People seem to like Wu so I'll say something about her personality. She is a whimsical and free spirited girl. People don't know what to do with Jade because Hussie himself didn't know what to do. Jade's only real flaw is that she gets angry sometimes, and understandably so, but that's not really much to latch onto. Roses' anger problems are much more sublimated and complex, there's much more to chew on there, whereas Jade's amount to just out-cussing Karkat and bullying her own traumatized dream-self sprite. And then after Cascade, her shining moment in the sun, she practically disappears for the rest of the comic. She may be a Witch of Space but she certainly acts a lot more like a Witch of Void the way she puts on that vanishing act. tl;dr- Hussie is a hack.

And that is to tackle the same thing that the epilogues did. Jades lack of direction and disenfranchised nature due to losing the guiding force in her life. Skaia. In the epilogues it manifests in her more daring and sporadic nature. As she has had years to festee with this lost feeling In my writings it manifests a bit more softly. Her general lostness so to speak making her more liable to flip out and act sporadically, but she still tries to maintain her facade, but quickly realizes that skaia was the only thing that ever allowed her to keep up such appearances. It is inevitable that I am forced to take liberties and extrapolate her character in order to allow for a suitable arc or any character introspection at all. I suppose it is why I latch onto that aspect of her while others don't. As a witch she should be allowed to be characterized without the guiding light of skaia as unstable and volatile. But rarely does it shine through, and when it does, like in the epilogues, the worst possible decisions that totally destroy any credibility she has happens to her. It's funny. Because. I love jade so much because of how relatable she is to me. That feeling of isolation and loneliness. That pressure to keep up the happy mask to feel useful and wanted. And the inner chaos of it all. It's what I hold onto as my one hope of doing the character any justice in my writings.
