The Hunson stinger at the end basically flags Marceline as the next deuteragonist to team up with Fionna and likely Marshal Lee will play an important role as well. I probably won’t be too interested in seeing it though, Huntress Wizard’s arc was the big draw for me to watch this season and I don’t expect her and Finn to play leading roles in the next, though they’ll likely show up as supporting characters.

I never would have expected that this random background character would become a main character in the show, and eventually Finn’s main love interest and endgame as well. The Adventure Time crew really subverted my expectations there.

Anyone else find it interesting that both Finn and HW see themselves as kids in their own minds? That neither of them have been able to move on past their childhood trauma. HW has parentsal ame abandonment issues the same as Marceline amd FP, and as lf the finale she has responsibilities as a leader the same as PB and FP but none of those are eber used as an excuse to why she can't connect with and be with Finn.Another difference is that the burden of carrying the relationship isn't solely on Finn. With PB and FP he was always the one pursuing, the one who had to prove his worth to make the relationship happen while FP and PB were just there as objects to be won. That's why they only received character development after Finn fumbled them. They needed a reason to exist without being Finn's love interest. With HW she's the one pursuing Finn. Finn doesn't need to prove his worth to her she already sees him as an exceptional beast.
