I thought the animation for All-Might vs Homelander was pretty good.I know a lot of people had problems with it, but I thought it was great.Even if you disagree about All-Might losing, given the power gap between the two it makes sense for Homelander to take little damage. It also put John in some kind of a mentor or elder role to Toshinori, and let Homelander show how far he had come by defeating someone who had been down the same path as him. He wasn't just fighting All-Might, he was TEACHING All-Might. And I think that's very heartwarming in a way. That Homelander would take the lessons he learned and help someone who was just like him.If this weren't a Death Battle I'm sure they would have ended cordially and taught each other well. The alternate ending is weird, even if heartwarming in its own way. It was nice to see Homelander reunite with his son, but it feels weird to have him just stand there and take that United States of Smash.I haven't played read All-Might’s manga though (but after watching this fight I think I might watch his fight with Might Guy too!) so I might be missing stuff but as a big Boys fan I thought they did Homelander justice and from what I saw they treated All-Might with the utmost respect. They need to rematch Ash vs Yugi next season. The sooner the better.Normally I trust Death Battle's judgement on any match up but this one was too farcical. I don't know why they would use such weird scaling with Yugi and most of all I don't know why they equated the Heart of the Cards to Ash's genuine bonds with genuine living beings that were his friends.Yugi sacrificed his monsters a lot and that was a big point of the show so it's just nonsensical that they say that Yugi cares about his cards the way Ash does about his Pokemon. Not to mention the animation was wonky and didn't give Ash the chance he needed to shine. Ash-Greninja killing Atem was a good start but he didn't even get to finish his Golden Water Shuriken; this is the same Greninja that was manhandling MEGA Gardevoir. A CHAMPION's Mega Gardevoir. At an incomplete Ash-Greninja state. Scaling off that alone should put him above anything Yugi could do.Next season they need to redo this. I know it's too soon but this is just too egregious to not correct immediately, and I think the major delays for this episode is proof of them knowing that this was a bad result. They probably had to record new lines to try and justify Yugi's win.

It was a fairly cool episode. The 3DCG was on point, the models were excellent and some sick ass shots, and the music is chef kiss.But again, biggest issue is they were comparing squares and circles, so the episode felt like Yugi was pulling random bullshit out of his ass. I've said before and i'll say it again. Yugi should have PLAYED against someone like Usogi, Yumeko, Akagi and/or specially Kaiji for a game of witts, much like in his original show.
