they are friendish, they have known each other since they were kids so there's probably this sense of support and care between them. I was gonna post something like this, but looking at it again he's not saying the problem is unrelated to all that but that it can't just be the existing tension continuing. Keep Daisy's wandering eye, now that Augustus is more free from his charetaket job and far from Lucy. Give Paulo an actual reaction about it, give him back the list in his eyes when looking at Daisy, make trying to keep it from Abbey an actual hardship instead of just a thing. I think what bothers me is how nonchalant they are about the whole "if we all sit together it's either she or him", Mike left in a good note with them after apologizing for dumping his stress on them, even asking forgiveness from Sue who has the mental (and physical) constitution of a wet paper towel, and his initial distancing from them was only because he found some happiness in using the time to run outside. The last interaction he had with Paisy was congratulating them both for seeing the obvious, even if he was out of it he didn't make it their problem. And then compare it to Lucy who isolated herself, most of her interactions with the table are condescending and hostile, she's kicked Paulo down enough times to make him wary of being more direct to her, she thinks of Daisy as a lesser slut, and had gone on a minimum of three occasions on rants about how no one is her friend and she doesn't need any of them, and then she just comes one day to the table, given over the reigns instantly (what the fuck was that with everyone suddenly accepting James and caring about Augustus just because they're with her) and she even implies something happened to Mike, but pulls the leash in a very rarely seen act of manipulation. And for them it's "eeeh I guess they're about the same really, it's a shame we can't think for ourselves"
