also, being authentic to the characters voices was priority number one. I made sure to study their speech patterns as much as i could. and generally get it as right as i could. I was nervouse to do those more intimate scenes, cause we never see john or jade show that side of themselves as much. ( i dont read them epilouges) so i had to kind of feel it out. And i am also terrified of woobifying either of them. Jade will show her bubbly and happy side, but also her more unstable and emotional side. In regards to how she is the one who initiates this "relationship" but is fighting within herself whether she should embrace it or reject it. leading her to flip flop attitude whether its ok or not. And for her to get upset and act out because of it. And john will show his whimsical carefree side, but also his doubtful and dare i say cowardly side. At least cowardly in respects to how he refuses from this point forward to think about what he is doing, and who he is doing it with, because the thought scares him. making him emotionally avoidant at times.

The feeling I usually get reading weekly/bi-weekly manga with bad pacing is that you're waiting a week or two for 14 pages of nothing at all and it really fucks with your enjoyment of the material. Reading Homestuck Beyond Canon is exactly that but way worse. 7 months of vriska visual novel were fucking miserable to wait through, all of the scenes leading up to the first flash just outright refusing to continue the previous week plot thread and always shifting to something else that didnt even get the chance to become interesting. There are highlights to it, same with the epilogues, but going through it as it updates is an awful experience, it was the exact same back in the HS^2 days. but at least they continued the same thread for a few updates before moving on.
