i really want to see them commit to killing finn, the story really feels like its recontextualizing what the original show did with how mean spirited and destructively impulsive finn was and to kill him off in the way that the story is priming us for feels like a justice that the core age regressed fans might sincerely NEED. there seems to be a wider narrative in season 2 about coming to terms with the worst aspects of yourself and threading the needle of your own wants and needs and learning where its necessary to change yourself in the way that matters rather then just knee jerk take every criticism that comes your way to be a mindless people pleaser with no autonomy.i think this builds off of season 1's themes of escapism and not knowing how to differentiate between fiction and the harsh realities of adulthood with how violence in the way an action show portrays is just maladaptive behavior and seeing cake be the adult in the room in season 2 coming to terms with her violent impulses in a constructive way is really good to see.but finn dieing from an old man death, the kid a grandparent dealing with months of cancer treatment goes through, the way the dream had him trapped in a time loop like it was dementia. he should be killed for the narrative. he should have consequences for his actions and destructive narcissistic careless people should not have so many opportunities to hurt others just because they have a friend group to help them avoid accountability, finn should die as a justice.i really hope they don't chicken out and actually go through with it.

They feel the need to expand the lore of existing characters or concepts in AT in many cases rather than all the interesting unexplored stuff in OOO, but do so in such boring ways that it retroactively makes stuff like the cosmic owl and huntress wizard less magical and interesting. This show could have been better if it wasn't adventure time, but if it wasn't adventure time I doubt it would have been successful enough for a second season.
