This whole thing made me think. Why have modern shows never had as consistently good writing as early simpsons, early Futurama, or even early SpongeBob? Not to say everything modern is bad, I like Smiling friends and a bunch of modern cartoons, but they are just straight up not as funny as the shows I mentioned.
