Writing an anon in the circus fic is a bit challenging because different anons would want to interact with the characters in different ways. I think the most interesting aspect to tackle would be how a fan of the show would like being in the show, finding joy in the circus that the other characters do not, possessing some meta awareness, stuff like that.

I don’t really fit into either pre-determined side. I don’t think the SOMA twist will happen, but I don’t think it’s going to turn into a total Caine death story either. I don’t think they’ll be able to leave. If anything, I expect Caine to be the final boss of the therapy scenes and it’ll end with Caine growing enough in understanding to facilitate the rest of their eternity more successfully.

One way I think you can judge the merits of SOMA theory is the type of arguments the opponents and proponents use.In my experience, I've never seen a proponent of the theory say it's true because it would make the ending bleaker, and they want it to be bleak. Or that it's true because it makes the characters less real, and they want the characters to be fake. In fact, it seems silly to imagine any significant number of people making those arguments. But those are the most common arguments I see opponents make, just in reverse. it's very clearly wishful thinking. They want it to be true, so it must be.Conversely, and please correct me if I'm wrong here because I don't want to strawman, but I don't really see opponents arguing that the humans must be hooked up to life support systems (Matrix) or bodily sucked into the virtual world (Tron) based on the show's textual or metatextual evidence. They don't point to what we know about how the circus works, or potential hints, or character statements and actions. Nor do they say that Tron or Matrix theory further the show's implied or stated themes in some way. Proponents do all of this because they reached what they consider the most likely conclusion based on the available evidence.
