Season 2 is shit. The interpersonal drama has no subtext or intrigue. Character A is mad at character B for some contrived reason. It's not building up to anything other than them making up once they're done with the bitch fits. Everything is a retread of season 1. I can't believe they made the angels sympathetic to hell so easily. It sucked the momentum out of the plot and became completely frustrating to watch. All they needed to do was make Lute take charge and have Emily and Sir Pentious the only believers. Vox vs Allister has to be some of the most juvenile writing I've ever seen. The way Alastor projects his facial expressions when trying to pit Vox against his cohorts belongs in a show for toddlers. I can hardly care about plot reveals like Angel being mind controlled when it's built on a mountain of shallow garbage. What the fuck happened, I genuinely thought season 1 built up a ton of great characters and mysteries.

I think Gravity is a song that tells you the story of season 3 but provides massive misdirections that are more obvious ahead of time.Vox’s and Alastor’s song, Stayed Gone, leaves you with the impression that season 2 is about a war between Alastor and Vox. And instead, Alastor willingly gives himself up to push Vox into becoming the strongest sinner of them all. All because Alastor’s soul contract made him realize that Vox was his ticket to freedom. Alastor becoming a big and bad demon was actually foreshadowing Vox’s future transformation into Shockwav.Gravity gives you imagery tied to Lucifer and Lute wanting to take Vaggie away from Charlie. To give you this impression that Lute will fall to hell to get her revenge. But when you look at other details in the season, the most important detail was actually when Lucifer considers Vaggie a more valuable asset than Alastor. And when Vaggie asked Lucifer to wipe out the Overlords, which Lucifer does agree with but lacks the means to do it. Lute is supposed to indicate that Vaggie will become a true fallen angel, and forget the love she has for Charlie.
