shitposters are to their autism. Just figured out a hook for my webcomic, Crown Chaser Chronicles: genre blending. The sealed off continent the story starts off in is a standard high fantasy setting, but the world outside that the main cast goes to is steampunk/western themed with lower magic and more advanced tech.

Haven't read your story, just saying that in general it helps to want to make something engaging to read all the way through instead of only being worth it for a few moments (ex: RWBY). If you can master getting the most out of every moment of a story, characters playing off each other with enjoyable chemistry, showing off what makes an environment or culture interesting, whatever else, might help in making the whole thing feel like more than the sum of its parts. I always think back to seeing people say (and thinking it myself) that they could watch a whole episode of just seeing two characters they like sitting down and talking. And while it's not /co/, there were showdowns and matchups in Suits that got me as hyped as capeshit or shonen fights, and I don't even like legal proceeding stuff. I don't know your work so it might come off as patronizing, this is just stuff I think of for my own stuff.

>>150874068If I had to give serious advice I would say avoid too many instances of "haha...a fetish sure is happening right now, isn't it?" maybe even to the point of whatever the fetish is being considered so normal in that world that it isn't even worth talking about aside from whatever ways it might effect the plot. Seamlessly weave it into world design so that rather than it appearing as regular setting but with fetish tacked on, the fetish informs on and enhances the way the world is possibly built around it. Like if it's a BDSM world, maybe each cop duo team has a masochist and a sadist who each have specific roles in which they deal with criminal elements, in ways that complement each other's policing style, as well as using the dynamic to write interactions that highlight their differences in humorous ways. Like the masocop prostrates herself before the offenders, then sadist catches the criminals while they're engaged with the masocop or something (ex: masocop begging to get beaten up in place of whoever the loan shark is brutalizing at that point in time). Humor can be based around how absurd the world appears to us from an outside perspective compared to the way characters in the story treat it like Police Squad/Naked Gun. Alternatively, maybe the world is normal and the fetish content is wildly out of place, could go nuts with that as well (ex: normal world but there is a superhero who is like the black panties guy from Shimoneta). Also, I would say not to sacrifice good character writing, you could still make a story that's enjoyable in its own right even though it's based on fetish stuff.

The supernatural/paranormal stuff is always cool to me, so I liked that angle. I also think you've improved quite a lot over the years from a technical standpoint.That being said, I've tried to read your comics a few times, and I can only get maybe 3 or 4 chapters in before I get bored, and just never come back to it. While I do think you can draw TECHNICALLY well, I think you're style and characters are a bit pedestrian. I feel like you're good enough that you should be able to push yourself further. You have the skills too, and I am assuming the biggest issue is time constraint for your update schedule. But if the issue is that you're finding you're not getting much engagement/many subscribers, maybe scale that back a little to spice things up.I think you suffer from not really moving past the "anime-isms" in your style. Like, you're making a manga-inspired comic without really understanding its conventions and the dynamic aspects to it. It makes your pages look flat and kinda boring. For instance, on the image you posted here, I actually quite like the way you've drawn the page on the left, especially that middle panel. That's a tough angle to do properly, and I think you mostly nailed it...still, it just doesn't look very dynamic. It looks more like a sticker placed on a page than an explosive attack. I think you really need to emphasize and even over exaggerate stuff like that to make it more exciting.
